Super clean, everything I needed. Nice quality room update. Noisy, but it seems that people don't care about other guests anymore. Some road noise. Extreme nice staff. Excellent value... thank you so much!

A passable “budget” motel. Very dated and tiny bathroom.

Stayed twice at Buccaneer Inn on road trip around Vancouver Island. Excellent self-catering facilities (microwave, full size stove top & oven, toaster, kettle, utensils, etc.) in clean and spacious 'apartment' with separate bedroom Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Ample parking and very convenient location for ferry terminal. Only real negative was slightly noisy at night from nearby roads. Would stay again.

I chose the property because it was in walking distance of the ferry and we only stayed one night, but the room was fitted with a kitchen and living room and had a nice view of the water (across the road). It looked like it would be a very good place to stay for a longer visit to the Nanaimo area. It was also very clean and had a good coffee maker.

Al Taf, especially thank you for your flexibility to accommodate my changed trip plan. If you had room appliances upgraded and air condition installed, I would be happy to come back to your place for my another summer trip to Nanaimo and Torino!

First of all, the front desk staff could not have been better. FANTASTIC front desk staff…. Hands down.
Regarding the room, hot but the fan helped a bit. The bathroom floors were very sticky… didn’t want to walk barefoot. Wiped it down w/a washcloth and still sticky.
Comforter had a stain but had been washed and set in.
But again… front desk staff couldn’t have been nicer.

The Buccaneer is obviously run by people who care deeply about doing a great job. It was really clean, comfortable, and the staff were all friendly, kind, and helpful.
There was a minor problem with the weather stripping of the door, and this was taken care of immediately upon notifying the front desk.
The only disappointment was that the laundry facilities have been closed down - this was not reflected on Hotels.com nor on the hotel's own website, so we had counted on having that available. Otherwise, a lovely stay!

We needed to stay within walking distance of the ferry terminal as we had several bags and no car. The Buccaneer was just right. It took us 15-20 minutes, taking our time. We arrived a couple of hours before check in. Our room was not quite ready but the manager on duty kindly let us keep the bags in his office, he even carried them all in for us. We had lunch at one of the pubs opposite then returned to check in. It was our first motel, we liked the option of using the kitchen though we ate out. It had a kettle and cream for our cups of tea. Place was clean, perfectly fine for our one night stay. Very attentive staff, went out of their way to help.

This is our second visit to Namaimo. Last time we lived here, the children chose here for strong demand this time. It is cozy and convenient. The room is very big comparing to the price. The most important thing is that the staffs here are friendly, thoughtful and humorous. They made an amazing and thoughtful living and travel guide and put it in every suite. Thank you ALLY for preparing a clean and tidy room for us, thank you MUKUL and ALTAF for check-in & out for us and friendly humorous greetings and introductions, and thank you SARATH. My children and I had a wonderful stay everytime.

Overall building and location:
Older, but well maintained and upkept. Located on a corner of a fairly busy road, although provides safety and peace of mind being away from the downtown chaos and active drug use.
Review of Suites vs Queen room:
The Suites located on the second floor (I stayed in 3 different ones) are very comfortable and spacious. They come equiped with a small collection of books, deck of cards and a game to play in the room, not for taking home with you. Two standing fans for quality air circulation are in the Suites, although ceiling fans are above the main bed regardless of room type.
The Suites have shower/tub combo, whereas smaller room types only have a small standing shower.
The Suite bedrooms are on the backside of the building away from the main road and without a view of the water. Other room types have the room facing the road (and traffic noise), although they also have a large window facing the water and parking lot, unlike the Suites' bedrooms.
Each bathroom regardless of room type provided body wash, lotion and shampoo are "Tyneham- Calm" brand with essential oils.
Staff: friendly and helpful! I interacted with 3 different gentlemen and each of them wrre pleasant, professional and enjoyable.
Would i recommend? Absolutely! Best bang for your buck in the entire city. You feel safe, your vehicle is safe and within sight regardless of what room type you have, and on top of that they will give you free Mini Golf (Putt Putt) passes!
