The front desk clerk, Ray, was great. She was very helpful and very nice. She was not the issue at all.
The property had been sold, so it was a completely different hotel than advertised on booking.com. It was the 3rd of July at 1:30 am, so the hotel was completely sold out. The clerk did show us the only room that was not in use. It was not what we wanted; it was run down, dirty, and in a separate building in the back of the parking lot that is for long-term customers, not hotel guests.

The staff was cordial.
It’s very very run down. It wasn’t dirty, but it’s very old. Might be past the point of rehab. Needs to be torn down. Not an exaggeration.

Location was close to where i was spending time in town.
The beds were so LOUD. I woke up every time my husband moved even just the slightest because the springs in the bed were so loud.

We had a place to shelter safely through the night.
First of all, when I searched for a place to stay, "Vegas Hotel" came up, and I DELIBERATELY did not choose for the low ratings it received. As I kept searching, "America's Best Value Inn" came up at a HIGHER price, and with better ratings, so I booked it. When we arrived to stay, the huge sign at the entrance said VEGAS HOTEL. So somebody switched names around online and I ended up booking a room that I deliberately DID NOT WANT TO BOOK for more money!
The bed was barely comfortable, but the A/C unit was set to 'economy' mode, and would come off and on every 2 to 3 minutes, disrupting our sleep till I figured out how to reset it for the fan to run all night. As if that was not bad enough, my wife's credit card number was STOLEN while we slept and next day we had a charge for $300 on it, and to some online casino site at that. We had to shut down that card, which disrupted our payment method for the rest of our vacation (which we had just begun,) Finally, this hotel is located in an industrial section of Billings. There are no other hotels around it, nor places to eat. In the morning we could smell everything from cow manure/urine to oil/gasoline fumes outside our room.
I have never, ever, in my entire life been so displeased with a) the deceptive booking methods and b) a very low rent albeit cleaner room with an uncomfortable bed and, c) thieves in the front office who stole my wife's credit card number and made our payment method unusable for the rest of our trip.

Leaving.
Dirty. Smelly. Rundown. Honestly didn’t feel safe sleeping there.

Surprisingly delicious restaurant on site. Perfect Pad Thai in Billings was a delightful surprise. Excellent value for the money conscious traveler.
Older, but Spartan amenities.

There was no breakfast. Provided lobby coffee was nasty. Place is tired.
Room was in need of upgrading. Long walk up stairs to the rooms. Pool is a joke.

Clean rooms. Polite staff. Easy access
Some noise between room walls. Also rain hitting AC units echos in room.
Squeaky box springs

Good sized room
Floors were loud to walk on. Super thin walls & ceiling, I was kept awake all night by guests above me and to the side of me!! Every hour on the hour was banging, dropping things, stomping, something. I had the fan/ac turned up full blast all night to drown out the noise but it only helped a little. Staff said they would ask them to be quite but didn't help at all if they did ask. The bed was horrible! It creaked really loud any time you put any pressure on it, so when you climb into bed it had a million creaks and then any time you moved at all it creaked like crazy, sounds like an old rocking chair but way worse. Horribly loud guests definitely made the stay a lot worse than it would have been otherwise, but still, the beds need replaced so bad its not even funny, and carpet floors should be put in, and drunks or inconsiderate people should be banned.

I liked how cozy and comfortable it was
The parking lot was congested

Once you got inside the room, it was clean and very spacious. However, the stench in the hallway was terrible, and the carpet was filthy. There were security guards walking the hallways. The outside door at the end of the hallway didn't lock. Had to change rooms as the heat didn't work in the first room. We were supposed to stay 4 nights, but we found another place to stay after the first night as we didn't feel safe. It appeared that maybe the people on the bottom floor actually lived in those rooms.

How unclean it was. The floors were not clean nor was the tub

The price was right. The bed was comfortable. The size of the room was great.
I sent a message ahead of my arrival asking to have all towels, wash cloths etc. Put on the sink outside the bathroom. Because my wheelchair does not fit through the bathroom door. Because I am a paraplegic and unable to walk or stand. Also the sidewalk from the handicapped parking was not shoveled and I had to wait a few hours before this was accomplished. As they had no staff available and the kind lady working the desk helped when she was able to.

It was roomy and clean.
The bed was noisy. Every movement was loud.i was solo so it wasn't much of issue after I got used to it. Never knew a bed to make such noise.

Location, not updating website & letting customers know amenities are closing early and/or are closed for extended time periods, bed in room was 'supposed to be' king but was no bigger than a full and felt/sounded like it was plastic. Within 15 minutes of check in we decided that losing/giving up the $78 for the single night stay was way better than attempting to stay the night. I will not ever recommend this hotel to anyone.
