Star Of The Sea Cottage is located directly across from Dunne's Ice Cream and a quick walk to the most photographed lighthouse in New England, The Nubble Lighthouse! Comfortably sleeping 6, this 3 bedroom, 1 bath cottage (+ outdoor shower) is the perfect getaway to Maine. Enjoy the amazing views, convenient location and the comfort of feeling like you are home. The owners of this home have taken exceptional care to provide every amenity you will need and an ultra CLEAN environment. You will love walking in and just escaping into the views of the deep blue ocean and the amazing lighthouse. You will even catch glimpses of our local wildlife as the deer, ducks and sometimes fox come strolling across the lawn! We are so lucky in York. We have 4 beautiful public beaches to choose from, and if that is not enough, take a quick ride to Ogunquit and enjoy that public beach, great shopping and dining as well. Or make a day of it and jump on board a whale watching boat or deep sea fishing vessel in Perkins Cove. If bargain shopping is what you are looking for, we have the great factory outlets in Kittery, just down the road. Come back after a day out and wile away the afternoon with a glass of wine and good book. Be careful...you won't want to leave! Downtown York Beach is about 5 minutes from this conveniently located home. There, you will find many more restaurants, bars, shopping, a great playground for the kids and York's Wild Kingdom. This is a zoo and small amusement park. Play mini-golf, ride the Carousel, see the animals and enjoy some cotton candy. Better yet, stroll to Fox's Restaurant for drinks and dinner but save room for ice cream from the famous Dunne's Ice Cream shop directly across the street! The view and location is great. It's a good 15 minute walk to short sands but if you take Kendall Street, most of the walk has great views of the ocean and not a lot of traffic. The property itself is not luxurious but extremely comfortable and it has everything you need. If I had to find a negative, we would have liked better options to dry our wet bathing suits and towels but I guess the ice cream shop a few steps away compensates for it!

Traveling with husband and our two college aged sons for our summer vacation. We switched to this location from another place that was closer to Acadia and we couldn’t have been happier with our decision. Parking was easy, the accommodations were perfect for our family and the views from the porch and living room were perfect. We made daily walks down to the lighthouse at night and it was a peaceful place to sit. Definitely would recommend!

Another relaxing stay at this cottage. Walking distance to the lighthouse/park and ice cream shop. Short drive to the beach(es). Fantastic view of the Nubble. Clean space with plenty of amenities. The hotel behind the property hosts outdoor wedding receptions on some weekend evenings. This mostly impacted our visit when it happened on a night too warm to close up all the windows. Music usually started around dinner time and they were always done by 9:30pm. Had a great vacation and look forward to coming back!

This house was absolutely gorgeous. The view was incredible and the pictures, although accurate, did not do it justice. We could not have stayed in a better place. Clean, cozy, comfortable, well stocked and beautifully decorated! Would highly recommended!!

My husband and I stayed at this cottage for a short work/ pleasure vacation. It is a quaint cottage with convenient location. Having been to York many times (my husband formerly lived in the area), we couldn't have asked for a better location to unplug!

What an immaculate property. So well kept. We loved how every detail was well done, from the decorations to the instructions, even to the welcome gift. Everything was so thoughtful. We truly enjoyed our stay and the view is to die for!!! Will consider a return.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Star of the Sea Cottage. The view was spectacular of the Nubble Lighthouse and Dunne’s ice cream was just across the street. The cottage was so clean and perfect for our long weekend visit.

We had the best week at the Star of the Sea. You cannot get a better view of the ocean and Nubble Lighthouse! As ice cream lovers, having Dunne’s across the street was the icing on the cake. The house is super clean and has absolutely everything you need to enjoy your stay. We have rented many houses and none were as well equipped as this one. We are hoping to rent again next year.

The location of this property cannot be beat. Great views of the ocean and light house from living room, kitchen and deck. Close to beaches and downtown area. The property was clean and perfect for a week getaway.

This house had an amazing view, comfy beds, fully stocked kitchen and clean! We did receive an email from a property management company about linens, which I replied to and then never got a reply. Overall it was a 5 star stay, my only recommendation would be to leave a contact person on the house info sheet. Other than that it was an amazing trip! Thank you!

What a gorgeous location for views and convenience. We loved watching the lighthouse through the many changes in the weather and sky. Another favorite part was being serenaded by a group of songbirds in a large tree by the porch; most made an appearance for photos. We plan to come back if my mom is still able to do the outside stairs next year. The three of us thought the one bathroom and shower was fine; moreover, we have owned property by water and understand the limitations that a beautiful location can put on water/septic upgrades. Our best stay out of 3 rentals. The only difficulty I had was getting a response to several questions I asked for months; however, when I talked to an associate of the property, she mentioned I wouldn't have communication problems if I would have booked through a different site. Either way, we loved the place and we will return.

We gathered family together for a six-night stay at Star of the Sea. From the first moment, we were enchanted by the astonishing Nubble Light and ocean views, but also charmed by the comfortable, cozy, and clean cottage, which had everything you need to relax and cook in. Over the course of our stay, we spent many hours enjoying the views from the deck and the living room, particularly one night as we watched a lightning storm pass over us to the sea. Everything about the place was terrific and the proximity to so many attractions (Portsmouth, Portland, Kittery) was another plus. We're already looking forward to returning together.

We loved our stay!! The view and location were amazing (we ate way too much Dunne's ice cream)! The house was so thoughtfully stocked and curated, with little notes and signs to make it really easy to operate everything. Would highly recommend staying here!!
