We really enjoyed our stay. The staff was super helpful and welcoming. It’s in a great location - so many different restaurants and bars within walking distance. Big plus that it was pet friendly, and they were so welcoming to our pup.
We enjoyed everything!

Right near the waterfront and right downtown. It is a wonderful old hotel with some great classic features and a ballroom.
There is the potential for some noise from the activities in the ballroom but we were on the top floor and it was quiet.

The hotel is in a great location relative to the downtown area. Very friendly staff. Everyone in the town is friendly and approachable. Just love the residents!
Hit and miss on the staff. Some knew the local activities and restaurants and others knew nothing.
There was a plumbing problem with the tub drain that the hotel could not resolve until after my 3 days stay. Ended up standing in 6 inches of water with each shower. Hotel needs some deferred maintenance addressed. Will not recommend this hotel to friends.
Additionally, there is a growing skid row issue with the vagrants, alcoholics, and drug addicts right at the corner of the parking lot with two of the three-night stay having individuals yelling throughout the night. The local town government needs to address this issue as it not only impacts the hotel but all the local businesses. I have been coming to Eureka every 5 years but will not make this a destination until the town supports the local merchants more on this front.

Breakfast was delicious! Victoria was great!
Lighting in bathroom. Noisy. Not enough pillows!—just joking!

Beautiful decor
The blanket was too thin, leaving me cold at night.

We loved the history and making preservation a priority of the old hotel. Our rooms were spacious and we used a couple of the common rooms to play cards at night. Parking was free and easy. Some of the furniture was truly lovely. Nice light breakfast in the mornings. The staff was very accommodating!
Unfortunately the location is right on the edge of a grittier area and our room was on the street overlooking this. Could have used a curtain on the window between the room and a little hallway to lessen the light in the AM and the hot sun in the afternoon.

Location, was close to all downtown activities. Front desk was very kind and helpful. Room was pretty, On site restaurant was delicious.
Not the fault of the hotel, but there is a large group of homeless that seem to live on 2nd close to the hotel. They yell a lot at all hours... it was hard not to hear. The noise machine helped.

Neighborhood a little sketchy...mission right across the street, several homeless in the area, but no one bothered us.

The location is fabulous, the hotel is a grand old historic building, the staff were helpful, and the restaurants were very good.
Room 21 lacked air conditioning, but the weather was favourable. The walls weren’t soundproof, and there wasn’t a TV, but there was one in the next room which was clearly heard late at night, along with the plumbing whenever at toilet or shower was used.

We were stunned by the tastefully chosen decoration in this historic building. You can feel the love for detail that went into its interior, including our spacious guest room. After dinner enjoyed a drink the the spacious hall with its impressively decorated glass ceiling.
Complimentary coffee, tea and yoghourt is available for breakfast.
The hotel staff was very friendly. Plenty of free parking is available.
Can't be topped.
