The house was better than expected. So spacious and the main bedroom had the biggest bed I’ve ever slept in! Kitchen was well equipped (with sharp knives). The kids loved the pool, was great having that so easily available. Loura, the property manager, was easy to contact and replied quickly to any questions or issues we had during our stay. We will definitely be back!

Great location, easy walk to beach and supermarket just around corner. Clean bedrooms good size, 6 of us moving around villa, lots of space, good AC. We used kitchen facilities, oven took a long time to warm up, ended up using outside BBQ, knives to chop food were blunt, but enough plates etc. Dogs barking at night, if you are staying in bedroom nearest pool, you can hear them more, however, they is nothing the villa owner can do about this, as I live on a boat in Falmouth Harbour and there is always dogs barking! The villa is situated gravel road, but no problem getting down the road in car or van. Great accessibility to rest of island. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this apartment, excellent value for money

The neighborhood dogs 8-10 of them bark 24-7 and keep you awake at night Felecia was exceptional help with hire car and an. Questions we had the patio around the pool needs attention as the paint is flaking and the nails are not flush and in some areas the wood is damaged

We stayed at the house for 3 weeks and never saw the property manager but she did respond by text when needed. The house was not cleaned on our arrival which was disappointing. The outdoor surroundings were beautiful and we enjoyed the pool.

The house is in the perfect location for the beach (twenty minute walk) and the store/restaurant's/bar (ten minute walk) We stayed for four weeks, couldn't do much due o covid restrictions but we had all we needed, sunshine beach and pool. The house does need a little updating with a coat of paint here and there but don't let that stop you from staying there. We would use the house as a base again. One tip, use Glens Taxi Service for the ride from and to the airport, first class service. We used Keanu several times, he was always on time and very helpful. His number is 268 723 4072.

We were slightly apprehensive as we usually stay in a hotel. But what a find! Fabulous location (okay the road is a nightmare), a short walk to great restaurants and bars, along with the most beautiful beach. The villa has everything you need and more!

Renting a vacation home can be rather intimidating but for whatever reason my husband and I had the best if luck with this rental. This little home was everything we needed. Peaceful, clean, close to the market and quiet location. Loura~you are amazing!! Thank you for arranging our pick up and drop off at the airport as well as the drop off and pick up of our rental car and all your knowledge of your beautiful island. I can't wait to come back in March. Thank you again!

Overall the my stay was great. Just a few recommendations. If persons are renting for 5 or more days, a cleaning service should be provided. Maybe a change of beds and mopping. Next guest should be informed about garbage pickup because the neighborhood cats ripe up the bags outside leaving guest to clean it up. Also the road I. Front of the property should be paved. There are numerous pot holes right at the gate leaving massive puddles of water when it rains daily. The bath tubs should be changed due to the appearance of rust. Finally, the neighbor stated that he was a plumber and could observe water coming from the ground on the property. The toilets would run for hours after flushing.

Wonderful property

We stayed at this property for one week at the end of May. The Villa was very clean and spacious. We were greeted when we arrived and had contact information for any issues/questions. The owner is very prompt in responding. It is walking distance to a grocery store and a short drive to everywhere we needed to go. The Villa was very comfortable, particularly with AC and wifi, and the pool was lovely. I would definitely stay here again!

We have just returned from a fabulous 12 night stay on the wonderful island of Antigua. We wanted to explore the island and staying at Banana House on the edge of Jolly Harbour was a perfect location. Is is a spacious three bed bungalow with a decent sized garden with lots of fruit trees, decking and a small pool. It is fair to say that the house is a little tired and could do with some maintenance works in particular to the decor in the master en suite, however it was perfect for us due to its size, amenities and location. Close proximity to loads of stunning beaches, and a short drive to St Johns and English Harbour. We had a great time and enjoyed our stay.

Wonderful piece of paradise!!

Three couples stayed at this villa for 3 weeks. The villa was perfect. It was clean, spacious with comfortable beds. We had everything we needed to relax and enjoy Jolly Harbour. We enjoyed having our own private swimming pool and we had many meals on the spacious deck. The only thing missing was a good frying pan but believe me we made do and that did not deter our vacation at all. It was about a 10 min walk to the grocery store which had everything we needed. An additional 10 min walk to the beautiful beach. There were many restaurants within walking distance that we also enjoyed. I highly recommend this villa to anyone wanting to spend time in Jolly Harbour.

Great location, very comfortable

The place was spotless when we pulled in, in fact the young lady was finishing up the chores and gave us a quick tour and showed us athe basics e.g. vault operation, TV etc. The house itself is well situated about 5 minutes walk from the supermarket and 10 from the beach. The house itself is in need of some refreshing in spots but nothing to impact our stay. We were 5 adults everything worked well no issues with water or toilets. There is some construction across the street but we did not find it all that disruptive the occacional hammering and heavy equipment operating for short periods of time when we were at the house. The minor issues we did run into were dealt with almost immediately by the property manager to our satisfaction. All in all i do not hesitate to recommend this place, my family fully enjoyed our stay there.

A lovely villa brightly painted in a perfect location and easy access to jolly harbour . The pool was perfectly clean and was checked by Carribean water every Wednesday . There was some noise from dogs and building ( but they were only pouring concrete). Nothing excessive . Not sure why a previous reviewer had such major issues and I’m pleased I took no notice of his review when booking this at short notice . Antigua is a beautiful island with lots to see and lots of beaches and activities . Why spend days in the villa when you can see the joys of the island . The only way the building work or dogs could annoy would be if you spent all day in the villa. I have put this comment as they were extremely harsh and suggest if people want to lounge around a pool all day they book a fully inclusive holiday . Antigua is a third world country and has the charms of the Carribean . If it doesn’t get done today it may the day after or even the day after that . That is the Carribean ! Thoroughly enjoyed the holiday meeting the locals and discovering Antigua . Would highly recommend a visit .

The house itself was good, lot's of space, TV and wifi worked fine. The owner and his people on the Island was helpfull. The house has a construction-site close by, it was very noisy, from early morning-7 days a week. Very unexpected. It's also lot's of dogs in the area, with owners not very interested in making them stop barking. Charming for a while, not so much after a week. Jolly Harbour was great, we rented a car an drove all over the island. Darkwood Beach, 5 min drive, is a fantastic beach, less tourists than Jolly Beach.

The villa is substandard in every way. The shutters are falling down, the fence is mainly rotten and the water supply is intermittent. You may need to flush the toilets with water from the swimming pool. There is noise from a construction site at the front of the property and almost continuous barking from dogs loose in adjacent gardens. The access road is rutted, unmade and resembles a farm track. It is dangerous after rain. It is hardly lit at night. If you need any cooking utensils (non-stick saucepans, sharp knives, serving spoons or dishes etc.) take them with you. Be prepared to strip your bed and wash your own bed linen if the rusty creaking washing machine works - given it needs water to do this. Jolly Harbour is a good place for a holiday with a superb swimming pool, excellent restaurants, car hire availability and a well-stocked supermarket. Enjoy it but not from this villa. This review carries one star only because it cannot be submitted without a star. It does not deserve that star.

Exceeded my Expectations

My boyfriend and I decided to try something different for vacation this year instead of an all inclusive we wanted to try a vacation rental. Since neither of us have ever done this we were both nervous wondering if the house was going to be what we expected. We were so happy when we arrived to see that it was far better than we hoped. So much space, and privacy. The house was very very clean, everyone was very helpful, anything we needed we could call Bart and he would arrange. We we located within walking distance of everything, we ate every night in the harbor, the food was amazing and the prices were very reasonable, and every where had happy hour. I would recommend this rental time and time again. I tried to rent it again for xmas but it was booked up, I will be renting again and taking my children. I cannot wait to come back! Everything was perfect.

We had a lovely stay at Banana House. The photos are very accurate. This villa is kept very, very clean and is well equipped. The rooms are spacious, beds comfortable, towels plush and they left us a nice little supply of breakfast items in the frig. The pool is refreshing. You can walk down to a large grocery store in 5 mins. Beach is easy 10 min walk. There are several nice restaurants within walking distance as well as car rental, bank and boat charters. Bart the manager is very professional and helpful. I'd recommend this villa and Jolly Harbor is a good area for tourists. There are people hawking goods or services on the beach but all, except one, were polite and graciously took no for and answer and moved along.

This was our first trip to Antigua and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Bart the house manager was incredibly helpful and friendly. We stayed in the Villa for three weeks and found it to be a fantastic base to explore the island. I would recommend hiring a car though as it gives you a lot more freedom. The villa provided all that we wanted except for a dishwasher which is essential for a large party. On the whole great value for money and would thoroughly recommend this villa

The house is perfect ,tranquil but closer enough to the beach,restaurants & bars. However sadly since Wednesday the 4th the filtration system in the pool has not worked and has become totally unusable as is full of dead leaves flies and other insect types . Also the decking on the far side of the pool has become very unstable and I myself would not walk on it until repaired. We have loved our stay and if we were sure the faults were corrected then yes we would stay again although sadly these last impressions could be the memories that stay with us the strongest, if not for these I would not hesitate to give five stars.

Had a great week with family and a pal from Canada. The Banana House is exceptionally well equipped and well looked after by Bart, the Manager. Lovely little pool and smart gardens. I was surprised at how spacious it was and everything there that you need. A nice stroll away from the best beach on the island and close to the Epicurean supermarket. Castaways on the beach is a fun place for a relaxed drink or ten! Don't buy the Queen Conch shells from the itinerant trader! You need an import licence for these and it will be taken from you in UK. The house has several, presumably left by people who found this out after purchasing them! I think we'll be back.

Excellent value for money

We often stay in properties in the UK. This one easily slept 6 with a bathroom for each room with a pool and well maintained garden . Compared to UK prices great value for the money and guaranteed sunshine. Walking distance to the beach and restuarants but would recommend hiring a car to see much more of this beautiful island. The property manager Bart was excellent and nothing was too much trouble though you must remember you are in the Carribean ! Friendly locals and a fantastic place for a holiday!

Just returned from 10 days staying at Banana House. Lots of space for just the two of us and we were very comfortable. Bart and his team were there to meet us and to say goodbye. Very convenient for everything. Fast Wi Fi was an added bonus as was small pool. We hired a car from local company plenty of space for secure parking. Altogether a good experience for our first self catering holiday in the Caribbean.
