The building was very charming and of historical interest, rooms are very clean and location is great for walking around town and looking at houses in beautiful neighborhoods, you feel very safe walking alone in this area. The hotel is dog friendly but don’t bring big unmanageable dogs, this is a very old building full of historical redwood. Small well mannered dogs would be better suited. There is no dog run area leashed at all times, and you large dog might get destructive.
My only complaints were no real sitting area in our room, nice comfortable chairs to sit relax and read a book would be a plus. If we wanted to relax in our room and read we had to lay in bed. The other slight miss was “ continental breakfast” it’s pancakes and coffee, everyday. We were there all week and a variety of pastries, fruit, yogurt, would have been a nice change. The coffee btw is excellent!

I liked everything. Unique rooms . Comfortable bed and pillows. Fan in room. Ambiance. Becky and Jake were great hosts.
Being on the third floor with dog.

Becky was extremely hospitable and helped us with everything we requested. She helped us check in early and cleared out her freezer, so we could put the stuff from our cooler in. She was a great hostess!

Beautiful building.
Dirty, not just outdated but run down. Sand in the bed that wasn't from us. An apple pancake is not a complete breakfast and it was hectic and not comfortable experience with not enough seats and things not set out. No protein to start your day. Not advertised as a bud and breakfast but oh, it was when we got there. Not a welcoming thing about Becky. Didn't introduce herself and disappeared during check out.

the place wasn’t clean, no wifi, no heater, breakfast was served but only pancakes. not worth the value of money

I liked nothing about this ridiculous excuse for a rental property
Very cold inside, the place is old dry wood interior and heated with electric space heaters. The house is a tinder box waiting for the right condition to burn down. You hear every movement from the guests above, thin walls make every sound feel like it is right next to you. Horrible experience do not book this place

The location no longer exists. It was sold and converted into a cannabis retreat.
The place that I reserved no longer exists.

Great historical home, obviously good effort to make guest comfortable with communal food trays, clean rooms, staff person was friendly professional accomodating. They just didn’t seem quite ready to be open, new owners as I understand it. We hope they bring it up.
Seriously stained carpets throughout, dripping water, tub leaked all over floor needs plumber, cold room with not enough heaters, parceled out electricity because of aging home, was more drab and dreary than pictures, first rains needed buckets to catch leaks, kitchen lights wouldn’t go on in morning, our room was moved because of leaks, kitchen sink couldn’t be used because of a huge uncleaned wok sitting in it, one thing after the next. The pictures and reality didn’t match up.

Accommodated our late arrival with key in a lock box. Easy parking. Quiet, potentially charming overall and close to downtown. Spacious room for family of 5.
Run down, minimally furnished and not as pictured. Grounds were nearly bare. Minimal lighting made our late night arrival feel spooky and uncomfortable. No staff on site most of our stay. No literature about the house or room, how anything worked or how to contact. There was no breakfast, which we expected, but there was a loaf of banana bread, still raw in the middle, left on the table overnight and dirty dishes left in the sink, construction materials in the kitchen and very cluttered We read in reviews that the kitchen was available for use, but there was no guidance or direction...what was for use or not, felt like invading someone's private space. Our room had the expected beds, three small nightstands, a dresser and a lamp; no chair(s). Small smart tv worked okay, but was small and far enough from the only seating (bed) that it was hard to see. The beds were worn, but not unusable; we saw newer, more plush beds in other rooms, so maybe updates are coming. The shower was tiny - plastic-walled, flexing floor, barely warm, with exposed 2x4 supports. There was a heater in the closet that we needed during our last night; it was only partially functional. I appreciate they are in transition, and we weren't too picky, but it was a little startling and didn't feel super comfortable with kids.

Beautiful establishment. Super sweet staff. Everyone was very welcoming and accommodating.
The shower was lukewarm, at best. Having no way to circulate air except to freeze at night by opening the windows was uncomfortable

- a beautiful house in the Victorian style in a quiet residential area nearby the beach, with a garden around and an own small parking lot, a cosy and homely atmosphere (just a few rooms).
- a very spacious and lovely kitchen available for guests, we were welcome to grab a coffee or some fruit etc.
- a walking distance to the beach and a few minutes by car to other places to the hiking trailheads (as the Russian Gulch or the Glass beach or other coastal trails - the coast is of an exquisite beauty)
- the place is pretty pricey but for a short stay it was great to be there

Breakfast consisted of pancake mix sitting out on the counter with a griddle ready to plug in. It looked like someone had already used it as there was left over cooked pancake mix on the grill. The microwave did not work. We didn’t try anything else.
The pictures on your website did NOT MATCH the current condition of the residence. Most of the trees and landscaping were gone! Weeds and dried out lawn lay in patches. The paint was peeling off the walls. A wooden bed frame and some other items were leaning against the fence and a bucket and some other junk were sitting around as well. Upon entering, we were told that we needed to provide a credit card for incidentals. When we asked what incidentals, the Inn keeper said it was in case antiques were damaged or missing when we left. Inside, the first room that we were assigned, had an unfinished, unstained boarded up doorway on one side of the room. We traded with another couple who were assigned to the second floor room with two queen beds. We were told there was only one key for the room and if we lost it there was no master key. The tv and heater didn’t work and the Inn keeper was unable to get it to work either, stating she had called the cable company two days before but they hadn’t returned her call. The one outlet between the beds didn’t fully charge my phone over night. The outlet cover was missing, exposing the wiring. The drapes were so rotten that the lining was torn and hanging in shreds. The doorknob literally fell off in my hand when I tried to open the door. I worried the entire two nights I was there about a wiring fire and there were NO FIRE EXTINGUISHERS in sight anywhere. This place was unbelievable, extremely dangerous and below substandard. Even the sign in one of the photos had the name of this place as Lighthouse Inn, not Colonial Inn. I was looking forward to a relaxing and enjoyable stay. This was a nightmare and I want a refund.

Stayed for one night while on a road trip with a friend. Good location to access the ocean front (gorgeous sunsets). Clean & comfortable place.
minor, but the drain in bath wasn't working.

I was in Ft Bragg
could hear ALL conversations in the house.
outside was not kept up. inside needed
paint. while room was big, no way to heat
room. while homes around this one was nice
this should have been better prepared for
guests. won’t go back. also, a 50.00
cleaning fee? if I thought I left the room
dirty but I didn’t. I travel for a living and have
never paid a cleaning fee. that fee is just to
get more money, nothing less.

The beds were comfortable and he parking was easy and off of the street.
We needed the windows open because the room was so warm, but there are no screens on the windows so mosquitoes (and moths) were buzzing around our room at night. We woke up with mosquito bites. Open windows also let in alot of noise from a house party near the property, which went on with loud music until after midnight. The room has several lights and a TV, but they weren't plugged in, and couldn't be plugged in, because of how few electrical outlets there were in the room. This is advertised as a B and B, but there wasn't a breakfast included with the room, only coffee (which we don't drink) and instant sugary oatmeal.
