The Inn is an inexpensive alternative to Lake Placid resorts for folks who might want to ski the next day. Our room was clean and had what we needed. We liked staying in a historical place (built in 1808). The tavern downstairs had a tasty dinner. The record player in the room was a nice touch.
Bathroom door didn't close very well, but perhaps that is a consequence of an 1808 building.

The room was clean and well decorated.
The walls were thin. We could hear the folks in the adjacent room snoring. Also, the heater situation was not the best.

Bedroom, bathroom and sitting area upstairs were very nice but rest of property was empty and didn’t realise that bar and restaurant would be closed on Tuesday which was disappointing as nowhere else nearby to go.

It was a very convenient location between Westport and Lake Placid. We did not eat at the restaurant but heard very good things about it. We look forward to trying it in the future!

beautiful country side and characteristic lodging.
we loved the books and the turntables!
there is a tavern, yet upon arrival it appeared to be closed. unfortunately. also, a warning upfront would have been helpful

Lovely room, good location, nice restaurant downstairs.
Had some problems with check-in and check-out, never received any messages with instructions. But those were quickly solved.

good location in town
our room had an enclosed porch with wall of windows with a window air conditioner and a box fan in the inside wall window which did not cool the sleeping area. Wi-Fi kept going in and out. the door to the hallway did not lock when we left the room and bed was not comfortable. no one on site so we had to text about the Wi-Fi.

this place is awesome. the staff is so great- it’s clean and cool with great record players and old vinyls in the rooms- decor is awesome and it’s just a great find, total gem.
only drawback is limited hot water for showers - tried to shower when we checked in and water was cold after the first person in our group was done.

The location and the atmosphere are nice. Do not expect to find a Classic hotel with daily room service and modern furniture
Faucet too old and water dripping
Very few choices for eating in the neighborhood

The inn was so quaint, cozy and comfortable. The updates were very nicely done. However, the bathroom sink continuously leaked and was old/outdated. Not a huge deal, but with all the other nicely done attributes, it would have been a nicer update.
Only complaint (which really isn't one, not a big deal) was the bathroom sink was leaky and old. The faucet was loose on one side and the other side continuously leaked.

The restaurant was great, the room is lovely and the bed is very comfortable.
I liked everything especially the young lady that took care of us.

This is reputed to be the oldest inn in the Adirondacks and it retains it's sense of history and charm. Current owners have decorated it in retro style which gives it just enough of a contemporary feel and updated look to make it feel fresh. Dinner is served in the inn from Wednesday through Sunday which was, unfortunately, not available on the Tuesday I was registered to stay. This is my only regret as the dining area and bar look charming. Rooms well appointed with refrigerator, record player and plenty of light- comfortable bed and very clean room.
Surrounding area doesn't have much to offer in way of restaurants....for example, The Arsenal, which is down the street, for example, was out of 50% of items on their menu including ice! Really recommend staying at inn when dining room is open.

Super cute space, with a really attentive owner. Really nicely renovated etc.
Happened to be a hot weekend, which is unusual. Unfortunately there is no AC in the bedroom, only a small one in the adjacent office/lounge room. So was very hot in the room

The location was good. The comfort was good. The quietness of the area was incredible in that there was no sound but crickets after dinner. Although it was VERY peaceful. There are plenty of books and music to listen to for entertainment. A good walk is always available.
There was no TV.

We loved this place! NO TV...but an LP stereo in each room...with a large selection of albums! This small, adorable place was the best break in a long string of chain hotels. Excellent food, also. Lots of thoughtful details. Owner was so friendly. Don’t miss this one.

Breakfast not available at The Deer's Head but good offerings in the vicinity.
Stairs challenging for older guest and for guests with musical equipment.

Quaint Place to stay overnight. Clean, in town and close to ADK.Not crowded. Love the place , will come here instead of Lake Placcid. Nice Restaurant downstairs.
We love the place

We had visited Deer's Head Inn over 30 years ago with our young children. The dramatic changes are too numerous to entirely express.Suffice to say we were totally impressed and would recommend without hesitating.
Perhaps some additional coffee pouches for the Keurig
