The staff was great. Evening front desk manager was wonderful.
Unbeknownst to us, the hot tub was broken (I called ahead to make sure it was good to go before I rented the room), and they said it was working just fine. When we headed downstairs to take a family plunge, we realized it was cold. They said a maintenance man would fix it... Never got fixed the three days we were there. The pool was murky, probably needed chemicals and a filter purge (big deal when you have kiddos that want to swim). Hidden fees... $10 a day to park in their parking lot (dumb, like where else are you going to park?). They have a full hot breakfast, but it didn't come with our room. It was $10 a person to eat. There is a large parking lot next to the hotel, it had about 20 local "tent/tarp structure" campers set up. Some of them looked to be taking "medication" out in the open. They must have been enjoying themselves, because they were there throughout the night. That's not really the hotels fault, but it definitely added to the delightfulness of our stay. They had a "deal going" where if you rented the room and paid full price ahead of time, it was cheaper. I realize now why that was the case. We were locked in with no refunds, or I would have left after the first night. Like I said, the staff was friendly and they tried to be accommodating, but we won't stay there again.

It was under construction, first room had no heat and a leaking window with very loud traffic and freezing wet air coming through all night
Please see above. In addition, there is a sign stating that you aren’t able to enter if after 11pm which is strange for a hotel

Late check-in
Comfortable bed
Good breakfast
The lock on the door was broken. I was unable to close the door from the inside
Dirty and torn curtains. It looks like some step and hanging on them.
Ice machine behind the wall.

It was ok due to demand of the track meet event around town and the renovations that were in process.
They never had the cookies available it was always excuse. The construction going on in the morning was always a bother to hear.

I did not stay at DoubleTree in Salem, Oregon. Booking reserved the room for the wrong night. When I arrived to check-in I was told the reservation was for the following night. I was only in town for one night and there were no rooms available at DoubleTree. So I went to another hotel.

24’ McDonald’s drive thru 50’from suite window plus an idling reefer til 5:30 a.m
don’t blame them for the reefer but they knew about the McDonald’s

Great location off the freeway and excellent staff. very friendly and helpful
lots of construction going on but they kept it pretty picked up

The staff were very nice.
Because of ongoing renovations our room had a lot of sheetrock dust and pieces on the carpet and surfaces. The handheld shower head leaked at the attachment and shot water everywhere. There is no place to put your bath soap or hang a washcloth in the shower except for the floor. We had to tighten the bolts on the toilet lid because it was ready to fall off.
3.4
It was under construction, charged for a continental breakfast, charged to park. Salem is NOT a big city and lacking space to park.
3.4
lobby with fireplace was nice
under major renovations, no restaurant like website said, we had to get our room key revised because it didn’t work

The sheets and bed were wonderful. Bathroom was spotless. Coffee was surprisingly delicious.
Outdated advertising/conflicting advertising regarding dining options.
I chose this hotel because I was in town for work; the type of work that is mentally and physically exhausting. Who wants to drive around looking for food after a day like that? I wanted to stay in a hotel that had a restaurant, or at least breakfast, so I could eat and go to bed. I was planning ahead to make my morning easier (and healthy) for my long day ahead. I figured a Double Tree/Hilton property would be decent based on a previous experience elsewhere. The room was $152, while a couple other national chains that would have provided the same experience were only $99, as a point of reference.
When I paid for my room, I chose to add on the breakfast option for $15 to make my workday easier.
When I arrived to check in around 9:45/10pm?, the restaurant was closed for renovations and I was told the breakfast was moved out to the lobby. There was a giant sign that said breakfast was $10. That's lame- they charged me $5 more when I booked it...oh well. It was not having the chance to eat dinner that evening that was really frustrating. So, I had to leave the hotel to go find dinner, which also cut into my sleep time.
Next morning, I go to get breakfast and this is what it was (for $15 lol): scrambled eggs that tasted like plastic (felt rubbery too), mystery meat sausage sitting in tons of oil while also getting over-cooked in a plug in skillet, bland watery potatoes, cheap bagels, muffins, bread, kids cereal, and than luckily a good cup of coffee. I couldn't finish my breakfast of the hot food, it was gross.
I inquired about the 2 different breakfast prices when I checked out, and the lady tried to explain that the $15 was per booking so that makes it a good deal for bookings with multiple people like families. The $10 price was per person. I said I booked a single occupancy room so it doesn't make sense. She shrugged it off.
