There is a shuttle nearby but it is very limited. If you want to go to downtown area you have to walk 30 min or drive and pay for the parking fee. The town is small and nice.

This was a comfortable hotel. It is located near the Garden of the Gods and Pike's Peak. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was average.

The hotel was very well located. You could walk to the departure station of the free shuttle to the Manitou Incline and the Pikes Peak terminal. It was also very quiet so I slept very well. The room had everything you needed. The continental breakfast was pretty ok, with boiled eggs and a waffle maker.

the best parts were the location and the room was pretty clean. the breakfast wasn't amazing, very basic cold breakfast. ice machine wasn't working, my hairdryer in my room didn't work, pool had chipping paint everywhere. I know we weren't there during heavy tourist season but it just seemed like minimal staff and minimal effort.

a microwave in room would have helped tremendously when trying to save money while on vacation. other than that everything was okay

All as advertised, so good. A little far from town center so not walkable for us, and in-town parking is about $3 per hour. Manitou is not quiet anymore, not the hotel's fault. Not sure the difference between a hotel and a motel these days--room entrances are on the outside (not inside halls). Lobby furniture is very worn--not a great first impression.

It was a decent hotel for the price. The continental breakfast was good. Something to note, the lobby closes at 10:30pm so may have problems if arriving late.

The Magnuson was a great surprise. The beds were comfy, breakfast was continental (cereal, milk, juice, instant oatmeal, hard boil eggs, yogurt, and more). Nice shower, room set up was a plus (shower and toilet separate room) and sink outside. While the hotel was not fancy, all their amenties and cleaniess, etc. was all we needed.

Hotel was clean. The only downside was we were told the bus stop was across the street was a free ride to the shopping district. It wasn’t and was very confusing. Luckily the bus driver didn’t charge us and got us to where we wanted to go.

Overall we were pleased with how clean the hotel was. They even made our beds daily. Breakfast was OK nothing to write home about. There is a pool there. The hotel is off a busy road so traffic can be loud. All doors to hotels are exterior entrance so neighbors can be loud. Since we stayed for Labor’s Day long weekend we had to pay approximately $160 per night for a room with 2 Q beds. Compared to other hotels and area this was the best I could find. Beware they have multiple locations with the same hotel name.

Everything was great

We had a comfortable stay. The front desk staff were friendly. The only issue we had was that we left to climb the Incline. We took our things in case we went back in time. We came back 1 1/2 hrs before checkout, and they were cleaning the room already. We had wanted to use our room to shower and change.

Well kept, older property with friendly staff. Free shuttle stop access across the street, a park nearby and lots of parking with a great view of Pike’s Peak. I would stay here again.

I would always recommend staying somewhere like the Magnuson to keep your car (if you have one) well away from downtown Manitou. This hotel is within walking distance and just across from a shuttle stop that makes it easy to do so. Rooms are big, pool is well above average for the area—no real complaints about the property itself.
However, I'm disappointed that the following could even be advertised as "breakfast" and especially that you can't eat this so-called breakfast without producing absurd and unnecessary amounts of plastic/styrofoam waste. Tasteless bagels are individually wrapped in ziploc bags. This is unacceptable for any hotel today, but especially one nestled in a mountain retreat like Manitou. Please catch up to the modern age.

No smoking of any kind - but rooms sure smelled like it

I took offense to them forcing me to review and sign their extremely long list of rules and regulations. They staff upon check in was not very friendly. I would stay there again if I had to, but would probably choose a chain hotel next time.
