The hotel is gorgeous but the wait to check in took over 30 minutes. We were pleased with the luggage delivery service. Food service staff, towel staff, drivers, and most everyone was wonderful. Front desk staff were not wonderful.
Our room upon arrival was loud and cold. The thermostat was set to permanent cold air and could not be changed. The TV was stuck on with loud volume. The remote control didn’t work and we couldn’t unplug it. We called the front desk and someone arrived soon to inspect the tv. It was a bad remote control he said. As we froze in the room, I tried to warm up in the shower but no hot water arrived!! The hot water was out. I called the front desk to ask for a room upgrade and said we would pay anything to get out of that room but was told nothing was available and check back in the morning. We seriously considered leaving the property but with two kids, we stayed. The next morning, we called about the upgrade and were told nothing was available. The third day with cold showers, I went back to the desk to beg because we were so cold in the room and there was no hot water. It was such punishment- we would pay any price for an upgrade. They said no upgrade was available but placed us in a new building after maintenance confirmed our report about the water and thermostat.
I wish they would have taken care of us on our first arrival instead of making a chunk of our vacation uncomfortable.

The oriental restaurant and the steakhouse were amazing! The Royal restaurant was wonderful too! The buffets were ok. We have stayed at Occidental at Xcaret Destination before and enjoyed it so much we came back. Facilities and staff are generally excellent. We enjoy the fact that we can go to Xcaret essentially every day for free and stay for just a few hours each time. Bars were well stocked and generous. The ala carte restaurants were quite good and the snack bar at the pool was good for lunch. The main buffet was good at breakfast but it was horrible for dinner. Not many meat nor vegetable choices and they were unappetizing, sparse and cold. Other guests seemed to feel the same way. Also, it seemed that none of the ice machines in the various buildings worked. Despite these setbacks we still enjoyed it enough to return again in the future.

Staff was nice and helpful, but I did not like the buffet area.
Food was scarce at times and not enough tongs to grab food. At times we had to clear our own plates Seemed to be understaff especially at dinner time

The location is Amazing , however the staff in the building is too annoying trying to sell a membership that we said no a multiples times . Also they need to improve the food options .

Stayed last year, service has deteriorated a bit this year, still a great place though. Great location if you love spider monkeys.

Loved this property! Me and my fiance stayed her for 5 nights and we still didn’t see the entire property. Our fridge was restocked everyday, our room was made up twice a day, they served us drinks everywhere we went including the pool, and the wildlife was a great experience to witness. We will be returning with our children because of how safe and enclosed it was.

Very nice place and family friendly! We loved the animals (monkeys, deer, parrots) saw them daily and my 2 year old loved that. The food/drinks were good, not exceptional but what you can expect from all inclusive.
What I did not like was there is no shuttle to the Tulum airport. We had found our own ride and the hotel concierge did not allow that driver to take us to the airport, they only allow cab drivers they request into the property for departing guests and the charge is $250 USD. That is ridiculous and a scam.
Everything else was good but I don’t appreciate being forced to take a cab ride that expensive. They also said the cab minimum is $40 USD to get into the property so even if you plan on going 1 mile off the property that’s what you can expect to pay.

All the green areas and the wild life is very nice, about vip I did not receive nothing except the fruit basket tha the monkeys eat it all.

I liked everything in the property. The room was spacious, the pool was amazing and the entertainment team was the best, and we had a lot of fun.
The beach was really nice and had lots of entertainment. The staff was happy and friendly.

This hotel's property is super unique as it was built surrounded by nature. There are a ton of free roaming monkeys, coatis and deers. They also have flamingos and some exotic birds. The beach area is pristine and clean. I loved watching the boats transport people to the parks. I enjoyed the xcaret show they had in the hotel. The rooms were clean, no issues there. My only gripe is that the hotel's food options were not great and the mexican music/entertainment gets loud and tiring after a few days.

Beautiful family friendly resort with a lot of fun animals to look at. Amazing staff and services. Front desk staff Brenda, bellboy Jose, information desk Ricardo are some names who helped us immensely. However, this resort requires a lot of walking so it is not a good option for people who cant walk that much. Also, the trolley service they have to pick up people is barely available. It does not come frequently sometimes even for over 30 mins. Food was okay. Beach is small but beautiful. Not to mention their check in takes forever. It took us over an hour to get to our room from check in. They should either hire more efficient people or make the system completely electronic. People should feel welcomed from the moment they step in a place. Check in took us so long that we started with an idea that the resort might not be that great. Also, pools arnt clean! Overall, we had an okay stay. Resort is beautiful and huge! We would definitely go back when our child is older.

This place is amazing and big! For the price and having the options of xcaret passes all day and stuff was amazing for my family trip. If on a budget and can experience xcaret at a cheaper price amazing

A fairly decent property for it’s age. The grounds staff are very proactive at maintaining the property. It’s also conveniently located next to the main Xcaret parks. The only things I would mention is that, one: this is what you might call a more “traditional” style Mexican resort in the “hacienda aesthetic” as opposed to the more vibrant modern style of others. If that’s what you’re looking for, then you’ll be very pleased. Second: they don’t go out of their way to say in the booking page that this hotel/resort is NOT affiliated with the main Xcaret brand, it is owned by a different company and as such, there are little surprises like the parks not being included in the price (which if you watch the wrong YouTube videos, you might get the impression they they are) also (and this is HUGE) they do not share the free airport shuttle with the main resort… so plan accordingly! You do NOT want to deal with this problem at the airport! All in all, a good experience. I would and will come back!

All in all this property was fantastic with incredible staff, service, and stunningly beautiful. Lots of options for food. Close to Xcaret and xplor park. Great shows and entertainment every night. The only thing I did not like was the consistency of asking to go through their time share presentation. We had to say no every day. I would think after the first 3 days of no they would sore their role. However, they were always kind and polite with my reflection. Will def return. It was an amazing trip

Overall, it was a nice resort, but the food was just OK. With a five-night stay, you only get three restaurant reservations. You will have to eat the rest at the general buffet.

My partner and I traveled all the way from New Zealand, excited for our stay, but what we got was a complete nightmare. The room was disgusting—the duvet cover was dirty, the shampoo dispenser was broken, and the hair dryer didn’t even work. To make things worse, the aircon vents were caked in dust and grime. When I went to the front desk to complain and showed them pictures of the state of the room, the staff was shockingly rude and couldn’t have cared less. Instead of fixing anything, they just handed me a piece of paper to fill out a complaint. No apology, no solution. We will NEVER stay here again, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

Ok what you NEED to know.
LOCATION #1You can walk right into XCARET theme park. Or take a river boat.from the Resort
Beautiful views from the Back of the property where the ocean is.
All the Restaurants and Buffet....Food=Terrible. If you value the food for an All Inclusive this..isnt...it.
The property and rooms are a bit Old.. but overall IF ypu get the rate We did...well Worth it!
The STAFF is WONDERFUL! BUT if you book through EXPEDIA thwy IMMEDIATELY upgrade your Room to set you up for a Timeshare/Vacation Club presentation. #trap but again we booked our room for less than $150 a night soooo Worth it! Just politely decline the tour.

I really liked the hotel in general and especially the very attentive staff. Recommendation: the adult area should be for adults only.

Always our go to resort in Mexico! The staff goes above and beyond. Shout out to Monica C at the main buffet for the laughs and the tequila! Salazar and Illiana at the Steakhouse, for their beautiful smiles and for making our last night memorable! And last but not least, Enrique at the Sport Bar! Hands down the best bartender there! He kept the shots rolling!!!

This a beautiful place!!! However you have to walk everywhere. Not bad if you like to walk, but difficult for people on wheelchairs, handicap and elderly. The staff were amazing, always willing to help you and making sure you were doing ok. The food was ok for an all inclusive.

Outdated rooms

Some members of the staff restaurants and cleaning ladies to rude. Dirty linen towels at restaurants.
4.0 / 5.0
The wildlife you see and interact with there is a neat experience. The grounds are beautiful but is large to walk around in and gets a little confusing. The only places that are air conditioned are the guest rooms, shops and the restaurants that you have to make reservations for. “Everywhere”else is open and humid. They have a slow response to housekeeping request and room service. Room service is expensive also. Building 20 has some 1st floor rooms that have a back deck that is connected to the pool and you can use a ladder to get in with.

the staff are super friendly.
hotel is 5 mins walk from Xcaret. you will never gonna be bored.

they do not offer lotion and conditioner. the shampoo and shower gel seems weird.
other than than everything is perfect!

Room was very clean. Our building was almost at the end of the property and had a long walk to the reception area. Plys the staff outside the building kept harassing us about a membership the were offering and called my room early in the morning and didn't get to sleep late. Honestly never staying at this property again.
