An oasis

This hotel is a little oasis tucked away among numerous hotels lined next to each other by the ocean. When I was there the ocean was extremely high making it impossible to jostle on the beach. The hotel room I had was outstandingly beautiful, all the furniture was well appointed. The food needs improvement and refinement. Most of the food was overly salted. I tried breakfast lunch and dinners. The service was friendly and the property was quite empty. The pools, the yards, were perfectly manicured and kept so beautiful. It is right outside the road yet you feel like you are in your own little heaven. There is a bar and a restaurant, all without AC and terribly humid and hot. The AC in the rooms work really good. I loved this place and hope to return

Our happy place, we will be back.

Easy, comfortable, good location, pretty, went out of their way to insure our comfort at all times. Stayed in a room with private pool, never used the private pool as the main pool was just stunning to use but the room size and layout of this room was perfect for a long stay.

Food was rather underwhelming, maybe because it was out of season even so they really tried. There is a couple of good restaurants near (walking distance).

Magical place, serene atmosphere, great food and extremely kind staff.

The location of this property is magical. While it is just beside a very busy street, it is SO serene and you will feel like you are in a cocoon of serenity and tranquility when you stay at Era Beach. Amazing pool, beach views and beach breeze will provide for an amazing stay. The staff are incredibly nice, accommodating, helpful and kind. They make this place amazing.

Some little things were not catered for and while they did not make our stay unpleasant it would have been nice to experience these little touches (it was previously managed by the hotel chain Jetwing and then it was impeccable). The rooms did not have fans and while the A/C was great, it would have been nice to have the option of having a fan instead of the A/C during the night. Some amenities in the room were also not provided - but again nothing major.

Era beach is a relaxing place to stay, the staff were amazing and couldn't do enough for you.

Breakfast was really tasty. Fresh fruit, fruit juice and tea/coffee as standard and during our stay we also had a Sri Lankan breakfast, waffles, pancakes and a Sri Lankan omelette which came with hash brown, bacon, baked beans and mushrooms. We never felt hungry after!

There was nothing we didn't like. We ate dinner at the hotel a number of times. The Sri Lankan food was so tasty.

Felt like our private Villa since we were there during the weekdays. Staff is top notch - willing to make accommodations for our requests. The pool was clean. Food was above average (Srilankan food only because we didn't eat anything else) - I don't think you can do better in that general vicinity since we tried a few other establishments in the neighborhood. This place is a gem overall if you are looking to rest and relax.

Couldn't close bathroom door from inside the room. No door handle. Not a major issue but Swimmable beach is about 300m south. You can walk there along the beach.

Great place to finish up the Sri Lanka trip(or start for that matter). - great breakfast, especially compared to other 4/5 star places we stayed in SL. - friendly staff, really helpful. - close to unawatuna / galle

Just as gentle tips; - A bit more choices regarding food and drinks would be nice. - one night, before 10pm there was no staff te be found so not able to get a drink before going to bed - pool could be cleaned more,

This was a really lovely place. The location on the beach is fantastic. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. Food was very good. Staff were all very friendly and attentive. A very civilised place to stay.

Amazing place, would come back again

Amazing location. Very beautiful and clam. The staff was very helpful, attentive, and hospitable. Experienced true Sri Lankan hospitality. Food is very tasty. The serenity of the place is unmatched!

The building require updates. Ceiling fan wasn't working so got a pedestal fan. Water drain in the shower cubicle was slow. USB ports on wall bases weren't working. Water jets in plunge pool wasn't working. We expected the room to be more clean, the sofa and the floor rug seemed to be old and dusty.
