The bed wasn't clean. There was some kind of substance like crumbs on the sheets we had to sleep on top of the covers. The bathroom was not clean. Spiders, handprints from other guests , it was a dirty tub. The pool was also filthy like no one cleaned it in a couple days. Clothes and towels every where and we were the only ones in the pool.

most things were fine but i was in the shower when the lights went out
Manager helped us and was pleasant when fixing our TV
I forgot to pack my jewelry and left it at the hotel. I wish they would of contacted me about it. I would have paid to have it mailed. I can see not contacting people about most things, but jewelry is on a different level

Location
The sidewalks and walkways and facility was dirty, trash bags were thrown around corners and not in dumpsters. Ice machines broken. Pool bathroom was disgusting. Missing vent covers in bathroom. Remote to TV didn't work. Car batteries left outside. Sidewalks sticky with filth and soda or something. Litter throughout the parking lot and walkways. Cockroachs in pool filter and pool area. Git tub wasn't hot

Our visit to Carlsbad was to go to the Caverns. The location was best for me. Also- the room was nice and cool our whole stay.

Perfectly fine establishment where my husband and I crashed for the night with our dog before checking out Carlsbad and Guadalupe National Parks. Had all expected amenities and breakfast was decent, though nothing gourmet. AC worked great. Staff was friendly and helpful at the front desk. Would happily stay again for the price.
Classic motel with lots of transient workers hanging in the parking lot in the evening time. No grassy space for the pup, but ours will go anywhere, including the gravel spaces, so wasn’t an issue for us.

Location good, pool was great.
Rooms need renovations, beds were old, and we had ants in our room on the ground floor.

Everything just felt and looked old.

Location was good. Good water pressure in the shower.
This property is in desperate need of new beds. Honestly, my back and hips are still sore three days later. The whole place is a bit tired and dated but the beds were awful.

The manager kindly moved our room when the first one smelled strongly of smoke (being next to a smoking room). As we were traveling with our dog, we also appreciated the rooms opening to the parking lot, rather than into a hallway.
It was a smidge more expensive than I would have anticipated, but nothing terrible.

Breakfast was quite good for a motel. The indoor pool was a nice addition, although I wish I had paid attention to the fact that they had one in advance, as I didn't use it.
Walls were paper thin. Could hear everything neighbors were saying and their TV crystal clear. Had to call them past midnight to politely ask them to quiet down.
