The second floor apartment sleeps 4 people in two double bedrooms. It has a fully equipped open kitchen and dining room and a light and airy living room with a partial view of Hallgrimskirkja and a beautiful bathroom in Art Deco style. Full oak floors / black slate flooring throughout. Decorated and refurbished with only the very best. We tried to think of everything: flat screen, home cinema, Wifi, washing machine/dryer, dish washer, iron, fully equipped kitchen, mini library with English (and some German) language books, board games - and even some Icelandic/Scandinavian art pieces and original art!

Towels and bedding for both bedrooms are all provided, and of course included in the price.
Further details outdoors:
Not far from the sea, extremely close to all amenities (geothermal pool, shopping, supermarket, artisanal bakeries, central restaurants and coffee bars and all museums and exhibitions) with easy (metered) parking on street and close by.
Location description from owner : The Capital Region, Down Town
Reykjavik 101, the absolute heart of Iceland...
Reykjavik is the capital of Iceland. A small cosmopolitan city which has most of the things a traveler would need and want. Trendy shopping, fashionable cafes, great restaurants as well as theatres, museums and music houses.
The apartment has the perfect location, with most things just around the corner!
We are also very close to several tour bus pick up/drop off points, all just 2 to max 5 minutes walk away.
1 - 5 Minutes Walk from the apartment
Stroll down Laugavegur, the main shopping street with its many exclusive Icelandic design stores, restaurants, cafes, 24 hour supermarket... Plus one of Iceland's ubiquitous Bonus supermarkets, and Sandholt, arguably the best bakery in Reykjavik. Then cool off again at Sundhollin, the oldest geothermal swimming pool in Reykjavik with its original 1930's features and hot tubs on the balcony, recently completely renovated and expanded, where you can swim or just relax in the warm water pools, steam room and jacuzzis, whatever the time of day. Enjoy a delicious cappucino and slice of carrot cake in one of the cosy coffee bars close by, and if you feel like staying in and ordering a pizza, we have the absolute best pizzeria in Reykjavik just a little way up the road!
5 - 10 Minutes Walk from the apartment
Visit Hallgrimskirkja, Iceland's very own Empire State Building, a beautiful church that's illuminated with colours at night... Or go down to the sea, stand at the coastline and just enjoy... And check out Solfar, Jon Gunnar Arnason's beautiful sculpture of a viking ship, situated at the water. Visit the antiques and fleamarket at Kolaportid.
10 - 15 Minutes Walk from the apartment
Feed the ducks at Tjornin, the big City Pond. Afterwards, pop into the City Hall and have a look at the enormous 3D Reykjavik map. Have a drink on Austurvollur, the main public square surrounded by the Parliament and Domkirkjan, the oldest church in town. Don't forget to visit Harpa, Reykjavik's hyper modern Concert Hall. Stroll over to the harbour and join a whale watching expedition, then visit the Whale museum, or even Fly Over Iceland, and finish off the day with a delicious meal at one of the many fabulous restaurants Reykjavik has to offer.

The property was large, clean, and in a great location! Communication with Sue was easy, she was so responsive to all of our questions. We really enjoyed our stay and felt at home in this place. It was very well stocked in the kitchen, and there was lots of information about area attractions, grocery stores, restaurants, etc. If we are back in Reykjavík, we will definitely try to stay here again!

Our family if 4 stayed in the apartment for 4 nights. It is spacious and well equipped with everything you could need. The living area has many windows and is bright and cheery. We enjoyed relaxing there after our full days of exploring. The location of the apartment is perfect… so close to the main shopping street but still quiet. Communication with Sue was seamless from booking to check out. She is a lovely host and provided great details and recommendations. Free parking was available a few blocks from the apartment and was easy to access. All in all, we had a wonderful vacation and so enjoyed our home away from home in Reykjavik. Don’t hesitate to book this lovely gem.

This lovely property was an excellent fit for our family of four (two adults and two older teenagers). The location was ideal, finding parking nearby was not an issue at all and the bright and open living space was an unexpected treat. The property owner was kind, communicative and very helpful right from the time of booking our stay almost a year in advance. We would certainly go back.

Been to Reykjavik a few times. This location is close to other apartments we’ve stayed in but easily the best. Everything easily walkable. Huge space, perfect for our family with 2 teenagers (a girl and a boy). Paid parking anywhere close, free parking 2 blocks away.

We had a short 3 night stay in Iceland, family of 4. This apartment was perfect for us. The location is excellent - very close to bus stops for tour pickups, or just walking around Reykjavík.
The apartment is spacious and clean. Having a washer/dryer is a great bonus as well.
Sue was very communicative before and during our stay- a great host.
Would recommend to family and friends and would stay here again for sure.

Our family of 4 (kids 16 and 11) used Downtown Reykjavik apartment as our hub for our weeklong vacation to Iceland. The lodging is beautiful, spacious, quiet, perfectly located and so comfortable. Sue was super easy and on top of everything. She even took time to answer my traveler questions about accessing various sites and suggestions for our itinerary. I loved Iceland and want to return in a future summer. I would definitely use this apartment again.

Beautiful warm apartment. Welcoming and cosy. Wished we had longer in Iceland. Definitely check out Sundhollin pool. Perlan is also worth a visit. South Coast tour was a long day but definitely worth it. Already planning to return in the Summer months sometime. Fireworks were insane!!

Clean, well furnished, great location close to a nice variety of restaurants and pubs. The kitchen, living room, and master BR are very roomy and offer good views of the area. The second BR is a bit tight if you have large suitcases. The only negative, especially if you have large suitcases, would be the 2 flights of stairs. Paid city parking (Zone P2) was available on the street close to the entry door. Our host, Sue, was easy to communicate with via email and provided lots of useful info about local food, tourist sites, etc.

This apartment is in the perfect location to explore everything Reykjavik has to offer. Within 5-10 minute walk, you are right in the middle of everything - shops, dining, nightlife. One of the bus stops for tour pick-ups is 1.5 blocks away. The apartment is beautiful and very clean. Our family of four (boys are 20 & 17) had an amazing time and are already starting to plan our next trip. Highly recommend the Wake Up Reykjavik food tour - learn lots of history of the city and get to try many traditional dishes!

Nice well appointed property with good lighting. Trouble opening front door because of loose lock. Must go up 2 flights of stairs. Very good location near main shopping streets but still quiet.

Wonderful host, cosy well appointed apartment & your knowledge of Reykjavik and indeed Iceland made our visit.
I will leave a small plastic bag in kitchen trash bin since I must leave at the ungodly hour of 4am.
Wendy left earlier this evening.
You should find everything in good nick; easy place to keep tidy.
Many, many thanks & kudos for presenting us with such a lovely home away from home.
Our very best to you.

Had a wonderful stay in our center of town apartment. Our contact with the host was easy and they always responded promptly.
The apartment is steps away from the restaurant and shopping street of Laugavegur. But far enough away to not hear noise from the street.
The beds were comfortable, the living room large for nightime gatherings, and the apartment was very clean.
It is 2 flights up for those with mobility issues with stairs. We heard the neighbors a few times through the walls, but it never was bothersome.
If we return to Iceland, we would choose this apartment again. Cheers!

This property was a perfect home for us while we were visiting Iceland. It was nicely appointed, had any appliances and utensils we needed when we felt like cooking at home, and was in walking distance to everything in downtown Reykjavik, just steps away from the main shopping street, coffee shops, restaurants, and sightseeing. The apartment is very specious, had comfortable beds and cozy linens, great bathroom with a shower. We definitely will return when we are back to iceland. We had a car rental and parking was simple to find, and Easy Park app was great help for paying on a fly. If you have an electric vehicle like we had, there is a charging station next to the pool that made our recharging overnight super simple. I highly recommend this place. Sue was an amazing host, proactively communicated to us details and was very responsive. We were fortunate to find this apartment and have such a pleasant experience. Thank you

Apartment is as described. We enjoyed having the space to gather together as well as room apart to rest. The location was very convenient to activities around town. One note for older people - there are stairs - two long flights that you must carry your luggage up.
Thanks for sharing your apartment with us! We would stay there again if in Reykjavik.
