It is a lovely location, but beyond that we struggled to find more that we liked
We felt mislead by some of the pictures on booking.com which did not reflect the room that we were provided with. The bedroom photograph did not appear to be a picture of the 'bungalow with fan'. The staff explained that the problem was related to booking.com, not them, and accordingly deflected responsibility. The reality is 'basic' at best, though 'run down' is probably more accurate. Bare light bulbs, holes in the mosquito net, a stained bed sheet and we had to clear dead cockroaches off my daughter's bed. The room started off fairly clean but because no housekeeping is provided, after 3 nights it was pretty grotty. Some of the staff were surly and to a degree that we felt uncomfortable approaching them, for example, with asking if they might clean our room (we had assumed that this was a service that would be provided). I got the impression that the owner is not present on site. Les Barracudas in our view lacks leadership and standards. They do not provide a means to pay with visa and there is no local ATM, hence you'll need to bring a lot of cash.

Location is quite and magnificent, staff super friendly, rooms are nice and Les Barracudas has a good kitchen. Great mangrove tours and other activities to do for everyone!! New Year’s Eve event with traditional music was the best we have had in years!
Location is perfect, but someway remote so you need to take enough time traveling to Les Barracudas

It wasn't clear how difficult access to the site is.

Las Barracudas is one of the most peaceful places I have ever stayed in. We loved the location. It has a really calming vibe. The staff is absolutely friendly and helped us in every aspect we we needed a helping hand.

I love how calm it was, clean, and just serene. The people were so amazing, nice, and really accommodating. They made sure my husband and I were confortable during our whole stay. The food was amazing and the activities were even better. We did so many things and every time we did something we encountered people that made it worthwhile. Job really well done to everyone.
I liked everything.

Les Barracudas is very remote and is a uniquely peaceful place to visit. It was the place we felt the most removed from our busy lives in London and was the top highlight of our holiday to Senegal and The Gambia.
There are lovely views over the Delta to soak in. It is very quiet with only the noise of singing birds or local fisherman in the background. The meals are simple, but delicious. It is not high-end luxury, but the environment and location is totally special. The air-con in the bedroom was a welcome addition.
The staff are so welcoming and friendly. They made our visit feel very special. A particular mention to Adama for being so kind, always saying hello at every dinner and for helping us with our transport away from the lodge. Nothing was too much trouble.
We saw lots of birds in the area and were completely relaxed. A true highlight of the trip.
We are not knowledgeable bird watchers, but we suspect there may be more birds nearer the coast as Les Barracudas is fairly inland. However, we were happy with the birds we saw! Lots of kingfisher!

Incredible location (and difficult to get to, which is great). Rustic and basic but nice rooms and restaurant, much more joyful and quiet than the artificial beauty of other hotels! Loved it...

Les Barracudas is a charming little oasis with a spectacular view of the mangroves in Sokone. The bungalows are spacious and can sleep up to four. We had a bungalow that faces the mangroves and were not far from the water. The hotel is small and family run. Adama and his family make sure you feel welcome and are very accommodating. If you've never been, call the hotel beforehand to ensure you have directions. They will send someone to meet you off the main road as you have to off road to get to the hotel. At the hotel you can go kayaking among the mangroves, swim in the pool and just lounge about. Fathalla is close by so you can easily do a day trip there. The bridge at Foundioune cuts off about an hours worth of driving to be sure to take that to get there.
There was no AC in the bungalows but generally we were able to manage because the weather drops significantly at night. The last night we were there one of our bungalows got infested by nats and there was nothing we could do about it. The kitchen makes great meals but choices are limited.

Beakfast was terrible. Staff was sleeping, we tried to wake them up to not die of starving.
Just location.
