I like Surf Motel, even though it does not have an ocean view, because it is reasonably priced, well-maintained, and the central garden area gives it a special, homey feel. Traffic noise is not a consideration, and the location is convenient to Fort Bragg's features and very close to the harbor.

First off the room that they gave my was not cleaned from the previous people so they had to find us another room. So the next room someone wiped the toilet seat and left hair all over it or the room was not even cleaned, the shower door leaked water onto the floor so we had to throw towels down, the bed was just awful hard as a rock one Sid of the bed was so broken down when my husband sat down he said he felt like he was going to slide right off, no checkout instructions, so we took the key card back up to the office and the guy who was working was not friendly he just said leave it there. I’ve stayed here once before and had a good experience but this time it was not good I will be staying at another hotel.

Good for the price. Our unit had a kitchenette, but no clothing closet to hang our dresses for the wedding we were attending.

Showing its age. Remodeling needed. Mostly clean but microwave was filthy and socks from prior guest left in bathroom. The garden was useable but needed maintenance. Nice to have our dog welcome for $20 extra per night.

Check in time is 4:00PM. Arrived 4:15. Friendly front staff. Go to room about 4:30, only to be told come back in 45 minutes, it's not ready yet. After 4 hours of driving, that's not what one wants to hear.

He mumbled through the times for breakfast and some other things that I didn't quite catch, like he just wanted me out of their lobby, very rude. The room smelled danky so much that wanted to go to a store to purchase air freshener. There was black mold in the shower! I'm glad we only stayed here one night. The online pics were misleading, as were the ratings. Nope, not staying here again.

Excellent stay. Older remodeled hotel with nice gardens and dog park. The only issue is in our dog approved room, the chair smelled musty. Otherwise, excellent stay. Great for the price on a Friday as well. Would definitely stay there again.

Older place but nicely redone. Fridge didn't work - checked that it was plugged in & it was. Took a walk around the property - some nice garden areas & a green space with a small dog park & picnic area with grills. Property is big. Not much else to walk to but that's fine. Glad it's clean. Wish there were more than 2 small pillows but appreciated the extra blanket.

Good room, nicely decorated. Carpet had a few marks but everything else was clean and tidy.
Nice and quiet as our room was at the back of property away fromm the road. Nice to have an area to eat breakfast.

The place was very clean and Stormy at the from desk was very kind and helpful. Free breakfast was ok. The showers are fantastic! Hot water and loads of water pressure. Only issue was getting the room cleaned. Stayed 3 nights and no cleaning service. Had to hand trash and dirty towels to a passing person requesting clean ones. But nice "garden" area to hang out at. Great place for breakfast around the corner.

Spacious, comfortable room, clean and very well equipped. Staff was courteous, good selection of breakfast items. Very much appreciated that we could check in right away when we arrived early. Very reasonable price too.

A random person tried to knock at my door at 3am to get me to come outside. I also got charged $13 extra than what I booked for, but didn’t notice till later because I was exhausted (didn’t push it since I should’ve caught it)
