Staying at the mansion completed our excellent Ottawa trip

the House was huge, plenty of room for the whole family, love that there's washrooms in all bedrooms

Some sheets were dirty, but there are lots of extra ones

Amazing home with space everyone wants

The size of this home was perfect for the people that we had. The home was wonderfully equipped with all the things we needed. The high end finishes in the main floor make this home look and feel like we were in Beverly Hills.

Upon arrival, no shovelling had been done. Everything was complete ice. Trying to pull in the vehicles was tricky. We had to clear a path and the steps before we could even go in. Just safety wise, glad no one fell. With all the beautiful finishes on the main floor, it would seem like momentum was lost when they got to the second floor. The bedrooms are very plain and seem to be out of place with the rest of the home. There were open vents in the walls where the covers were not replaced. The staircase was missing what I would assume to be a fabulous chandelier, but only the wires hung. Although these things are minor and just cosmetic, our stay was great and served the purpose. We would stay here again!

This was a fantastic place to stay with comfortable accommodations and a very well stocked kitchen.

We used the house for a staff retreat. The house was perfect for this purpose. With 4 bedrooms upstairs, each with an ensuite bathroom, our out-of-town staff were very comfortable. There were beds in the basement as well, but we didn't need them. The space available on the main floor was very spacious and comfortable and allowed plenty of space for our buffet-style meals and options of places for discussions, breakout sessions, etc. Absolutely ideal. The kitchen is also very well stocked with an extensive variety of things. Just short on place settings of dishes and cutlery.

Two things...The couches and chairs were mostly broken in some way. With a few repairs to the supports, these problems would be easily fixable. Surprising that this hasn't been done since many reviews have commented on this and to be honest, these comments almost caused us to not book the place. But it wasn't a big deal at all, just good for a laugh more than anything. The one very disappointing thing was that I asked the host in advance about specific things that we needed in the kitchen, like how many place settings of dishes and cutlery there were (we were a group of 11), whether there was a frypan, strainer, microwave (not shown in their pictures), cutting board, coffee maker, etc. I didn't hear back so sent a reminder request for the information. It took the host almost a day to reply after my second request and the reply was "our kitchen is equipped with basic booking needs". So given that we had no information to go on, and our stay was now in a matter of hours, we had to bring everything we needed just in case. This was a huge effort and it turned out we didn't need any of it. The place is very well stocked with all kinds of kitchenware. I can't think of anything that wasn't there. It was all stored randomly in various cupboards and drawers but there were likely 6 frypans, several pots, a rolling pin, muffin tins, cookie sheets, all kinds of cooking utensils, even random things like egg cups and expresso cups. Very disorganized, but very well stocked. The disappointing part was that the host simply didn't make the effort to tell us what was there thereby causing us a lot of extra work and transporting of items (not a microwave of course!) There were only 7 dinner plates and maybe 7 smaller bread and butter plates. That is another thing that is very odd. Many people have commented on the lack of plates.

Avoid at all cost .

Very dirty, charges extra for early check in to hire clean staff. Arrive dirty and people sitting in the house. Found food in plates in room dried up, no cleaning product for washing (cloths). No propane tank in bbq, discussing carpet in basement. Broken shower doors.

It was a great and comfortable stay. Our host was very nice. We like the mansion very much!

It is more spacious than the description, a beautiful house and a comfortable place to stay. The location is great. It is very close to the center and easy to find. The host is friendly and helpful. Would recommend it!

The automatic transaction system had many bugs, but the host was so patient and nice and she tried her best to assist us. Hope they switch to a better system!

Close but no Cigar

It is a big house, perfect for receiving guests and prepare food and hang around, while maintaining everybody's privacy. There certainly is a lot of space! Close to the metro-station and other public transport.

This place needs some tender love and care! There were lots of broken items (a shabby lazyboy-chair in the living room, the dishwasher's lower compartiment rollers were off rail, the downstairs toilet would keep on flushing,...) Also the cleaning crew did not do a good job (filthy pans in the cupboard, coffeemaker with old coffee-grinds, showers with moldy floors...) And how do you expect a party of 8 to function with only a few spoons, only 3 chairs outside, only a few old pots and pans?? There is personal stuff throughout the house (shoes, prescription medicine, letters...) which made a very unprofessional impression. The decoration might not be to everybody's taste, but a lot can be done if the house would be sparkling clean and cleared out of personal items. Because it is a lovely house, after all.

We feel the sofas in the living rooms are little shaky and it will be great to replace with good ones

Discusting.

House is big

Nothing compare to the pictures. Sofas and chairs are brooking and very dirty. Carpets are very very very dirty. Rats dropping in draws and plats. We had to go out buy utensils and plates in other to eat. Would not use what was left for our stay. Please remove luxury in the add. Luxury mean confort, clean,.... thus house is nothing from what i was expected. It is so sad, we are not able to see the place before booking....

a lot of personal items were stored in unlocked rooms. the security deposit required prior to arrival is “sketchy “. one would need to fully inspect the property prior to give the large deposit of $1500

Overall great stay that may be enhanced with some maintenance.

The property is very spacious and clean. The check-in and payment process is easy. Each bedroom has its own bathroom and shower which was very convenient.

The property does require some maintenance. The house is huge and could benefit from brighter lighting. The bidet was not working during our stay. One of the bedframes was also broken.

Luxury Mansion- feel like royalty

.The expansive feel of the mansion was amazing! The decor was over-the-top posh. It felt like it used to be owned by royalty.

The furnishings were in need of a refresh. Alot of details are needing tlc. Some things were disappointing. There was no cable TV, which in this day seemed odd. There were no instructions on how things worked. We had to keep texting the property manager.

The hoster didn't arrive in time and wasn't answering to phone for at least 40 minutes and even didn't ask sorry. He pictured my credit card. 2 washrooms were out of service, Restriction to go to the backyard after 22.00. the property wasn't clean and more...

A broken Chair and a rocky Toilet in the Basement.

My stay was great, and the hosts were beyond amazing. I would recommend booking with jstlikehome!

I liked the communication between the host and I. Roy and Chris were both very kind and available to communicate. I also really like how spacious the house is. It has all kitchen needs, and well accommodating. The house was clean and the spaces we used were well equipped.

I didn’t really like the 5PM check in, though it makes sense in terms of having enough time to clean the house in between guests.

Poor

The piano was in tune. It was gorgeous from a far but when you looked closer there was a lot of issue. The kitchen was gorgeous.

There was mold in the showers, the couch was extremely broken, there was a lot of religious artwork and other items like holy water and rosary beads. We got the venue late, about 45 mins late. The closests were chained up. Lots of locked doors. There were big holes I'm assuming where the vents are located but could be very dangerous.

Dont Judge the book by its Cover .

The house is spacious , every bedrrom attached bath was great feature.

The place was not clean - there was water leak in the basement and smelly and all the bedrooms bedsheets/ comforter were not clean - they looked like used ones all wrinkled up and dirty - called the host who came in and changed all bedsheets with new ones. But we couldn't use the basement they were wet and soggy smell. The host is responsive and tried to do things what he could in the last minute- but it was after we checked at 5 Pm - The team was there till around 6.30 -7pm fixing things at our paid time and affecting our lesure time ( with 4 strangers in the house )

Good for large families

Large house with plenty of space. Each bedroom on the 2nd floor had its own bathroom and shower. We had access to a fully equipped kitchen, in addition to awasher and dryer. Chris was a very responsive host.

The house was not the cleanest: large old spill stains on the kitchen floor, oil stains on the kitchen cabinets, dusty bedroom furniture. Everything was soft: all mattresses and all sofas; we would sink in whenever sitting on the sofas
