Staff was lovely. Room was more than adequate.
Bathroom could use a renovation

The staff was extremely personable and friendly. The breakfast was simple but adequate and the atmosphere was quite nice and relaxing. The hotel had an overall antique french boutique feel which I didn't mind for a solo business travel, but I probably would not stay with my kids.
Hotel room was standard NY size, bathroom was a little tight and no counter space for those who have a morning routine including using a blow dryer. Also, blow dryer diffuser did not fit on the blow dryer (wrong size). The attached restaurant looked nice, but could not accommodate 1 for a weeknight dinner.

Love the location and club room.
The breakfast did not have many savory options. They used to serve a cooked breakfast there but no longer do this. Also used to have wine and cheese but not now. It’s the little things that made this hotel special.

Location, staff, excellent breakfast included
Needs more outlets for electronics.

It’s a small and personable hotel and the staff are helpful and pleasant. One major plus is the guest lounge on the second floor furnished with comfortable armchairs and couches with discreet classical music playing and coffee/tea/snacks provided all day.
It needs and update or at the very least, new carpet! The bar fridge looked suspiciously old and I wouldn’t have used it for anything. The bed is very comfortable but the pillows were very soft and it took a couple of trys to get a pillow that wasn’t super soft or super hard. They are doing maintenance work on the brickwork, which starts about 9am every day, which isn’t too loud or too early but we weren’t warned about it. My husband liked the hotel style very much, though.

Everything went well, getting taxi's, breakfast, snacks, calling for needed items, check-in, check out.
The only thing that needs to be addressed is the sofa sleeper in our King Suite (Rm #84).
I think it might be time to replace that mattress! Sort of slopes down in the middle. Everything else was wonderful!

Location, staff, ease of access, parking.
The bed mattress is far too soft. Perhaps old and needs to be replaced.

staff
horrible window views, after checking many rooms, old carpet, outdated furniture, not enough outlets for phones and electronics, no face wipes, no coffee machine, without asking for it, no streaming on outdated TVs, not good breakfast choices.

Lovely cosy hotel right in the heart of Manhattan. Far from cheap but you have everything on your doorstep that you could wish for and it's very quietly located considering how central it is. I've stayed here once before, about 16 years ago, and it was as good as I remember: comfortable and homely. You feel very safe here and the rooms are like a home-from-home. Having drink and snacks available in the lounge until midnight, is a bonus too.

Love the location…
overall the lighting in the room is very dim and especially troublesome in the bathroom for makeup and shaving

The location and the Doormen
The breakfast. Absolutely the worst I have ever experienced. This is supposed to be a 4 Star hotel.
I have travelled extensively , at the age of 72, I have been to 50 countries. This is not a 4 star Hotel.
The noisy aircon.
The unhelpful Management.
When I voiced my concerns to a senior staff member, he dismissed my complaints as a matter of my opinion.

centrally located, very clean, wait staff very
helpful.
common areas were small, not air conditioned. elevator was very hot. Rooms required unit A/Cs to be set very cold to keep rooms comfortable.

We’ve stayed here many times. This was our 1st visit back due to the pandemic. It feels like a living room. Peaceful & comfortable.
Miss afternoon cocktail hour. Hope it can return.

The breakfast lounge was excellent, a calm and peaceful oasis with superb music, providing coffee and snacks all day
The staff at reception were flaky about booking taxis, one team happily agreed to book us a taxi, took down all the details for our destination, advised on time of travel etc, but when the moment came another team told us that no booking had been done. That was the only disappointing issue in our stay

They have a great free continental breakfast available in the second floor club room. And snacks and coffee available all day too.
The price of the room was extremely high in my opinion. $501.22 for a double room for one night.

The location is great, sort of between the theater district and central park. The hotel is charming with an old world feel and a nice club room offering a continental breakfast. The staff is very welcoming.
The beds were horrible.
