I considered my room ocean front which they call ocean view.
I think at check in the valet should not take your luggage until you know where your room is located. It was confusing.
4.5
Comfortable room, beautiful beach, wonderful staff. The following restaurant staff were exceptional: Eliza, Letty, and Erica.
Landscaping in front of rooms could be improved with colorful plants and wood chips.
3.5
I like the proximity to the beach and the laidback feel, the staff are friendly and the amenities are decent.
No First Aid Kit, my son sprained his ankle and they didn’t have anything to stabilize his ankle.
Not handicap friendly, my mom is handicapped and they did not have any rooms on the first floor for easy access, the best they can do was a room on the 3rd floor closest to the elevator.
The pool water was a little colder than expected.

The location of the hotel is nice.
We had move to the Adventure building, but it was far away from the main part of the hotel. On the plus side, it has easy access to the beach.
First room we got was in the I building room 902. It had a musky smell, we believe it was from the carpet. Since, the room is near the pool and has access from the back... the previous visitors may have been coming in and out of the room wet. The carpet most likely did not dry up completely. Would have love to stay in that room and building since everything was near.

We parked our truck and never had to leave, everything was in walking distance
No surveilance cameras, when my bike was stolen from my beach front suite …. It was locked to a post and some tweekers came by for a visit at 0 dark 30 to steel my stuff….
Staff was helpful and also the local PD…. Despite that I would come back….

Lobby, bar and pool area was great! Beds comfortable
We were put in an older section. After we settled in they did offer to move us which was nice but we decided to just stay because we were there for one night. The staff was exceptionally nice!

Location, staff excellent, grounds well kept, quiet, beds comfortable
Our room had something spilled on carpet that hadn’t been cleaned up and table had been shoved into Sheetrock wall. I reported these things when we got to room to make sure the staff knew.

Great location, nice pool, hot tub, bar.
Laura was great.
Crazy pricing for food, drinks. Charges for ordering takeout, silver ware. Rude bar tender.
This hotel has been remodeled several times over the years yet still no one has installed vents in the bathrooms so it remains musty, moldy smelling.
3.5
Great location right on the beach, easy access, allowed us to check in early
Odd hotel, full suite property and clearly not full when we were there, we were ‘offered’ various upgrade options but as stating only one night declined them. Ended up in a remote suite with no aspect as all and a patio door opening onto a dark corridor.
Charged $35 for parking even though realistically that’s the only way to get there, on the same trip we paid $10 for the ocean front at Santa Monica.
Restaurant nice but limited choice and they say it’s sharing plates but many are not, odd

Loved the whole vibe! We were celebrating my husbands birthday and it the whole ambiance is just so peaceful. The grounds are beautiful, the beach is at your fingertips and don’t get me started on the bed! The bed and pillows were soooo comfortable!
We did not have the best experience with the Ox and Ocean restaurant. We went for dinner and the hostess told us it would be about 20 min wait, not too bad. At the 20 min marker I went to check to see how much longer, just to find out how he hostess sat another family under our name. Still not a big deal, told the hostess I’d wait for the next available spot. I look around and see a few spots open near other customers, figure we will be seated very soon. Another 20 minutes pass and I go up to the hostess to inquire about our table, she says your still on the waitlist it will be a few minutes. I did not accept this response so I politely tell her that we have been waiting for 40 min because of an error made by the hostess staff, then I point to an empty table in between two families and say what about that table. She starts looking at her iPad and then has me follow her to a different table. Not once did the hostess apologize for the mix up etc. I know it’s off season so that may explain how understaffed the restaurant clearly was. We are seated and are greeted by a very kind waitress, she takes our drink order, then like 10 min later another waiter comes to take our drink order. We explain another waitress already took our drink order but he continues to retake our drink order. So about 20 more minutes for our drinks. We order side of potatoes as an appetizer, it arrives and it’s like warm, almost cold. We finally order and after about ANOTHER 20 min my husband has had enough. I suggest he go lay down in the room since he is not feeling well, and I ask the waiter to pack up our food. I wait about 10 more minutes and the food arrives, the I wait another 10 minutes for the check and finally check out. We paid close to $200 for our dinner that was not pleasant at all. When I arrive upstairs (less than a min walk) surprise surprise the food is cold. Thank goodness our room has microwave.

Very nice architectural design. ADA accessible. Heated pool, which kids were enjoy even though it was raining. There are two elevators, one was broken down probably due to the earthquake, but we still were able to use the other one.
Additional parking fee charged not previously disclosed. Toilet needs to keep holding the handle in order to flush. Window in the bedroom full of dirt and dust.

Location, family friendly.
No more breakfast buffet
Adorable gift shop is gone
Open gate at the front of the property, so we watched many, many people who weren’t staying at the hotel, come and use the pool. I don’t understand why room keys aren’t needed to get into the pool. Anyone can walk in and use the pool.
There were charges on our account for drinks that weren’t ours, because all you have to do is give a room number and you can charge anything to any room. That should also be checked with the room key.
Bedding was not clean. Had to call to have it changed.
Pool was dirty with so much sand, it was not cleaned the entire time we were there.

I had issues with the AC and Heater not working properly in our room. The power went out for ours on day two and we couldn't do anything productive. My kids were very upset. I had food spoil. Overall, a bad experience.
