About this house rental

Luxurious, all new 'Farmhouse Modern', 4800 sq ft home, located on secluded 5 acres of lawns, meadows and woodland, in the heart of North Fork wine and farm country.

The property has been completely renovated 'down to the studs', including all new bathrooms and kitchen. The Interior and furnishings were inspired by the latest in modern design as well as 18th and 19th Century classics. Many of the pieces now furnishing this house, once belonged to the Shorecrest Bed and Breakfast, a 19th century manor house that until recently operated as a BnB in Southold. The result is an eclectic look, a mixing of old and new, making a stay here, a remarkable experience, as was a stay at the Shorecrest. Not your average rental.

The layout of the house on the ground floor, consists of a Master Suite, 3 full bathrooms, an open plan living, dining and kitchen area with vaulted ceilings, plus 2 additional sitting and TV rooms, and a laundry area adjacent to the pool access bathroom.

Outdoor amenities include a spacious covered porch at the front entry, overlooking lawns and woods, and an enormous deck surrounding the large L shaped pool at the rear.

Ground Floor Amenities Include:
The large open plan living room, kitchen and dining area, with 17 foot ceilings is furnished with unique vintage pieces from the Shorecrest, mixed with the modern: Charcoal granite counters top the Kitchen cabinets, an Island and Peninsula. Cordovan leather and black iron bar stools lining the counters, offer a more casual eating and sitting option while keeping the cook company.

Lighting is provided by a central 18th century New Orleans French, blown glass chandelier, that used to illuminate the 1850s Shorecrest living room, plus banks of recessed spot-lights that can be bright or dimmed, according to desired mood.

The mid-century Henredon walnut and ebony dining table, with matching chairs, seats 10 and is accented at one end by an elegant mirror over mid 18th century hand painted sideboard.

A central fireplace beneath a smart TV, creates a family friendly gathering place with views of the park-like setting to be enjoyed through facing sets of French doors, opening onto the pool deck in the rear, and spacious porch in the front.

A separate Den/ TV room with 65" smart TV and fireplace provide a second cozy gathering place, off the hall behind the living room. Next to it, is a full bathroom.

The ground floor Master Bedroom suite consists of an ADA compliant sitting room, bathroom and bedroom. The sitting room can be accessed from both inside the house or by French doors leading from its own private deck adjoining the pool area. The sitting room is furnished with a pull-out Queen sofa bed as well as a smart TV.
The ensuite bathroom features a walk-in shower with French doors for easy access to wheelchair or walker, as well as an extra deep tub and double sink. The master bedroom is furnished with a mid-20th Century California King Sleigh Bed, a Victorian mirrored armoire and a recently restored Queen Anne chest of drawers.

At the opposite end of the living area, a short hallway leads to a full bathroom next to a separate Pool entry door and laundry area. The pool is equipped with plenty of seating, including outdoor sofas and dining table for conversation and eating, pool lounge chairs and Adirondacks for sunning and relaxing. The pool is heated and uses saltwater technology. The brand new barbecue grill is electric.

2nd floor:
There are 3 bedrooms, including a Master Suite, with canopied Queen bed and ensuite bathroom on the second floor. A second bedroom is furnished with a vintage Queen four poster bed, and the 3rd has two full beds; great for teenagers, children or extra overnight guests. These latter two rooms share an oversize bathroom with shower.

Located a short, 5 minute drive to Mattituck's Love Lane and Cutchogue Village, there are multiple vineyards close by as well as some of the best restaurants on the North Fork, famous for its farm to table cuisine.

It’s the kind of private resort you never really need or want to leave, but if you are looking for a change of pace, from frolicking in your own pool, and cooking in your gourmet’s dream kitchen, the North Fork is also famous for its many charming beaches.
