Ground Floor
Entrance Hall:
Stepping into the cottage's useful internal porch, you will find a pretty, antique wooden pew - the perfect spot to ease your walking shoes on and off - an umbrella stand, coat hooks and a handy mirror.
Living Room:
The cosy, bright living room overlooks the cottage's front garden, where there's a double seat to sit and enjoy the garden and birdsong. Exposed beams, country cream hues and a wood burner effect electric fire give the room a classic cottage feel. Comfortably seating up to four guests in front of the fire on two sink-in sofas, the living room is elegant and cosy. The fireside seating is complemented with a long, padded footstool, bright tartan curtains and quirky cushions and a TV stand housing a 55" Smart TV with Netflix and Blu-ray DVD player, plus games, puzzles and a selection of DVDs.
Next to the main seating area, heading towards the kitchen, is a large bookcase with a wide selection of novels and guide books with an armchair and reading light - the perfect spot to plan the next day's activities!
Kitchen/Dining Area:
Leading through from the living room to the rear of the cottage is a very well-equipped kitchen-diner, benefitting from sweeping views of the cottage's beautiful rear garden. Decorated in a classic farmhouse style, with sleek grey tiles and a slate tile floor, in here you'll find all you need for a self-catered stay, including an oven and induction hob, dishwasher, microwave, built-in fridge/freezer, washing machine and plenty of bakeware, crockery and glassware for guests' use. An attractive oak dining table and seating offer the perfect place to enjoy a feast, sat alongside the French doors, which open directly on to the patio (with two bistro tables and 4 chairs) and the garden, perfect for enjoying a sunrise or sunset.
First Floor
Bedroom One:
Overlooking the front of the house is the Master Bedroom, a spacious double room perfect for couples, with its own 40" flat-screen TV. The centrepiece of the room is the super-king bed with its sumptuous duvet and pillows, complemented with a large, built-in wardrobe, dressing table and elegant armchair. Decorated in a sunny yellow hue, this bedroom has a calming bright feel with lovely views over the shared garden to the front of the cottage. This elegant bedroom provides more than enough room for a couple to relax and enjoy the space in great comfort.
Bedroom Two:
Sitting across the landing, to the cottage's rear, is Bedroom 2, a twin room ideal for a couple, two friends or younger guests. This room also boasts plenty of space, with two single beds (placed at opposite ends for more privacy), two dressing tables and a built-in wardrobe. Benefitting from beautiful views over the cottage's garden and out towards the church in the centre of the village, guests will love perching by the low-lying windowsill and watching the local wildlife enjoying the brook that runs along the edge of the garden.

Outside
One of a row of three cottages, within an attractive modern barn conversion, Stepping Stones is framed by beautiful shared gardens to its front and side with a small, private patio and access to the large shared garden to its rear, affording it a wonderful feeling of privacy. It's in the back garden where Stepping Stones' magic really comes alive, thanks to the famous Blockley Brook, which meanders directly along the edge of the rear garden. Stepping Stones' garden area is small in size but feels much larger thanks to the sweeping village views it benefits from, separated from its neighbouring houses by discreet fencing. Stepping Stones also boasts a small patio area with two bistro-style tables and four seats, accessible via the kitchen's French doors, making it perfect for al fresco sundowners after a busy day exploring the Cotswolds. The brook is a haven for local birds, ducks and wildlife, younger guests will love wiling away the hours paddling at the brook's shore, whilst older guests can relax on the patio with the gentle sounds of the brook in the background. The property has two designated parking spaces.

We had a lovely short break. The property is very well equipped and had everything we needed. It is a short journey from a number of attractions and a good base to explore from. The beds were lovely and comfortable and we slept well. The wine and milk in the fridge on arrival were much appreciated.

Stepping Stones Cottage is very comfortable and maintained in excellent condition. Our stay was for only two nights, but it is well equipped for much longer visits. The super king size bed was extremely comfortable. Highly recommended.

We have returned here many times as it’s a great cottage in a good location Only minor issue is the creaky stairs as l sometimes wake my wife when I go to bed. I know it’s old but a few screws could fix it.

This is the 2nd time we have stayed at Stepping Stones, it is in a lovely quiet corner of the Cotswolds in a small village with a fantastic cafe for afternoon teas etc. The property is perfect for 2 of us and a small dog to stay, and is clean, comfy and has all the facilities we needed. You are quite central and within easy distance to some of the larger cotswold towns for shopping, definitely visit again.

We love Stepping Stones and have just enjoyed our second short break there this year. Blockley is a beautiful village and the Cotswolds a fabulous area with lots to do and see.
The cottage is lovely and contains everything to make one’s stay feel like a home-from-home. It’s set in a small private, secluded area with just a few others homes. At the rear of the property is a babbling stream with a stunning church in the background. We would definitely recommend it.

This was a lovely break, our intention was to visit as many of the resorts in the Cotswolds as we could. We have not been disappointed. What a lovely area.
The Stepping stones cottage is really clean and comfortable in beautiful surroundings. We couldn't fault it. Just 1 point I would like to make is the cost. At over £700 for 2 people and 2 dogs
Is a little bit steep, but saying that
It's the time of year and it is a really lovely place. Pat & John from Midlands.

A Little Piece of Heaven
A very tranquil beautiful spot for a comfortable, spacious cottage in picturesque Blockley. All mod cons provided and some lovely views. Ample parking, just follow directions to the letter, easy to miss. Beds were comfortable and the bathroom with shower was luxurious. A wonderful weekend at Stepping Stones!

Wedding retreat
We were attending a family wedding near Chipping Camden and wanted an accommodation that’ll be big enough for myself, my wife, two grown up children and our dog. We have used Bolthole retreats previously and we’ve never been disappointed. I’m really glad we chose Stepping Stone cottage as it was perfect for our needs. It’s situated kind of reclusively with a couple of other cottages just before you enter the village of Blockley. I mean this in a positive way, but it didn’t seem to be a holiday accommodation, but a homely retreat with all the creature comforts you might find at your own home at your disposal including fast broadband much to my daughters delight. We’re only sorry we couldn’t stay longer. We would have no hesitation in going back there. If I were to be hyper critical, mobile phone reception is poor. I was told by the village shop that only Vodafone works well in the area. Apart from that, great accommodation, nice village and a fantastic base to explore the Cotswolds

Excellent cottage in lovely location
We stayed in this lovely cottage for 4 nights this week and cannot say how impressed we were with the property. It had everything we needed and more. It is set amongst lovely gardens along with about 8 or so other properties in a very tranquil setting. It is the middle cottage of three and has lovely lawns both to the front and rear of the property, and a little communal area with a picnic table next to the brook which runs at the back of the cottages. It has a very well equipped kitchen including a Nespresso coffee machine with pods supplied. It has one large double bedroom with a 6 foot bed which was very comfortable and a smaller bedroom with 2 x single beds. A bathroom with shower and bath with towels and toiletries also supplied. Overall we had a really great stay and the cottage is ideally located for touring the superb area of the Cotswolds. We would happily love to stay here again the next time we visit the area.

Dream village location
Totally fell in love with the village of Blockiey & Stepping Stones was a really good place to stay in terms of location in the village. Very clean & comfortable. Only downside was garden furniture was not comfortable enough to sit out other than for a quick drink/bite to eat & the cottage was fairly lacking in sunshine due to the high trees around.

Welcome pack only received when information requested. This omitted details for gaining entrance and directions to the property. Response from Howard to front door key problem was excellent and prompt

Perfect cottage for exploring the Cotswolds
Stepping Stones provides a perfect location from which to explore the Cotswolds. It is within easy driving distance to nearby villages, Blenheim, and Stratford-upon-Avon. The cottage itself is clean and comfortable with a beautiful patio area and backyard brook.

Lovely cottage in an idyllic spot
The position and surrounding gardens with babbling brook and Willow trees was beautiful. Inside the cottage was welcoming and very well equipped. It was extremely relaxing and peaceful.
Blockley was a good centre for exploring the area. A walk in Batsford Arboretum was one of the highlights and Stow on the Wold provided an opportunity for retail therapy in a week of visiting gardens and historic houses galore ———-Hidcote, Kiftsgate,Snowshill, Chasleton Sezincote .All the towns and villages were pretty and The Slaughters definitely not to be missed
Add to this glorious Autumn weather. It was perfection.

Idyllic spot
We stayed for a week in Stepping Stones in August. It was in the lovely quiet village of Blockley but very close to Moreton in Marsh if you want more shops. We loved Blockley shop and found we could get most of what we needed there. The cottage was as advertised. It was just what we wanted . We would go back and recommend it to friends. The outside space isn't large and the wrought iron furniture not that comfortable.

Cottage is lovely, but photos are very misleading
We have no complaints about the property itself, being clean, comfortable, well-equipped and with good parking. There are a couple of things that, had we known about them, might have led us to look elsewhere.
1. The photos provided led us to believe that the cottage has an enormous lawn leading down to a pretty brook. In reality that lawn is not part of the property. The garden for the property is tiny and leads to a small ditch protected by nettles. The lawn and pretty brook in the photos can be seen if you stand in the right place and lean a little.
2. The WiFi in the cottage was flaky and disconnected regularly. It gave up entirely for the last two days.
I appreciate that these are not things the owner has complete control over but, as I said, if we'd known about them I think we'd have looked elsewhere. Having said that, we did enjoy our stay and would recommend to anyone who wasn't concerned about the WiFi or lawn and brook.

Wonderful short stay, great location, great cottage
Lovely 2 night stay. Very comfortable cottage, easy to find. The 2 parking spaces were very welcome. The cottage was spotless. The beds were very comfortable both the king size and the singles. There was a welcome bottle of wine and milk in the fridge. The kitchen was very well equipped - we brought some food to cook for the first night - everything we could have wanted and more was there. At night it was so quiet and peaceful - only an owl hooting.
WiFi worked well a must with teenagers! Netflix was popular. The coffee maker was a big hit too.
We visited the surrounding villages doing the tourist bits. Lots to do in the area.
We walked to the local pub for dinner one evening too - highly recommended, great service and good beer too!

Probably the prettiest place on Earth
It was our first visit to Blockley and it took our breath away. The location of the cottage is magical. The cottage itself, although not as old worldly as some of the other buildings in the village, is incredibly comfortable. The beds were perfect, the bed linens wonderful, the furnishings and carpets were all pristine. 2 very convenient parking spaces in front of the cottage. We will definitely return with our dog and children. Nb even easy to use stair gates were provided to keep the dog downstairs.

A very cosy cottage!
We had a really lovely weekend at Stepping Stones. It is immaculately clean and really comfortable (especially the beds). We thought the decor pitch- perfect; just the right mix of modernity yet maintaining a cosy cottage feel. The location is perfect too - and soooo quiet. We would definitely recommend this cottage.
