Cant say enough great things about The DeSoto! A class act all the way. Great location for walking to many attractions. Very comfortable corner room with a balcony.

Great stay, very nice lobby and rooms. Pool and gym on the 2nd floor roof and coffee/food options. Location is an easy walk to everything we looked for.

the hotel was nice, staff was great, but internet is spotty

Hotel clean and charming. Was in an adjoining room and could hear everything through the door. Also the water didn’t work in the shower. It was fixed the same night but very inconvenient.

Wonderful stay. Great room, very comfortable beds, we will return.

The DeSoto Hotel is not what it used to be. You can tell it’s now owned by new impersonal folks from somewhere else who have worked hard to instill their impersonal attitude to staff. In the past, you could always get a 30 minute or even 1 hour late checkout to 12 noon. These folks won’t even give you a minute. I always stayed here in the past and recommended to many. I’ll never stay here again when in Savannah.

We only spent the night, but as usual Savanah, never disappoints.
Breakfast was delicious and very reasonable.

Location: Right in the heart of Savannah’s History Park - perfect for exploring, as long as you don’t mind your own personal drama playing out in real time.
Room/View: The balcony? Gorgeous. The view? Perfect for sipping coffee and wondering if this hotel is haunted by the ghost of good customer service past.
Customer Service: 1/5 (or -5 if I could go lower)
Now, here's where the plot thickens. One word: Cassandra. We checked in around 11 PM, and despite the late hour, the night clerk was surprisingly friendly, agreeing to a one-hour late check-out for us (12 PM, nothing too crazy). We thought we'd won the hotel lottery.. but that was just the opening act.
The next morning, I went to double-check our late check-out request and found Cassandra. Cue dramatic music. When I asked for the same late check-out, her response was less "Southern Hospitality" and more "Southern Hostility." She practically bit my head off like I was asking for a free lifetime supply of waffles at breakfast. "NO," she said, with all the warmth of a frozen iguana.
We were left scrambling, packing at the speed of light and getting ourselves together like we were in a spy movie, trying to check out before the hotel threw us out on the street. (Okay, maybe not that extreme, but it felt like it.)
Parking: Oh, and btw, parking will cost you $45 per night.

very helpful and friendly staff. The room was clean. Housekeeping came every day without having to ask for it. They stored our bicycles and provided 24h access to them so it was easy to pick them up and drop them off again.

Located right downtown, super clean, very friendly/helpful staff. Very comfortable bed

Great spot away from the River Walk to keep noise down in the busier part of downtown Savannah. Staff was very, very friendly. Valet made parking easy. Great for a night or two stay.

My wife and I vacation in Savannah at least one per year and we always stay at the DeSoto.
It's convenient to everything we like to do and places we like to visit during our stay in Savannah. It's a great hotel.

The employees alaijah and Alexis was everything!! My birthday was on thanksgiving day and they made sure my day was special and my stay was one to remember, the hotel rooms was nice the bathroom could’ve been a lot more cleaner but other than that it was a 10/10

The toilet made loud screaming sounds off and on every ten to twenty minutes. Everything was cracked and in poor condition in the bathroom.

I loved my stay. Best location and the hotel was great. The only issue (which is small) I called before I booked and wanted a hotel with a heated pool. They said they had a heated pool but when I arrived the pool was freezing and they said they do not have a heated pool.

This was my fourth stay at The Desoto. The location is perfect. The rooms are a bit banged up, but clean and comfortable. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Front desk staff were wonderful. The room was a standard hotel room. Great views though. The plumbing was very loud from the rooms above us. Valet did get pen on the center armrest of our car, which we noticed after we left. :/ Overall, it was a nice stay, but would probably stay elsewhere next time.

Staff was ok. The people working the kiosk for coffee and snacks did not care if you were there or not. Room looked clean, bed comfy, no bedbugs, but mattress had a little mold on it- but it’s in moist Savannah. The hot water thing for coffee didn’t work, no fridge for leftovers, ceiling and walls marked up, but we were actually satisfied because we were hardly in the room except to sleep.

After an enjoyable stay two years ago, we came back with family and stayed for a night in town.
1 o’clock in the morning, the nightmare started unbelievable noise in our room call reception finally got moved to another room to sleep was not a pleasure. And no real hot shower in the morning no hairdryer and coming back to our original room continental our fridge was gone and couldn’t be found.. I see the hotel has some maintenance issues. Hope it will come back to his original charm..

Average stay. The $75 per night deposit for what the hotel offers seems steep. Rooms and facilities could use some TLC. Emergency alarm went off at 3:30 AM one morning and hotel staff did not seem to have a good protocol in place which was concerning. Good, walkable area to most things in downtown Savannah.

The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because there was no free self parking available.

Great stay! This was our second time staying at this hotel and we love it. It’s got great amenities, and it’s centrally located to so much great stuff! And there is good food, drink and a coffee shop on site. Can’t beat it.
