About this house rental
Stay with us if you want:
- A typical French villa
- VERY EASY walking distance to St Paul (3 minutes walk maximum - la Colombe d'Or is just there)
- Pool & ample outdoor space
- Parking & easy access (avoiding the headache of driving into the stone village itself)
There are only a handful of St Paul properties that fit this special niche!
La Lauriere is located just 2 minutes walk from Saint Paul de Vence's center village, known for its arts, views, the Fondation Maeght, and la Colombe d'Or. This typical villa has all the charm one should find to enjoy life in the Cote d'Azur.
Secured parking is available for two cars within the property, which is secured by electronic gates. The private street itself also has an electronic gate which is accessed by a code.
The "Main Floor" has a large open-plan kitchen that opens towards the terrace, pool, and garden. You can harvest rosemary by reaching out the kitchen window. The upper garden has views to the Mediterranean and is reached by stone steps escorted by lavender on one side and orange and lemon trees on the other. We have a gardener two days per week all year round, and with some luck you will find the house and poolside awash in periwinkle blossoms or perhaps our small vegetable garden will offer some courgette flowers or ripe tomatoes during your stay.
On the opposite side of the Main Floor, there is a large living room that opens onto another terrace - which is covered in grape vines and sometimes laden with grapes themselves - yard, and rose garden. There are also three balconies on the Main Floor.
In total, La Lauriere has 4 dedicated bedrooms. On the "1st Floor" (up one flight of stairs), all three bedrooms have huge king-sized beds and en suite bathrooms, as well as balconies. The "Pool View" bedroom has a view to the Alps and over the near valley as well as an extra twin day bed where a child could sleep. Its bathroom has a combination bath/shower.
The "St Paul View" bedroom has a nice view of the perched village of St Paul and overlooks the terrace and rose garden. You can almost reach an olive tree from one of the two balconies. This bedroom has a separate bath and shower.
The "Valley View" bedroom has a terrace with a view through the trees across the valley. Its bathroom has a shower.
The "Ground Floor" (one flight down from the main floor) has one bedroom with 2 twin beds.
There is an additional large downstairs den. This "Bonus Room" also has a large TV and a dedicated built-in work space, perfect to separate oneself from the rest of the house if some work needs to be done. The twin bedroom and bonus room share a bathroom with an extra wide (for France!) tub/shower and brand new appliances. The Ground Floor's windows open to a pathway and staircase that offers direct access to the pool and gardens.
The pool will give you and your family a sense of fun and refreshment after a day sightseeing or at the beach. Don't forget to light it up at night for a teal glow as you use the BBQ grill and eat al fresco on the large mosaic table.
AC is available in all bedrooms and has been newly installed.
Linen and towels are provided and full cleaning is done after your departure. Cleaning is usually required one time per week during your stay.
Please contact us with any questions.
PS If you are coming during high or shoulder season, we suggest booking a lunch or dinner - or both - at the Colombe d'Or at your earliest convenience! Sip & dine with in the presence of Calder, Dufy, Matisse, Picasso, Cesar, and more --- and then walk less than five minutes back to your home for the night.

Our 2 families ( 4 adults and 4 older teenagers ) have stayed in Saint Paul for a week annually since 2012. We have stayed in several properties but this is without doubt the best. Larger than the description suggests and in an exceptional location. Very personable and responsive owner and manager. Very much a family feel. Reluctant to be too effusive because we really would like this property to be our annual escape to Saint Paul and could do without competition! đ

My family and I couldnât be happier with Scottâs beautiful villa. It is a hop and a skip from town, has a beautiful pool area, a shaded garden and everything a cook could want in the kitchen. Claus was available at all times if we needed anything at the house, including restaurant or beach suggestions, and we felt comfortable and well taken care of at all times. This is a gem of a property.

Our family of four loved every part of this house and the location during a week stay in August. The house is clean and beautifully decorated inside like a french country house. We spent hours outside in the gorgeous grounds around the pool, and also enjoyed as well as a sitting area on the opposite side for coffee or wine under a canopy of vines. The location is a 5 minute walk to beautiful St. Paul, and about 30-45 minutes from Nice, beaches at Cap D'Antibes, Cannes or Monaco. Highly recommend this house!

This property offers all the attributes that contribute to a great holiday. Its location, a short walk into the town is ideal - with all the eateries walkable too. The house is located 20 mins from Nice airport and other places of interest are easily accessible too. The house is a wonderful typical French villa with great accommodation. A real gem!

Perfect Escape from hectic times
We planned a holiday hoping that pandemic restrictions would allow us to travel, and could not have been happier upon arrival at La Lauriere! The house was well suited for our party of 7, with 2 separate sleeping levels. There was nothing we didnât have at our disposal, and the proximity to the village was perfect! Only wish we could have stayed longer!

Stunning villa with great views, pool and garden oasis.
Walking distance to the charming village of St Paul de Vence, but you might want to just stay in and pretend you are a local because this place is truly a historic and gorgeous gem ! Beautiful windows and architecture , balconies and views all around it.
Lime and lemon trees, vegetable garden, lavender in abundance in the garden. Relaxing pool. Occasional morning traffic is a bit noisy on the lower side, but not terrible. Air conditioning in case of warmer nights. Well appointed kitchen and amenities. 5 stars .

Summer in the village. July 20
Lovely mature property with open plan kitchen and lounge. Well equipped kitchen ideal for some Mediterranean cooking and family meals which opens to outdoor table by the pool. Three well sized double rooms upstairs with a/c bonus. Super location a genuine 5 min stroll to downtown St Paul with upmarket restaurants, bars and the local cafe which covers breakfast, coffee, aperitif and boule. 10 mins to supermarket in Venice, 30 mins to choice of beach resorts or mountains. We had a super holiday and loved our stay.

Beautiful Home in a lovely area
My family and I had a great tie staying in St Paul de Vence. The area was lovely and quiet - just what we needed. The host was great and very accomodating given the current Covid-19 climate.
Strong recommendation for a family.
Thank you

Beautiful house walking distance from St Paul de Vence
We had a wonderful time at "La LauriĂšre" this month. We stayed for two weeks with our 4 children aged 2, 4, 9 and 11. The house was bigger and brighter than the pictures would suggest. The living/dining areas are surrounded by large bay windows and it feels like being outside at all times. The kitchen is unusually well equipped, as the owners seem to be into cooking themselves, and there are also excellent cookbooks. You can pick delicious tomatoes and wonderfully fragrant lemons from the small garden area. The living area is very comfortable as well and very large/open. The pool area is very pleasant and sunny, the pool is a good size and the kids had a great time there. All the bedrooms were large, bright and airy with effective A/C which we needed on some hot, humid nights. Mattresses are on the firm side but we like that and they were very comfortable for us. The location is excellent, 2 minutes from the beautiful village of St Paul de Vence. You will need your car for everything else though. The parking space is quite narrow and we had trouble with the large mini-van we need for our 4 kids, but any standard-size European car will definitely be fine. There is a small parking space you can use up the hill should you have any trouble. Teresa, the property manager, was extremely pro-active, friendly and responsive, she is really super nice. The cleaning lady comes twice a week which was a treat. Overall it was a higher-end rental than we expected and we had a wonderful time. We highly recommend this property.

A beautiful home in a beautiful place
Very much a home with all the detritus of family life. We found it extremely comfortable. It is better than the pictures would have you believe. The kitchen, in particular, is set up very well for cooking. The property is well maintained by their property management team. Teresa and her team took extremely good care of us, yet their efforts were completely transparent to us. The house is very well located, walking distance to St. Paul de Vance and a 15 minute drive to the A80. One of the better homes we have rented - easy to recommend.

A Charming French Sojourn
We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay in this charming family home within a short walk of one of the prettiest tourist destinations in France.
From the time of booking to our departure we were wonderfully looked after, and the photos and description of the home itself are very accurate.
We are no strangers to this area and it is superbly located near every convenience and other visual delights. Itâs truly a home away from home and we could not recommend it highly enough.

Wonderful house in great Location
Stayed here as two families in August. Short drive from airport, easily found house in gated road. Accommodation is excellent with large en suite bedrooms, beautiful gardens and a kitchen that reflects an owner with a passion in cooking. This house has every facility available and a great location. The picturesque village is a short downhill walk. Restaurants etc. 5 minutes away. Town of Vence approximately 2 to 3 miles with large supermarkets, restaurants etc. Trips to the rest of the South Coast are within easy reach and there appeared to be a regular bus service to Nice, although we didn't use it. This is a house to be enjoyed and relax in. Every great review has to have some caveats and these are minor. Pool area is very enjoyable and usable but does reflect the house's age. A pool alarm is fitted but, for parents of young children, be aware that the kitchen opens on to the pool patio. We had two medium size cars. The secure, gated drive will accommodate these but the gates are narrow and may be a very tight squeeze for larger people carriers or SUVs. Contact person, Teresa, helpful and accommodating. Overall a 5 star experience and a house to recommend.

Lovely experience
What a wonderful experience to stay at this lovely appointed house. It checked all the boxes for us : an attentive host, a relaxing house, walkable to the beautiful Saint Paul de Vence and all it has to offer, and according to the 6 children the house accommodated, a lovely pool. We all decided that we will have to return one day as we left completely relaxed and rejuvenated!

Awonderful location and a beautiful home from home
We went to the villa with a family of 3 children and 3 grandparents, 8 people in total. the villa was perfect for us, in a gated community which helped everyone feel secure, a very short walk to St Paul-de-Vence village. The villa had a lovely pool and BBQ, a beautiful garden with grapes and tomatoes ready to pick and a large variety of fresh herbs for our cooking. We will definitely return.

Perfect - Modern conveniences in elegant setting
As well seasoned travelers we are used to choosing places that more or less meet our needs, but even we were blown away by this home from home. No fights as to who got the best room as all bathrooms and bedrooms were perfect. The kitchen was a chef's dream. We ended up eating in more than we thought as we were able to produce 5 star dining experiences because of well equipped kitchen and delightful delph, place settings, table cloths , napkins etc. The fresh limes, lemons and tomatoes we picked in the garden enhanced every meal. Ivan was french charm personified and no request too silly or small for him to take care of. His welcoming tone from the moment of booking and throughout our stay enhanced our wonderful experience The short walk to Paul de Vence allowed us to stroll at non-tourist hours which resulted in some great photos and seeing the town as it was meant to...
Will be back
Merci beaucoup!

Lovely villa, excellent location- only 5 minute walk into St Paul.
My only negative comment would be that I think the outside furniture could be improved. Only four sunbeds for a house that sleeps 8 people, and the outside dining table is not in good condition. However, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Super
Desuden gode muligheder for udflugter.

Amazing house and location
This house was everything that you would want it to be! Spacious bedrooms, great common areas for playing games or entertaining, and quite sitting areas where you can look out at the mountains or the mideavel town of St. Paul. The pool provides a wonderful end-of-day activity for kids and adults alike. Our kids are seven and nine and they had a ball!

Love this house!
We've rented this house twice. Once in the summer and once in the winter. It was great both times.
In the summer, there is a lovely pool with a view of both the walled town of St. Paul and the mntns.
In the winter, there is a fabulous fireplace to enjoy a night at home.
The kitchen and bedrooms are perfect for a family.
The location is spectacular. It's a delightful, short walk into St. Paul. Plus It is a perfect spot for exploring Nice and the beaches et al.

St. Paul star
This home is exquisite. Views are wonderful, the landscaping exquisite and the furnishings all top notch. The proximity to Vence and Nice is easy and old St. Paul is a very short walk. The house is newer construction, but with all the charm of classic Provencal. The rooms are large and the beds very comfortable; the kitchen well appointed with great views of the area (and the pool!).
