The location was excellent. It’s right in the beach. Beds were comfortable.
rooms were dingy, rooms needed a fresh paint job, bathroom had cob webs that appeared to have been there for a long time. Lack overall cleanliness. Lacked facilities and difficult to find anyone working who spoke English at all.

location
no staff greet us upon our arrival, the place was dead no lights and the security guard handled the room keys. the room and furniture hasn’t been updated in a long time. the room looks like it wasn’t be cleaned properly.

The hotel is in a nice location away from the fray of the town. Generally a pleasant atmosphere.
Our room was directly off the restaurant which normally wouldn't have been so bad, but the base speaker of their sound system was next to our wall, which provided only base pounding which lasted all day. Same beat, same music. It was difficult to rest at all during the day in the room due to the music. We had to ask the manager both nights of our stay to turn down/off the music so that we could sleep. He was amicable enough, but we didn't feel like he genuinely was looking out for out comfort, or oblivious that the sound was so disturbing for hotel guests. There are not lounge chairs for guest use on the beach, only chairs and tables. We also sat at the outdoor tables around lunch time for some time before having to go up to the bar ourselves to order drinks Three employees where congregating up at the bar, and had no other guests there at the time . We had planned to eat at the restaurant, but were so tired of hearing the same beat of music all day long had to leave for dinner for a break.

There is no breakfast option...this is not a quality of a 4 star hotel. this hotel is a SCAM
Do NOT stay in this hotel. This hotel advertises as being 4 stars and it is not even 2 stars. I booked two nights, and when I arrived with my family, the building is nothing like they show in their advertisement photos. We paid extra for the larger room, that later found out it was the same as all other rooms. The bathroom doesn't have hot water, there is no staff at all from 7 pm-noon, they don't provide toiletries, the building is so run down, and there is mold on the walls. It is so unsafe to arrive after 7 pm, since there is no security nor any lighting in the hallways. The locks of the room and the safe have been forced. The linens and towels are nasty. There aren't any food options from 7 pm-noon, including breakfast, since there is none in the hotel to assist. These are not qualities of a 4-star hotel.
We spoke with management about these issues at the beginning of the stay, and we were told the owner was out of town and unable to help us. We decided to leave because we were afraid for our safety, and our young children's safety, as well as very disappointed with the service and the hotel overall. It was certainly NOT what we paid for as the hotel advertised to us. I requested to be refunded for the night we didn't use and because the hotel is not what they advertise. The owner contacted me back being incredibly rude and insulting me for complaining and wanting a refund for the unused night.
I definitely do NOT recommend this hotel, and I request Booking to review their contract with this hotel which is clearly falsely advertised.

The bar/restaurant attached to this place was nice and had a lovely area to sit on the beach. Staff were very nice and friendly! There is a night guard on the beachfront side since the cafe is just open to the beach, this made us feel safe.
The room was not at all what we were expecting. For what we paid for the room we expected more. If you get this for a really cheap price its fine to stay in but its very outdated. The towel literally ripped in the middle when we tried to dry off with it. the bed sheets were clean but had rips in them. There is no room cleaning service. We ran out of toilet paper and had to find bar staff to ask for some. One night the bar had a DJ which we just didn't expect and it was very loud. Be sure to let staff know if you're going out after 830pm even. We went to dinner and returned to find the gate locked. They turn off every single light so make sure you bring your phone for a flashlight when you come back after dark. We didn't even bother getting in the pool since it looked kind of scummy and green, but we did see it being cleaned one day out of the three we were there.

Beachfront location and tranquil surroundings
Little service for guests.

The staff was some of the nicest people we ran into across our whole stay in Costa Rica. The location is outside of town, and town isn’t chaos by any means but it’s by far the best place on the beach in playas del coco. The vibe of the hotel is very chill and restaurant set up is gorgeous! The pool area is lovely and the pool man was very thorough of keeping it clean.
I think the prices were fair for food and drinks, maybe more than I expected- but also from the dishes we got the chef was great! Only thing we didn’t love was the bedroom/pool side king bed. It was a little tight to move around in and the shower was very hard coming out of the head.

right on the beach, beautiful beach restaurant also on the beach with excellent sunset view
No breakfast on site. it’s kind of weird that a restaurant with “cafe” in the name doesn’t open for breakfast. It’s not the end of the world but a little bit of a pain to walk into town in the morning to find something when it’s hot, even though it’s only 10 minutes or so to a place called Guayoyo which is excellent.

The location of the beach and pool were great. The food was very good as was the happy hour. The place was quiet at night and we had very good sleeps.
The rooms were small. The shower had no water pressure and kept cutting out the hot water as well. Our bed was lopsided/saggy on one side where I almost rolled off a few times.

I would never stay here again. check out my Google review for the details.

Close to the beach. Very nice staff and very helpful. Good restaurant but didn’t open until 11
A breakfast bar or open in the morning so we Gould get more coffee and something to eat. It is not within walking distance of another place to eat and get more coffee. We could make one cup each in the room but I’m would have liked more.

Being right on the beach was a bonus. We loved cooling off with a beer before exploring on foot, then returning to enjoy a delicious dinner (the best of our entire trip!) while enjoying live music. Magical!

Right on the ocean
A little far from town. 1 mile. But it was quite and that’s good in its own way.

We ordered fried snapper it was ok sat for 30 + minutes no service at all no drinks. 4 people working 2 cleaning outdoor furniture female with an attitue and another guy who thought he was more important than the other 3. A man who appeared to be the owner with his 2 sons running around and a nanny who was on her phone almost the whole time. (Not that matters to my experience but this is what I observed) So I when to my room to use the bathroom my son did the same at the bar\public bathroom when we returned our fish was gone ???? Ther was only a couple of bites left but really no service for 30+ minutes and then when we where not there a swoop of service. Great job ! No hot water 8 am a cold shower and off to the airport. I tol a security\ possible service person but had to leave before h was able to get hot water. The queen bed under the a\c unit (unit #2) dripped in the bed all night good thing my son was in the bed alone and moved to the other side.

The food
beware here appearances are deceiving. the photos on booking are completely different from the location. it's a scam and way too expensive for what you get. cold water from the shower. we couldn't check out before 11am which caused us to lose a day of our trip. at 6 o'clock in the morning we were awakened by the noise of the handyman. No breakfast available nor coffee never again and be warned!

Beach front , Allison went over and beyond to make sure I was taken care of . 24 hour security made sure they had parking if needed and were there to greet you day and night . The fresh fish dinners were 5 star and that’s coming from an a fisherman who appreciates a excellent fish dinner . Thanks again Allison !
There’s honestly nothing I didn’t like .
