Im giving this location a low rating because the owner never responded to my request of the accommodations were not the same that was advertised. This room offered was inside someone’s house and not a separate entrance. I did not feel safe sleeping inside someone’s house in an extra bedroom. This space was not comparable to what was booked. No separate entrance, no a/c only fans offered, no fireplace, kitchenette or washer or dryer.Below are pictures of the room that offered. I texted/emailed the owner and no response was received regarding my concerns. I left the property and stayed at a hotel.

Rooms were clean but
It's an Airbnb, I thought it was a hotel. No staff once I was shown to my room I was told to make myself at home and I never saw him again.
No staff
on site...I yes me had guests arrive at 3 am and no one to welcome them but me. He asked a bunch of questions about the place he thought was a hotel. He was very concerned since he already paid for the room as was I upon arrival.
Long story short he brought his wife in they checked the room out asked me some more questions and we both returned to our rooms. About 10 minutes later I heard them leave. I called the emergency contact number 2 or 3 times but no one answered and mailbox was full. I left for the airport shortly after the couple left. The reason I stayed was I had a long layover because of a missed flight and needed some rest, needless to say I got none zero nada. I fell for what I think is a scam I done know sure crazy but the accommodations were decent. If you have further questions please call me 828-750-4146
Sincerely,
Bob Phaup

Location
Everything. 1. It's not what is described, its a private home with no instructions on what you are to do, many things broken outside, and could see window blinds broken on the top floor from outside. 2. We showed up just past 7pm to check in, after ringing bell many times, knocking and waiting, no one ever showed or answered. 3. The phone number listed didn't work. 4. Contacted booking.com, they were able to contact the host and he said he was there and we never showed up. (Lie, I have a picture of the house) 5. After booking.com was off the phone with us (mistake), host became hostile and told us to cancel, we stated we didn't call to cancel if he is there but just wanted to check in and couldn't, he then hung up on us. Booking.com won't refund either.
THIS IS A SCAM. DONT BOOK. I REPEAT, DO NOT BOOK.

It was a place to sleep. That is the only good part of our stay.
We could not shower. The water was either boiling or freezing. You couldn't have hot and cold on at the same time. There was only 1 washcloth and 1 towel for both of us for 3 days. The owner was rude. We took our little trash can downstairs before we left and he wanted my 74 yr old mother to take it all out. There was only upstairs or basement rooms and that was very hard on my mother. When I put in filters to book a room, one of the filters I used was a pool. This didn't have a pool, but it had a pool table. Which is why it popped up.

I don’t know, I was only there for 10 minutes before I found a syringe and cockroaches on the floor
The sketchy listing should’ve been my first clue. Upon booking, I figured I’d receive more instructions for checking in, but didn’t. So when I arrived, I wasn’t sure what to do. I went up and rang the doorbell, no one answered. Knocked, and a gentleman opens the door. He was friendly, but I didn’t recognize him from the listing. He asked me to come in and sit in the living room while he prepared my room. He then led me to a room in the (finished) basement. The room had a lock on the door, but he wasn’t able to give me a key. I then found a syringe on the floor, and a few cockroaches nearby (see photo). I told the gentleman about the syringe (he didn’t even know what a syringe was), and bailed. I emailed the owner for a refund, but haven’t heard back after 2 days. I’ll be taking this up with booking.com directly.

Close to the airport
I was shocked, like everybody else it seems, to find that this wasn’t a hotel or motel but a private house.
I made the mistake of not reading the reviews prior to booking the room. But now that I have, I agree with most guests’ assessments. No check-in, no host or receptionist, dirty floor mats and used personal toiletries in the bathroom. If you read the other’s reviews you’ll get the picture.
However, I think what this place really needs to do is, first, add “Homestay” or “Guesthouse” to their name on Booking.com, and people would be less likely to fall in the trap of thinking this is a hotel, when making a reservation. Second, they need to keep the bathrooms and common areas clean. Third, they need to eliminate the breakfast from their advertising, because in reality they don’t give you breakfast, they let you use the kitchen and at best, they let you take some of their bread and coffee, if there’s any. I was lucky that I happened to have camping equipment with me and was able to use my camp soap and some camp food, but not everyone travels like that.
I booked two nights at this place and it wasn’t until this morning before leaving that I ran into the manager. The guy had been there all along but never identified himself as the manager until I asked him directly. I started to give him my feedback about how it would be more beneficial if they included the word “guesthouse” in their name, but the guy got a bit defensive and tried to convince me that it was people’s own fault to think they this was a hotel, and that he offered the best rates in the airport area. So I left it at that, and avoided entering a pointless argument.
All in all I didn’t have a bad experience here, my initial shock went away as soon as I got used to the idea that this was more like staying at some relatives’ place, and not exactly at a hotel.
The big lesson for me is: Read the Reviews before booking.

The property was not a hotel as we thought. A house in a residential neighborhood.
A gentleman and I needed a place to stay as we missed our flight. he is a retired pilot and I am a flight attendant. We shared an Uber and even the driver said he had never brought anyone to this location before. We each paid $101 for a room-nonrefundable! Even though we showed up and no one was there. I would like to get my money back as we felt it was a scam. We also had a $180 Uber ride to get there and bring us back to the airport. All for naught!

First the address was listed as jabel st. It is actually n jabel. The house had its number not fully displayed. Door was locked even after confirming late check in. The contact number was not operational. Went streight to voicemail which was full. So we encountered a expensive uber ride to a room. We could not check into. with no refund. Sounds like a scam. Felt like a scam. Looks like a scam. I have finally contacted the operater to ask for a refund by text. Have called aptox 10 times or so over the last 10 days We will see how he operates. I hope you do not support such operatios.

The Hosts of Airport Layover were very welcoming!
Not listed as a “house” in the description; made arriving to location a little confusing.

Very friendly staff. Room was comfortable. Bathroom is handicap accessible which was important to me.
If the room had the ability to have the thermostat changed. It got hot during the night and the ceiling fan was on high and i couldnt turn it down. Probably not a big deal to most people.

I didn’t get a refund after thinking this place was a hotel when it was actually a house with 20 other strangers living in it and immediately felt unsafe since the room provided didn’t have a lock. This place needs to be removed from Booking.com
The staff also did a horrible job attending to my concern & proceeded to say I needed proof of photos or video of this horrible housing situation.
I left after the host greeted me and did not spend the night here so I should be entitled for a refund!!
