I rarely write reviews, but I had to write this one. Very little value for your money. Hostel staff (kitchen, refrigerator, hall, backyard) - everything is present. There is parking. Read about the rest below.
It all started with a lie in the description. We booked "Suite" for a family - two adults, one child. What do you imagine when you read "Private bathroom, Toilet"? Well, yes, after hundreds of hotels, you imagine an ordinary bathroom with a toilet. The bathroom may have a shower, it may have a bath, it doesn't matter. But you look forward to having a private shower in the morning.
In this "guesthouse" it means "toilet with sink". No more. For three we paid $215 per night. We have stayed in many places in Canada and this is a good hotel value. And if you lie in the description, that's a problem.
Already after the reservation, you are bombarded with a large number of messages. Fill out this form, then this one, then read more covid information (haven't calmed down with covid yet?). A lot about big fines for noise, heavy alcohol, for something else ...
The main thing is that the word "hostel" appears in these descriptions. Maybe this is the answer to the question - why can't you spend a miserable $500 and equip a shower in a fairly large toilet? Is it the law of the genre that hostel visitors have to suffer?
Next - savings on everything. Two beds, a chair, and two rough waist-length wardrobes without a single shelf. It's all. Everything looks like a cell is being made in a prison. You didn't even think to spend $0.5 and nail simple coat hooks. Yes, we should hang clothes on the bed, throw them on a chair, we can put them on the floor. After all, this is a hostel. Yes, for $215 (low season). Students should not be concerned about such trifles as hangers. After all, you allow drinking beer, why do we need a shower and hangers?
Everything else is more or less normal. Hostel staff (kitchen, refrigerator, hall, backyard) - everything is present. There is parking. But we went to rest with the family. And I didn't really enjoy taking my son to the shared shower every morning.

Clean, well-run, friendly staff, well sound-proofed, kitchen exceptionally well organized and appointed
Um........... (cheaper..?)

Staff helped us book a boating tour.
Lounge area and kitchen closed at night.

Communal kitchen is very convenient and well equipped. Five star view from the dining area. The beds are quite comfortable. Shared washroom facilities weren't overcrowded apart from the Women's at peak times
It's a hostel, not really a "Guest House". Once you get past that, it's fine. Price was high for the accommodation received but I guess that's Tofino.

I did not have any breakfast did not know there was any
We drove at first they basically told us there was no parking and then when they found my friend was with a handicap sign they let us park your website should outline there is limited parking

Location was ok. Rooms were clean. Facilities decent.
Exceedingly expensive. 5pm check in time is ridiculous.
10pm lights out/shutting common areas is ridiculous.
Uncomfortable mattresses.
3.5
Ocean view on room
Room was extremely expensive for being a hostel. I paid $550 for one night and the room only had beds and a bathroom which is quite expensive for the limited amenities

Whalers on the point is in a great location, within walking distance to everything you need and a short drive to local beaches. The room was comfortable and there was a fully equipped kitchen with everything you needed and you could enjoy your breakfast in the morning overlooking the beautiful bay.
Anyone driving just needs to be aware that they will charge you to park your car here, and they were quite adamant that everyone had to have their own designated parking space so we all had to play musical cars on day one.
We booked this accommodation with the impression that it was a guest house but it was more of a hostel. We were extremely surprised to find out that there were only a couple of other travellers staying as the accommodation was mostly booked up with a school group- and we thought our school days were over 10 years ago! Although they were relatively well behaved they seemed mostly unsupervised and did make some noise in the evenings/early morning. Customer service wasn't the best as the lady on check out was quite rude to us and we also witnessed her being rude to another member of staff.

The late check in at 5pm and really slow check out to get your deposit back

Nice living room
The bed was terrible. Not enough parking. The hostel is not well situated in Tofino. It's as expensive as a normal hotel but without the comfort.
4.5
The location is superb, accommodations were cheap and cheerful, staff had their stuff together. As a broke university student, I give whalers on the point 10 outta 10. Keep it 100 guys, COME VISIT TOFINO!

4.5
The place and the facilities. Everything was clean, the kitchen was well equipped and the views were nice.
Is far away from the beaches if you don't a car.
But if you rent a bike you can make it to the beaches.

We got in later and just slept and left in the morning
The person that checked us in, could have been much quicker and nicer, she seemed quite grumpy

Room really excellent : splendid view , confortable beds, space as we were only 2 in a room for 4 , location inside the center is also great , ability to cook and keep in fridge
personal could be more friendly - half of bathroom closed - a lot of "don't do that else you pay xxx"

Had such an amazing stay at Whalers! Came during the slow season so they upgraded us free of charge because we were celebrating💛staff were lovely and very helpful. Only critique is that the pool table was out of commission but that I assume that is a covid precaution. Will be back!

very laid back easy to deal with no regrets
everything was awesome
