特殊的藝術裝置住宿空間,寬敞獨擁的戶內外泡湯區,竟然還有烤火取暖用的專區!
需要通過公共走道才能到達專屬的化妝室空間上廁所。

Very specious and clean apartment. Very comfortable beds. Private Onsen for each apartment. great price. great combination of traditional and modern stay.
We had fireworks waiting for us - nice personal touch.
Need to be prepared to the fact that this is an unusual place. Some of the decor is troubling and needed getting used to before we felt "at home".
one of the rooms did not have an AC, only fan. this could be a problem in the summertime.
The shower is downstairs, in the private Onsen (No shower in the apartment, only toilet)

Absolutely amazing location between the lakes and Mount Lo! Tons of space and could easily fit 4 people. A very very very unique space.
The art was a little scary to us! It was awesome but a little freaky.

It was very nice to have a private onsen and the rooms were large and comfortable. The art installations and theming were very interesting and really added to the experience.

It's a very unique experience especially since we rented out the whole hotel.
There were quite a few bugs in the shower area as it is connected to the outdoors

A real special place full of surprises.
The indoor onsen is not clean.

It's a very quiet area we just stopped over for 1 night. The room is very interesting and stands out as its not like any hotel we have stayed before. The room is huge with interesting decor and the beds are so comfy.

Very spacious room, even had a private onsen indoor and outdoor and a balcony. The guest house is also an art gallery, so there are interesting pieces everywhere. There are several restaurants within 1-2 blocks walk. We were there to visit Lake Kussharo and other parts of Akan Mashu National Park, very convenient location. The staff left us park maps and information. There is even a picnic basket and mini-fridge in the room.
We really enjoyed everything. If I could make one suggestion, having tea in the room would have been perfect.

There are alot of things to improve in this hotel, but yet, there are sooo many things that they have done right in this place!
1) Finding the hotel in the snow was not easy. Pls rely on the map code. Host can improve by sending out pre information about the map code and such for people to easily find this place.
2) Being in Japan, english was not practised much but it was passable & we could understand.
3) We were first briefed that our bathroom would be in a separate place and this worried us initially since we always wanted an attached bathroom. (toilet was in the room though)
And now the wonderful parts!
1) The personal and private onsen(both indoor & outdoor was totally wow!), especially in winter!
2) Host was very accomodating and hospitable. They actually put together an english tourist information and placed it in the shoe box for us to find the next day! That was a wonderful geature!
3) Host saw that it was snowing, without asking, prepared us to umbrella for us to use!
4) As a leaving present, host actually prepared a little something as a farewell gift!
5) It was a very very quiet place filled with very friendly & helpful people. We were stuck in the snow whilst trying to get out in the morning and someone driving past actually stopped to help us push our car out! This was very appreciated!
A small hotel with 3 rooms only, definitely private, like a quirky art museum, and a very comfortable place to stay!
Loved the set up(and every night in winter, a bonfire!) of the hotel managed by a small staff only.
It was a lovely lovely stay and we would return in winter again, just to experience the onsen again.
There was no microwave/cooking facilities. Breakfast would need to be simple but other than that, the place is for you to enjoy totally!

staying inside an art museum… huge room
the futon is too thin

Interesting, quirky, clean and comfortable. Lots of space in the room and very convenient for good friendly restaurants and a convenience store. Very relaxing private onsen. Loved the art everywhere.
we liked everything.

1. Location
2. Private Onsen
3. Spacious rooms and washroom
4. Various musical instruments to play(My child loved it)
1. lighting inside room were insufficient, I wish it could
be more brighter options available.

Very friendly staff. Nice private outdoor Onsen. There was a bonfire at night, and also musical instruments for guests to play at level 1.
Room was very spacious.
We went during non peak period so we were the only guests staying. The toilet is separated from the room.
Was a little scary since we were the only one staying. It may’ve been more fun if there were other guests, or bigger groups of guests staying together.

this is a very unique place! it is very unsual. there are art every single corner inside and around.
there are only 3 rooms, they are very spacious (we got the room #1); around 70m2 with a huge terrace. Each room has his own private onsen.
Very closed to the LAKE KUSSHARO; you can enjoy the free onsen by the lake.

The ArtInn is run by wonderful staff - who are able to speak some English, for those who need - and the rooms they have provided combine a quirky, unique aesthetic with plenty of creature comforts. Though we travelled as a couple, this seems like an excellent location for larger groups too; with a huge amount of shared relaxation space on the hotel's ground floor (which is also decked out with plenty of fascinating artwork).
The rooms were very affordable for their size and comfort. Each room has its own private onsen, drawn from the natural hot water sources which the town is built on, and relaxing in the large bath after a long day of hiking is sure to put you in a good mood. Kawayu is a wonderful town, surrounded by scenic forests and lakes - with a dozen incredible locations all accessible in less than an hour by car. The town itself also has a range of quaint little souvenier shops, and some decent food to boot.
The sulphur smell of natural hot springs water is strong throughout the whole of Kawayu, so those who particularly dislike it may want to consider a different destination. Also, as the name ArtInn may suggest, the rooms are covered in interesting, visually arresting work. If art isn't your thing perhaps take a look at the pictures before deciding if you want to stay.

A lot of space, style in the rooms, big toilet room and private onsen bath.

Great stay there. Such a nice atmosphere and very kind host.
Well located within walking distance of restaurants and reasonable driving distance to everything you need to see in the Akan/Mashu region.

A gorgeous inn with personality, beautiful art work everywhere ! There is even an cosy outdoor onsen for private use ! The inn does not serve meal but its just a few minutes walk to the nearby eateries and cafe.
There's nothing we don't like.

Everything was perfect! Nice owners, really helpful. Private onsen - indoor and outdoor. Art is everywhere which makes the hotel with the 3 guestrooms perfect. A lot of restaurants nearby. We love it!
