the front desk staff was super friendly and accommodating

3.5
Staff and location
Room was not well lit. Lights above desk didn't work, sheets had hair in them and had a faint nasty smell, as did a few of the towels.

It was standard but satisfying.
None!

Staff exceeds any high level expectation, convenient location, very comfortable room, perfect bed and good breakfast.
Carpet was not clean enough.

Staff were very helpful and had suggestions for restaurants in the local area including one that delivered to the hotel. We went over to Banditos for dinner and we're pleasantly surprised with the Mexican food being very authentic. We're from California and are rather picky when it comes to this. Lol.
We stayed there one night at the beginning of our vacation and one night at the end prior to going for a late flight in Detroit. They were very accommodating allowing for late checkout. The food for breakfast was very good. Having 24-hour coffee was a plus for my wife.
The beds were very very comfortable and the comforters that they use were very very nice.
The rooms have small vertical blinds instead of drapes or any blackout drapes. The lights from the parking lot being on all night long cast a significant amount of light into the room which could not be diminished in any way.
While I understand that putting in vertical blinds can decrease the amount of upkeep and costs associated with fabric drapes, it would be a plus to be able to have some way in which two block out some of the light that's coming into the room at night.

Friendly staff, coffee and hot water available, kitchen area for heating food and tables.
Overall a very dated property. The bathrooms are cheap motel quality

Great staff.

The staff were wonderful and helpful. Breakfast offered a nice variety but the scrambled eggs, greasy hash browns and spicy sausage were my least favorite. My son loved making his own waffles.
Hilton desperately needs to update and overhaul this hotel that’s in poor condition. Ann Arbor deserves better.

Our TV didn’t work.
Our WIFI didn’t work.
Otherwise good but you expect the TV to work, it’s basic.

Bed mattress was not comfortable at all. Very difficult to sleep.. Not familiar with area and found it a little difficult to locate. Would have liked a better sign.

Staff was friendly, they offered free breakfast from 6am to 9am and coffee was plentiful.
Television or the remote didn't work.

it was nice and in a nice location. Breakfast was good
I cannot understand why you charge $5 to park? it’s not like your in a big city. Never had to pay for parking in a town like Ann Arbor is. Keep your “complimentary” water & chips. and don’t charge for parking
4.5
Very good Breakfast, easy to and from location,
Smokers! Non smoking properties should include the entrance and parking lots.

Parking was extra, which was not disclosed beforehand.

Location. Safe neighborhood,
Had to pay $5 per night for parking in the hotel's parking lot. Out of two elevators, only one was working. We asked for a handicapped room. The room was at the very end of a long hallway. The person with me who had disabilities had a hard time walking from the elevator to last room on floor.
Thought breakfast hours should be extended. 9 am is an early time to quit serving breakfast. Consequently we did not eat breakfast at all at home.
Room was very dirty. Bathroom sink - water drained extremely slow!

Nice stay at this Hampton Inn. Staff was friendly and my 4th floor room was very clean and very quiet, which is what I cared most about. It's not swanky (friends were at the Doubletree across the road, which is more recently updated) and the carpet has seen better days, but I really appreciated the free coffee and tea in the lobby--it was nice to come back at the end of the day and have decaf and herbal teas to choose from. Breakfast was good, the scrambled eggs were actually edible and the coffee was very good. This was convenient to my family in north Ann Arbor and close to a really nice market (Plum Market) if you need a snack or bottle of wine. The bus to downtown leaves from right next to the hotel and was a pleasant ride for just $1.50!
On two occasions, my card key didn't work and I had to return to the lobby to have them update it.
Note to other travelers, there's no bar or restaurant. This didn't matter to me. One evening, a few people gathered in the "lobby" (which is really the breakfast room), which would be the option.
