Spacious room for the Bay Area and the beds were comfortable. The location can't be beat. The staff went above and beyond to be friendly and accommodating. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone who stays in the area.

Breakfast was awesome especially the staff making it. All the staff was actually exceptional at the hotel. The spacious room was lovely, the bed was comfortable as well. The seating in the room was also very comfortable and the hotel location was ideal as it was in walking distance to many places.
Though the rooms are clean and nice there were a few places that needed fixing. One main thing we noticed is no vent/fan in the bathroom. The Tv was also a little small for the room size. And the shower curtain didnt really work well. Other than those things our stay was lovely.

Friendly staff. Easy stress free check in. Room was spacious and clean. Close to several restaurants
Restaurant closed quite early with no other on-site food options. 24 hr store was extremely limited and not open 24 hours.

The staff were incredibly helpful. I felt very safe, and it’s very easy to walk to the Amtrak Station and BART stop.

Clean, stylish rooms. Good bed and bathroom.
Although helpful, and friendly, the front desk staff was usually not at front desk when we arrived or when we went down for service. They'd appear after a minute or two, but we found that a little odd.

The restaurant/Cafe attached was too expensive. not flexible to orders and not open often.

For the purpose of my trip this hotel was perfect. I was graduating at a hotel across the street that was ridiculously overpriced due to the event and this hotel was actually a good value for the money. The room was clean and nice, beds were comfy, and Trey from the valet was awesome!!
When we first arrived the front desk clerk was kind of rude and seemed like she’d rather be anywhere else. Upon closer inspection the room had a few spots that were less than clean, but nothing that interfered with the stay (just normal wear and tear and a few stains on the curtains?). I REALLY didn’t like that if valet parking is mandatory for any car and was $45 per day with an additional $8.50 city tax to park. I also paid when I booked my reservation on booking.com and then was charged again at the hotel and it took 4 separate phone calls to fix it, which could have easily been avoided if the front desk clerk who checked us in had paid attention when I told her I had already paid for it, but luckily it did get fixed.

It was 7 minutes away from My work location.
Customer service was bad from the beginning, even before the stay. I needed to change the dates of my stay and was denied request immediately (rudely). I was flying in after my coworker and asked if she was able to check in before me and immediately denied once again (rudely). So she ended up booking a different hotel. I arrived and the person checking me in was cold and stern. She was telling me that I owed money from a Master Card, which I never had a Master card it was a Visa. She found out her mistake but after I had to keep telling her I didn't pay with a Master card or ever had one. Also the parking is $45 fee a day so it worked better that my coworker got a different Hotel. The area is pretty scary, elevators were dirty, views were scary, pool looked really dirty. I have stayed in few different places in Oakland now due to my company never have I had a bad stay till now. Will never return here.

When arrived late on Sunday evening and were greeted by whoever greeted us & we were confused about the parking he told us around the corner is their garage. Never saw the garage. Came back & asked where can we park couldn't find the garage he was talking about said the street then I parked on the street and came back & he said where I parked our truck may get broken into. So, I went back got my truck & said screw charge me an arm and leg for valet parking because that was your intention. So I did. Checked in the guy never asked us if we wanted bottled water but the guests before us got a bottle of water. The room, bathroom sink was backed up the hair dryer didn't work, so I had to air dry my hair the next morning. Your hotel is highly over rated and would never stay or recommend to anyone.

I have stayed in MANY hotels in MANY cities in California and a large handful throughout the state; including Courtyards. The staff in Oakland were exceptional on every level. We were greeted with smiles every time we encountered an employee, engaged with "good morning", "good evening", and "welcome back" at every turn. The security guard was seen cleaning up debris from tables, and although the gentlemen at breakfast was working alone with a limited menu, he didn't say what he "couldn't do", but offered solutions with upbeat enthusiasm and a wonderful smile. The housekeeping staff was attentive, polite and kind. The valet were friendly, efficient and pleasant to interact with. I have been in the service industry for over 30 years and just wish to recognize an exceptional effort to create culture where employees truly and visibly enjoy coming to work every day. So...in short (brevity is not my strength haha)...THANK YOU ALL for a WONDERFUL and EXCEPTIONAL stay! Keep up the incredible work.

Great location, but staff and organization were very strange. No included breakfast, additional charges that didn't match online, and awkward harsh statements made when arriving to the hotel. Not a great stay, which is weird for Marriott.
Staff, environment. I suppose the second half of the above question. Just not great overall, but was clean overall and enjoyed the room as a whole. The ice machine was also broken on our floor, just a series of not delightful moments.

Not much there for the breakfast. One of the staff was particularly helpful.

the facilities were good, clean hotel , comfy beds, good body wash, shampoo and condtioner.... HOWEVER
THE TRASH on the street is gross and around the hotel is sketchy. north of the hotel are classic dowtown buildings, the street are what you can expect, going south of the hotel is atrocious! i dont know how so many peopl can live with all the filth around! Trash in the street, the dirty sidwalks, it would be hard for me to stay again. I pulled up at 10pm and it was dark, it didnt have any signage out, it didnt look like an entrance or point to where you drive in, ALSO, the fact that I have to valet and parking is $45 a night on top of my stay and then charge me a resort fee? oh and the tub was peeling, we should never see rust in a tub.

Very close to the event I was in town for.
I wish there was a restaurant or bar but it was very nice
