Location
4.3
Our room had been refurbished since we had last been there. Staff is responsive and the location is fabulous.
4.3
Good location, nice surroundings and it was peaceful and quiet (not counting the fog whistle that was on all day and night). Easy check-in and helpful staff.
The restaurant was at best mediocre, too expensive and the waiters in too much of a rush. “Breakfast included” meant only one pre-selected item from the menu, everything else we had to pay for, such as juice and fruit for the kids. The swimming pool was dirty and the whole pool-area smelled weird.
All in all, would probably stay somewhere else next time considering how expensive it was and how little we got for our money.

Room and terrace with nice bay and ocean view.
Continental breakfast at Tides restaurant quite skimpy, no choice.
4.3
This was not our first stay at the Tides. We thoroughly love this place. Rooms are clean and comfortable, always get a room with a porch. So thankful the weather was beautiful for us to enjoy the grounds and amenities.
The restaurant. The complimentary continental breakfast is appreciated, although not a one size fits all pallet. Disappointed that your basic eggs/toast/protein are not part of the continental breakfast as before. The quality of the food seemed to be out of a box or can. Nothing homemade at all. i.e. Corned Beef hash, can for sure. Pricing a bit steep for the quality. The bakery items are spectacular, maybe you could make fresh breads, bagels, croissants, muffins etc. that would improve the quality of the breakfast menu.
The decor still needs a face lift. I use the word "still" because nothing has changed within the past 15 years that we have been coming to this destination. The roman pillars are an eye sore, and do not pair with the ambiance of being on the bay. Would love to hear a bit of background music played. We also sat in the bar area. Decor is nice, background music would be ideal. Staff was very friendly and professional. Experienced a bit of language barrier at times.
Miss the dining room that once was in the lobby area.

I loved the whole property. It was warm and pleasant with beautiful views.
TV was small, upgrade on the in room coffee, and their onsite restaurant was closed.

Quite amazing hotel, very romantic. Even got a free bottle of wine.
Nice pool, hot tub, sauna.
There's a restaurant just across the road - continental breakfast is included there, but it's also open for lunch and dinner. Also some shops.
It's nice that you don't have to drive anywhere, but rather can walk there.
There's a fog horn, or something of that sort going off every 8 seconds.
It's quite far, but can be annoying for some.
The bed wasn't that comfortable.

Appreciated the complimentary breakfast across the street; it was much nicer than most places.
My son and I visited; he slept in the large bed, while I used the sofa-bed and it was awful - so uncomfortable! It needs replacing badly. . . .

Great location, attractive site, nice comfortable room
It was expensive, but that is probably due to the U.K. govt screwing up the British currency.
