Hotel itself was very nice and friendly, shower had grout and seemingly mold flakes build up at my feet. The restaurant at the lobby level was a terrible experience, food took an hour to arrive and both dishes ordered were practically inedible. “Crispy” wings were more like charcoal and crab dip was more greasy cheese with two lumps of meat. Fried okra would be better used as fertilizer. Food cost 80$ but ended up having to order dominoes which was fast and delicious. Overall not hotels fault but accountability is shared inside the building

The gentleman at the front desk asked if we had been to The Tennessean before. We said no. He said welcome to The Tennessean. That was it. No info on the hotel, the valet, what to do, where the restaurant/bar was. Nothing. Other than that, it was a nice stay.

Really Great hotel, probably one of the nicest I have ever stayed at, really clean and fresh, smelled really good, employees were really nice and helpful, valet was friendly and fast. However, things like the 7 dollar upcharge water bottles in the room take it down from a 5 star, also the AC didn't cool the room super well but otherwise it was a great hotel. The bar and food looked really good but I did not get a chance to sample them.

They gave my room away for the first night of my stay even after I was charged for it!! They claimed they didn’t have my reservation! All they could offer was an apology and send me on my way to find another hotel. Ended up at the Hyatt Place; they were so very nice and welcoming! Felt bad for us, matched the hotels.com price AND gave us 2 free drink coupons!
We returned to the Tennessean the following evening and everything was better although there were still NO concessions made for their error in overbooking and giving my room away. We were there for a wedding and everyone else in the family stayed there the entire time.

The ambiance was set when we walked in were greeted by name by the best dressed desk clerk ever in a stylish suit and lovely bow tie. Throughout our stay he never failed to greet us by name and inquire how our stay was going and ask if anything was needed. The hotel was a ten out of ten but my bowtied friend made it even better. We will definitely be !!

This hotel had very friendly staff and spacious rooms/bathrooms. Unfortunately, it's on a major road and we heard fire trucks, police and loud cars all night long.
