This was a great find for our family of 5. Our 3 boys loved the authenticity feel of a Japanese home. The breakfast was great, and a special shout out to Kimmy san

Klantvriendelijkheid van de host… maar ook een echte Japanse huisje… prachtig
Erg lawaaierig in de slaapkamers boven… maar de rest maakt het goed..

Great offer to experience traditional Japanese House. There were basically everything we needed inside.
Very close to Station Sengakuji and one stop from Shinagawa, so highly accessible to every area in Tokyo and surrounding areas.
We enjoy cooking local food. The number of tablewares and utensils were a little low.

Fantastic house and the team was so nice and helpful.

The whole house is for us. Location was 2 minutes away from Metro Station. The staff was very warm and attentive especially Hayakawa-san and team which always ask if we need any assistance. Breakfast was taylor made for us when we asked only halal food and they even send us a Muslim Japan Guide.

The house was very spacious and in an excellent location. It was the perfect base for our stay in Tokyo. And all the staff were so helpful, always ready to help with a recommendation or a booking.
A minor issue was the lack of cupboard or hanging space.
You get a some noise from the outside.

So perfect, a whole house in Tokyo. The little touches were lovely, like breakfast arriving each morning and someone from the house team enquiring if there was anything they could help with each day. All very personable.
This place allows you to feel you are in Japan, very different from a faceless hotel chain.
The sleeping room is a good size and can be sectioned off for privacy. It was airy and light. The shutters could be pulled over to make it dark, perfect for sleeping off jet lag. This was great for myself, adult and teenage sons.
The subway is just next door and a well stocked 24 hour shop 3 mins walk up the road.
I loved all the quirks and vintage details - like the fishtail window latches.
It is really not a problem- just something my sons who are both 195cm had to get used to - they had to duck to get under the doorframes ( and sometimes forgot ). Being a ‘normal’ height, I had no issues.

the original features and the Toto’s 😃
stairs were a little steep

Beautiful property which gives a real authentic feel to our stay in Japan. Friendly staff and nice continental breakfast.
There are ear-plugs in there for a reason - the windows/shutters let quite a lot of noise through (not helped by construction going on nearby).

traditional Japanese home experience.
nothing really but if I had to state one I would say the shower holder could have been better.

Breakfast was delicious. The home was well thought out and the bath was amazing. Everything about the place was perfect and comfortable. A lot of neat little touches. Memorable stay. Thank you.

I enjoyed the old Japanese style home, kitchen with everything I needed, kotatsu, spacious tatami rooms upstairs, and the convenient location.
The only small plates I found were tea saucers.

Old style japanese town house. Unique experience of japanese culture. Very friendly staffs.

Perfect space for our family to stay together in a house. Good location with just a few steps from Sengakuji station that links to both Haneda and Narita airports. Staff team (Yusuke, Shin, and the team) is very attentive and helpful. The house was stocked with all essential amenity. Breakfasts are served in both Japanese and Western styles. The house is cleaned daily. Overall experience is fantastic.
The stairs to bedroom are quite steep so may not be suitable for seniors and small kids. This is not a problem for our family tho.

What we liked about the property most was the location, cleanliness of the home and the attentiveness of the staff. The house was in a prime location, as it was only a few minutes walk away from the metro.
If we needed anything the property provided a mobile phone that we could carry with us while we were out exploring the city. A delicious breakfast was provided each morning. The home was cleaned every morning while we were out exploring the city.
Yusuke, the property manager, welcomed us and answered all of our many questions upon arrival; he even made a list of delicious restaurant recommendations. Before we left, he sent us off with tasty Japanese mini cakes and tangerines for the trip home. He was remarkably kind and we were both very appreciative of his time and hospitality throughout our short stay in Tokyo.
We felt like we were in our own home. I would highly recommend staying at Araiya if you plan to visit the Tokyo area!
