The location of this inn is excellent, it's located near quite a few restaurants, the pier, and the ocean is just across the street.
You get what you pay for and the pictures are exact. We spent most of our time out and about, and at the beach so it was perfect.
We were told to keep the room clean at check-in. We are in our 40's, not 20's? Dead batteries in the remote, so we couldn't change the TV all night. No phone in the room, so we couldn't ask for fresh ones. The shower barely had a trickle, which was disappointing after a long day at the beach. Lots of activity after hours and shouting could be heard right outside the door.

The location is great, right in the sea wall. The building is old and they had railings and air conditioners zip tied. Smelled strongly of roach spray. The room itself had new carpet and was very clean. The owners hover around you as you go in and out.
The upkeep of the building overall and the overwhelming smell of roach spray

I found myself to be overtired after a day at Galveston and really needing to lie down— the room was available at last minute and least expensive. It was still more than I’d pay on the mainland but it was right where you could see the sunrise over the water
I was too tired to complain at the time—- but I found some yellow stains in the sheets— maybe rust spots. I pulled back the sheet to see the mattress pad and it looked like an old blood stain had not been completely removed. There was also a long dark hair between the sheets—- I have short light colored hair—/
The fridge in the room was warm and had a small bug in it— which I only noticed in the morning. The bathroom mirror had spots on it— the shower door had white spots like dried soap—- I ended up not using the shower—- I pulled the blanket from the closet to wrap up in because it looked clean—/ but when I left I saw housekeeping just pick up the blanket off the bed and fold it up again—/ instead of putting it to be washed.

The staff was very friendly. The Inn is right across the street from the seawall.
Dirty sheets on the bed, roaches crawling all over, heavy smell of mildew throughout the room. At night there was a sheet of corrugated plastic sheeting, being used as an awning over the walkways, noisily banging in the wind all night. It was so loud and disruptive that we couldn't sleep, ended up packing up at 4 a.m. and checked out.

The retro style was really good. The friendliness of the staff was a major plus. The location is superb.
We have nothing bad to say. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We specifically wanted to stay at Ocean Inn because it was kind of retro. If you are looking for fancy and first class, it may not be the place for you. However, if you are wanting a comfortable place to relax in an awesome location, it is perfect.

So from the outside, this looks like it’s going to be a regrettable choice…it’s old, dated, needs lots of updates. But once we got in our room, it’s very clean and up to date. It’s definitely a basic starter room, but very clean and had the amenities we needed. And the staff could not be nicer or accommodating. And the beach is literally 100 yards away. Will definitely stay there again

Rooms have been recently remodeled and are nice. Bed was good.
There was no coffee maker in the room. Shower had only a hot water. Would also have liked a couple more pillows so we could each have 2. Place could use some updating but looks like w work in progress.

Location
We. Were told we would get king bed and got queen. We were told we would receive ocean front and got side view. We paid $113 for something not worth the money.
