The quietness
The pool was closed, and there were so many unnecessary fees that were not included at the time of booking!!

They disregarded my request to cancel

It was clean and staff was friendly
That I didn’t know it was 2 hotels in 1..And the parking was too over crowded and having to pay 13/ night to walk cross the road to my room I think wasn’t right
2.0
The room overall was big and comfortable.
We had to try three different rooms at check in, after driving for three hours. The first rooms door was broken so it wouldn’t close (it was legitimately off the frame so I’m not sure how cleaning individuals or whoever inspects rooms didn’t notice). The second room was right next to the elevator, handicap accessible with low features and extremely dirty, the third room was also dirty but we gave up. We went to Publix and bought cleaning supplies. Didn’t use the shower while we were there because it was filthy. The dish washer had a pool of brown water sitting in it so we hand washed our dishes and the floors were horrible and covered in crumbs. There was no cover for the garbage disposal and it was full of food items. The hallways leading to the rooms were littered with trash. Saw several cleaning people just ignore the dirty hallways. We took pictures of everything and are happy to provide them.

Good location
Tremendously understaffed for SC honors choir weekend……rooms not ready at 3 - I was given a room key for a room with someone in it, then took another hour of getting a room, room smelled like cologne had been dropped on floor, bathrooms near ballroom smelled of urine with wet floors and at time none of the stalls had toilet tissue

The location was very convenient.
Breakfast menu was very limited and finished too quickly. I did not get my room cleaned throughout my stay and i was there for more than 4 days

Spacious, clean
I was hoping we could walk to dinner and the Colonial Life Center, but we were a bit far.

Checked in on Tuesday, out on Sunday, asked 3 times to get room cleaned, never happened! Toilet seat was broke, no soap or shampoo! One of the dispensers fell off the wall in middle of night!
Lazy employees

location was great for our purpose
we weren’t given the right room. booked a king room and received 2 doubles. it wasn’t a big deal. we checked in and visited friends. came back to a hot room. air would not work, although it was running. it was late and just me and my young daughter. did not want to have to deal with changing rooms so late. tried calling front desk multiple times to get someone to check the air or try to fix it. continued to be “busy” and no answer for an extended period of time. I finally gave up when my child fell asleep. glad it was only 1 night.

comfortable bed, good A/C, clean, good location, good parking
The fire alarm went off at 4am and the staff were incredibly unhelpful and not at all sympathetic. I spoke to one guest who was staying there for a month and he said the fire alarm had gone off in the middle of the night FOUR times during his stay. To me this is unforgivable. A hotel has ONE job and that is to provide a place for guests to SLEEP. There is no way to justify allowing this issue to go unremedied.

Location is excellent for being close to University of South Carolina. It’s very clean and has great parking. Staff is very nice.
Bedding is not enough. Would be better to have some think blankets or a warmer comforter.

beautiful hotel, loved the room
person on reception desk not the best-mumbled even when we asked him to speak up and $13 for parking is not Columbia standard-especially on he weekend

Location
Holes in curtain, Pennies found in bed. At midnight had to go BACK out to car to put in the parking pass. Tired and didn’t want the hassle. Fire alarm went off.

The house keeping was atrocious in responding to any needs. We started with a room that wasn’t cleaned well, the bathroom wasn’t supplied with toiletries and when we finally received towel they did not give us enough for the number of guests in our room.
The next day we had to ask at least 5 times throughout the whole day for towels.
The front desk staff was always friendly, accommodating and as helpful as possible (that’s who personally brought us towels one day after several requests and a full day of waiting).
The third day we had to take pool towels so we could shower.
Our family wanted to use the ping pong table so the initial front desk employee told my husband to go buy paddles and a ball because he couldn’t locate them. But once a more experienced front desk employee was asked, she made sure she located and supplied them about an hour later. Our kids had a great time with that the last two days.

1. For 10 days they didn’t clean my room, or change the sheets or towels. On the 11th day, I had to request it explicitly.
2. Every second day waffle maker was out of order. Today there is no cream cheese.
3. I was not able to wash my clothes, because they have no washing powder and because payment is through some mobile application and Google Pay or Apple Pay services.
4. Plastic utensils of the worst kind.
5. There is nothing around the hotel. To have dinner or buy something we have to drive 7.5 miles.
6. Hotel is in the middle of the renovation.

Good but not very good
They charged twice besides booking.com charge for the parking (approx $67) and some unknown charge ($128), however I never drove there

Breakfast was good. We had a problem with the door handle and the door being out of square and hard to close. the next morning they had it fixed.
The drink machine was down at breakfast having to wait on something to drink kind of sucked but they did wait needed to be done.

location
I arrived on December 15th at 3pm and did not get a room until 6:45pm. Upon arrival, there only about 5 of us in the lobby. Another 20-25 people arrived after my arrival and all got into their rooms before I did. I had a banquet to attend at 7pm. I arrived there at 8pm. Also, when I finally arrived in my room, the bedside table was dirty.

Location is good for restaurants and shopping close by.
Our first room had a sink full of Rat feces! Had to move rooms! I wanted to leave but all other hotels in the area were booked! The 2nd room didn’t have any curtains, only a very thin shear pull down shade! Made it extremely difficult to sleep past 6:45am, being that our room had direct sunlight at dawn!! The AC unit sounded like a Spaceship taking off every time it came on, VERY LOUD! Made it difficult to fall asleep and stay asleep! Did NOT get very much sleep at all!!!
