Attractive inn in downtown Ely. Comfortable and clean

We loved the pine paneling and appreciated how clean it is. We liked the option of breakfast at the nearby cafe for breakfast.

The air conditioner was very loud and not optional in terms of turning it off. The king bed was very comfortable but we could feel when the other person rolled over or got up.

Great location in Ely.Walkable to downtown businesses. Close to beach and short drive to hiking trails.

Room for 3 was okay with child in king size bed but wouldn't have been acceptable for 3 adults.

Our door rattled (Crimson) every time the front door was opened & shut! Need to add night lights….

It was clean ,it had a nice shower. It would be nice if you had a few family members staying in other rooms. You could have the whole place to yourself. It has a kitchen and a gathering area with chairs and games. I think there's around five rooms total in this place.

There's no one there to check you in. They send you a code to get in the door and then a code to get in your room.The bed was very uncomfortable and up against a wall, so if you wanted to get out of bed to go to the bathroom, you had to crawl over somebody. There was no place to sit at a small table or anything. If you wanted to watch tv, you had to watch it from bed.

Nice place to stay for the night.

Good value, easy check-in, patio right outside our door.

There were bright exterior lights that stayed on all night outside of the crimson room. The light was so bright shining into the room that we had to put a towel over the window where the light was shining through to block it. The inn is just like a house with several bedrooms with very thin walls. We could hear the guests with their very active children in the bedroom next to us.

I wish that every place we stayed weren’t as well as A Stay in Ely

we stay here a couple of times a year usually before the boundary waters, canoe, trip or, as in this case before a so dark trip. It is perfect for us clean, nice and very convenient.

I look forward to visiting again.

The Inn was centrally located, ideal for exploring all that the town had to offer. The room was charming. The kitchen/lounge area with fireplace and comfy chairs was inviting. The complementary breakfast was at a lovely coffee-shop cafe owned by the same management, located a short block away from the Inn.

I was a little bit nervous about the parking. It was in a steep, narrow, snow-covered alley. I wasn't sure I could get my car in and out safely.

Convenient location. Simple and excellent check in. Super Clean space. Excellent coffee shop and muffin a few steps away and included in the price. Highly recommended for an overnight stay. Convenient to all business and restaurants and retail downtown Ely offers.

Good location, easy access.

Home- like atmosphere.

Broken window shades, could be easily fixed to make it look more classy and give us privacy! We had to hang a bathroom towel over the window to keep people walking by from seeing into our bedroom!

great value, location, and super cozy

Amazing value and super cozy vibes! We loved grabbing our complimentary breakfast at the coffee shop nearby. loved seeing the history of the house and the cool news articles posted about.

Only complaint was that it didn’t feel very secure. The main door was always open and the door to our room wouldn’t lock (I think the battery was dead). Walls were a little thin but that’s to be expected in an old retrofitted house.

Look no further in Ely

Awesome location, right across from piragis outfitters if that fits your travels. Very comfortable stay. Would stay again and look no further when we see in the area again.

I don't think they gave us the king room I reserved but it wasn't an issue. Our room had more bedding than we needed but it was very comfortable.

The in provided a comfortable stay in a good location.

I liked the common sitting area and the kitchen. I appreciated having a private exit and a place to park my car. The room was comfortable.

There was a lot of noise inside the house from other guests’ normal movements. There was too much light coming through the private door’s window at night.

The bed was comfortable.

There was grit all over the floor. Not cleaned very well. We got no breakfast. The place we were supposed to go to get a muffin and coffee wasn't open when we left at 7:30 AM even though our welcome letter said it would be open at 7. I don't think we would stay there again.

It was a sweet little place, and I would love to see if other rooms had more space than ours.

It wasn't exactly what we expected to find but we liked how it was set up. It was convenient for shopping and eating. It was nice to have coffee in the morning and to have the breakfast partially paid for. We enjoyed looking at all the work that must have went into making this home a lodging place for travelers.

We didn't expect our room to be as small as it was. Even for two of us, there was no room to sit and watch television, (we had to lay in bed to watch tv, which isn't bad, but we would have liked to sit up and have a beverage) or sit and work on our computers. We actually didn't even have room for our two suitcases. That being said, it was an adorable room, just hard for two people to do more than just sleep in, and even then, difficult for one person to get out of since it is up against a wall, so I needed to scoot to the end (I'm a bit older in age) so this wasn't always easy in the middle of the night. The room we were in would be suited for a single person, not so much two people.

Great place to stay the evening before heading into the BWCA. Super close to Piragis outfitters

Breakfast was fantastic! Great coffee, not just your standard continental selection

The pull out bed was just a twin, which made it a little difficult for the four of us that we booked for. However, the kids managed.
