Awesome location even better service!

I was so pleasantly surprised by this hotel! The staff was wonderfully attentive and thoughtful, the rooms were clean and efficient, and the bed was so comfortable (I spelt great)! Great location, too! Very comfortable, great shower, especially coming in after a late fun night. Very relaxing and private.

It was an exceptional experience in every way. Location, comfort and most importantly customer service wise.

Fantastic location, spacious room with two bathrooms, two study areas, walk in wardrobe, very friendly staff and superb housekeeping and amenities.
I thought it was a bit petty to be charged USD165 for an early check in when we had arrived after a 17 hour flight and were staying for six nights.
Harry Cipriani is quite overpriced for breakfast.

From the welcome to checking out and every moment in between, excellent service, friendly and welcoming staff render it an outstanding stay. Rooms are impeccably clean. Location is perfect. Special thanks to Reservations Manager, Ms. Acosta, who made my stay in particular splendid. I hope to return soon. Highly recommend.

I liked the location, good restaurant.
I did not like that We lived in a room with a door to the next room, there was a good audibility of the neighbors - it is necessary to provide for better sound insulation.

location, staff, cleanliness, service
number of beds could have been distributed between 2 rooms. living room sofa bed was ok but not ideal. Room service ends at 10 am, food was good. Would have been nice to have longer hours.

it was beautifully decorated, and the bed was so comfortable. The hotel staff was absolutely excellent and went way above and beyond. Had reservations in April in New York somewhere else and changed it to the Sherrie Netherland I liked it so much.
nothing.

beautiful entry, location, housekeeping & room service staff gracious & professional
This hotel forgets it’s in the hospitality business. Part of this hotel in the building are tenants. The front office is simply that. It’s not welcoming or helpful or gracious, but simply business is business. I was very disappointed after notifying the hotel that they have double charge my credit card at including tax $900 a night when it wasn’t authorized and took me 10 days to get the money back with my bank’s help. there are a lot of people in the front lobby who aren’t necessarily working, but chatting back-and-forth and sort of like a very employee break room chatter. I have stayed at other hotels in New York, which are much more welcoming, clean, updated, elegant customer oriented for a third the price there is a restaurant attached to the hotel, which is lovely, but I know Way seamlessly works through the hotel I strongly suggest you look at other hotels before booking this hotel.

Staff were very helpful and pleasant.
I didn’t like my room at all. It’s modern decor was not the classic, soothing and functional hotel room I expected at the Sherry Netherland. I found it difficult to find and operate the light switches because they are black buttons on black surfaces. When the room phone rang I couldn’t find it easily given the unconventional bedside table - which is only a nook. After giving up on figuring out how to turn off the overhead light when I went to bed I called for assistance. The gentleman who responded very quickly had to like me search to find the barely visible button but he did and I could darken the room at last Nothing in the descriptions of your rooms even hints at modern decor - and I was told different styles as well - in your hotel rooms. Not good or fair in my opinion.

A very classy hotel at an excellent location. The room was large, comfortable, very clean and quiet and it was classically and tastefully decorated. The staff was helpful and addressed our issues associated with the room to our satisfaction, which is contrary to some other comments regarding staff being not responsive. We are planing to stay the Sherry-Netherland when we are in NYC next time.

The indoor rooms were not as quite as expected. Every morning at six somebody was pushing carts through the courtyard

The entire staff, rooms and location. Very warm, "home like" feeling once you enter the front door.
Honestly, there isnt anything to not like here at the Sherry.

A fantastic room with masses of space, including a separate living room, two walk-in closets and a mini kitchen. Comfortable bed, wonderful pillows and great views. Staff were extremely attentive and courteous - we had a problem with our tv but someone was knocking on our door to fix it before I had even out the phone down. I was returning after exactly 50 years to this landmark hotel and will not be waiting anywhere near that time to stay with them again.
On arrival I made it very clear that I wanted to use a pre-paid travel card to settle my bill but would give them another credit card to put a hold, as they need something to cover up to $250 a day on extras plus the room, charges. My reason was that I had loaded a lot of dollars onto the card and didn't want to pay exchange rate and c/card fees. When I came to settle our bill, I explained to the receptionist that I wished to pay on the travel card and he said 'no problem'. I gave him the card...disappeared off with it, as they seem to do in the USA and returned, asking me to sign (squiggle with my finger) on their screen. I took my card back and left the hotel. It turned out that despite that charade the money was taken from my credit card and not from the cash on my travel card. So I have had to pay a load of charges I was hoping to avoid. Shame.

The bed I would like to know what mattress you had in room 1516. It was the most comfortable bed we have every slept in. My husband wants to buy this mattress.
Nothing!!!!

I was treated to an upgrade from the least expensive room to a beautiful suite, perhaps because I was a first time customer and because I checked in close to midnight. I was very appreciative of this courtesy, and it certainly will lead me to book again at the Sherry Netherlands! The service was exceptional and the old-world decor just beautiful. The food in the restaurant was excellent.
