A step back in time. An old fashioned hotel, with old fashioned personal service. A very peaceful place to stay.
Potentially uncomfortable in warmer summer weather due to small room size and no air conditioning. For a couple with only two carry on suitcases there was insufficient space in the room for storing our belongings. The bathroom was similarly lacking in space for personal items.

Room was clean, comfortable. Enjoyed being in an historic building. Staff were friendly and helpful. Enjoyed the relaxing nature of the tea/coffee room.
Nothing to say here.

Misleading on booking information. I realized after the fact that I booked an accommodation for a room with bath tub but they gave me a room within shower room. the information on booking.com mentioned breakfast. I was told my plan didn’t include breakfast. I know they sent a message about dress code prior to the trip, but you can easily overlook it. I paid over $250 for a night and the experience was just less than okay. Just an opinion.

it was situated within walking distance to attractions and restaurants
The unfriendliness of staff. There’s no coffee making facilities inside the room. You have to go downstairs to get one, and because of its very strict dress code you can’t go downstairs in slippers and night gown. We were told we had 24 hour access to grab a coffee however after my husband showered and got dress just to get one for us he was told by the nightman to come back at 7 am. We constantly had to ask the reception staff to have toiletries sent up to our room.

The history of the building, Club and its former members (there was an informative book in the room titled Our First 125 Years). The staff was very friendly. Everything was well maintained and clean.
The bathroom was clean and functional, but could be updated.

Breakfasts were delicious, loved the reading room,
We missed having a coffee machine in our room

We didn’t consume breakfast or lunch at the club. Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres in the lounge were enjoyable.
Our evening dinner was terrific, as was the service.
As we sat near the fireplace I noticed a mouse scramble underneath the table next to us. I did quietly mention it to our server. I thought you may be interested.
Overall, the experience was enjoyable.

unique, comfortable, cozy
The parking was far away and you had to get a fob and bring it back to the front desk each time you accessed it. This was extremely inconvenient. Also, the stairs to enter with our luggage was inconvenient.

Great staff and location. It is a heritage.building, so very nice. The parking is a couple of blocks away.
The parking. It being a heritage building there is no parking

Fulfilled our needs beautifully with a pinch of Old world style. Dress correctly and enjoy leather chairs and coffee in the reading room. Centrally located. We are a fun loving couple in our 60s and coming in late was not an issue.
All our expectations were met.

It is a fancy and vintage hotel. I’ve never been anywhere like this!
It wouldve been better if I had a bath in my room.

Beautiful historic building located near the waterfront. Loved the history in the building as we wandered from room to room. We had one waiter who pointed out some historical things to view in the dining room and the library.
The drop off area (temporary parking) is atrocious and a better system is needed. There were deliveries so the trucks occupied the white line areas and made it impossible to get out to check in. Driving around the block multiple times was frustrating to say the least. Also, please be more aware of the height restriction for your parking offered because anyone arriving with a truck cannot fit into your parking.
We were very aware of the dress code but it could have been more clear. It’s a little embarrassing to be told you can’t have a cocktail in the lounge because of what your wearing (and we were dressy casual). There were others I saw without collared shirts (2 men in sweaters only - possibly members which we were not) so it felt biased on some level and made us choose our lunch spot differently.
I wish we could have stayed overnight but a family emergency pulled us away at 10pm…we were looking forward to brunch in the dining room.

Location was excellent. The building is beautifully decorated.
They have a mice problem. This was shocking as this hotel was so concerned with a proper dress code. The mouse did not have a jacket!
The shower was slippery and I fell.

Great location. Tough to sleep due to heat and no AC.

The location was fantastic and the staff were helpful and friendly. The food served at the wedding we attended was delicious.
The room was very warm and quite uncomfortable. Although we appreciate the respectful nature of the dress code, but we felt uncomfortable using any of the common area because of it.

old charming building, tastefully decorated rooms, wonderful staff. very cool old elevator,Ike the ones you see in movies! We got takeout and ate out on the patio overlooking the ocean and watched the sunset. very close to restaurants and museums and all the fun stuff.
no air conditioning but they had some fans going which made the room comfortable. no screens or safety features on the windows which made me a little nervous with our toddler but can’t say another bad thing about this place. really lovely.
