Excellent. Food should be better in restaurants inside the hotel. Other than that, amazing.

After a family emergency I had to depart Nizuc ONE DAY early, sadly. However, Hotels.com and Nizuc - together - continued to shift blame to one another in an effort to overcharge me for a night I did not stay.
Emergencies happen and sadly this resort and Hotels.com DO NOT CARE about you and your family. They only care about your MONEY. This is absolutely disgusting. I will never use hotels.com again in my life. This booking site lacks support, communication, empathy and dignity.
Save yourself the trouble and book with the resort DIRECTLY.

This is a very nice hotel where a lot of effort has been put into the design and the ambience, especially at night. The rooms are very nice. The staff is very attentive and the service is very good. While the beaches look beautiful they are not nice to experience, the main one's bottom floor is a mixture of mud and sand (not a nice experience when you walk on it - and you will because it's not deep and it's long) and the other one is very short as its bottom is covered in sea plants a short distance from the edge. This was disappointing for a beach hotel of this standing. Also, a part from the restaurants, and two bars, there was almost no night entertainment (only one night there was live music).

Property is beautiful and private. We were in a larger room with ocean front views so it was spacious. Problem is the lack of attentiveness of staff. They will greet you but when it comes to certain things, don’t expect much. The adult pool area was not well maintained, at least compared to other resorts we have been to like Banyan Tree or St. Regis. Staff walk by empty bottles, glasses, towels without any effort to clean. Havana Bar is gorgeous. We were there (7/24-7/27) and they had live music. Good luck getting someone to take an order or bring you the bill. It’s essentially self serve. Same with breakfast. No one is around to tend to you. We asked for ice one night and 3 hours later never received it. We had a room butler but they tend to ignore requests. The spa is out of this world and the staff there were truly amazing, especially Trinidad. The hydro therapy treatment is wonderful. This property will extract as much out of you as they possibly can. Food is mediocre at best and pricey. Best to go into town and spend that money at better restaurants. Most nicer resorts do tend to fail on quality of food to be honest but the prices here are exorbitant. 950 pesos for ribeye tacos that were not good. If they were, then not an issue.
Finally, they have a serious mosquito problem and possible bed bug issue. My wife woke up with tons of little bites on her back. Strange because at the pool mosquitos were biting her feet and arms but not her back at all.
