Great location in Cartmel, nice sized room (room 21 overlooking the square), lots of natural light, comfortable bed, nice breakfast, staff were very friendly and efficient, good food, good wine selection and really nice outdoor seating area in the sun next to the river.

great place to stay staff are very friendly food was amazing we got up graded as well to a huge room
great that we got up graded but only down side there was no fixed shower it was a hand held one and the tv was very small for room size but these are minor in comparison of overall stay which was great

Good location
Low sloping ceilings and beams a bit of a pain in top floor room
The one easy chair could do with replacing or being reupholstered.

breakfast good, evening menus fine. Room was quirky and typical for a property of this age. Village is sweet. Good location to visit the Morecambe Bay coast and local attractions.
Parking is a nightmare in such a small village with narrow lanes and limited on road parking. Local community 24hr pay car park available which was only a short walk from the property. Car parking at rear of property has been given over to outdoor seating-pity.

The room was small.. but we booked a small room. The breakfast was superb, as was the dinner at the pub in the evening. The staff through our time there were very engaged and worked hard to make our stay a good one. One of the party had an accident (not a fault of the pub) resulting ina twisted ankle, and the care given by Peter was both prompt and excellent, allowing a significant recovery by the following day.
