About this house rental

Delightful townhouse with 3 bedrooms, 3 ensuites, plus sofa bed in the smaller lounge. Although an old house, it has been wonderfully modernised and has a well equipped kitchen, good dining area, a large central lounge and an amazing, sunny, rooftop terrace with astounding views - ideal for leisurely breakfasts, sunbathing or chilling out with wine and BBQ as the sun goes down over Mt Canigou. Located right in the historic centre all the town's facilities are just a few minutes stroll away! Tall leafy plane trees provide welcome shade in the hotter months for the open air cafes, bars and restaurants - so inviting on a warm summer day - and the museums, art galleries, bakeries and patisseries. No wonder so many famous artists, Picasso included, came and stayed and painted in the village and its surrounds. The streets come alive for a number of festivals and events, ranging from the cherry festival in May, the running of the bulls in July and local music and Sardanes or communal dances.

We loved staying in this house for eight days in late July. The house is located in the heart of the town, on the boulevard with the Saturday marché and the plane trees that make Céret so attractive (among other things.) It is a classic, large maison de village whose renovation did not take away any of the charm such houses have. It is perfect for a larger group with three separate bedroom/bathroom suites. The house is very well equipped and feels much more like a comfortable family home than a sparse vacation rental. The rooftop terrasse is awesome, we used it everyday; the large umbrella makes it a pleasant place to be even on the sunniest/hottest days. We disagree with some of other the comments regarding the living room and bedroom on the ground floor: given the traditional layout of a maison de village, these rooms are very, very nice. Overall, we highly recommend this house, especially if you want to experience Céret in a house that is representative of the town's charm but that also includes all the modern amenities one wishes to have.

The location is great, though there’s a lot of (noisy) car traffic. The living room is very dark, has peeling paint and uncomfortable furniture. The two upstairs bedrooms are clean and bright; the downstairs one is like a dungeon. The rooftop terrace is the best part of the rental; you need to be comfortable with steep stairs to get to it. Communication with the owner was excellent.

We spent 4 weeks in this property. Perfect location in the center of lovely Ceret. Lots of hot water, nice bathrooms, well supplied kitchen, spacious bedrooms (2 of them). Responsive owners and local property manager. Considerations for other renters: lots of steep stairs, 3rd (small, dark) bedroom is 2 floors below other bedrooms. Did I already say perfect location?

We really enjoyed staying at number 7 - good range of equipment and comfortable furniture, great views and good to be close to all amenities in town. We would suggest 2 things however - that the bed in the main bedroom is looked at - as it is very noisy and that a non slip mat is put in the shower.

Everything about it works well! Efficiently laid-out kitchen overlooking the lively street. Spacious bedrooms and en-suite baths. The location is ideal, the house is equipped with all you need for a short or long stay. We loved pretending we lived there.

A lovely townhouse in the heart of a lovely town, it had everything we needed for an amazing two weeks. Everything was clean and tidy, the kitchen was well equipped and there was plenty of room for us and our 4 children. There was plenty of local information in the house for things to see and do, we could have easily spent another couple of weeks exploring this interesting and historical part of France. With the market outside the front door on Saturdays, bakeries/shops/bars/restaurants within a minute's walk it was a perfect base for day trips to the beach, castles and even Barcelona. Loved it.

The location was on the most beautiful and convenient street in Ceret. The apartment was very comfortable and renovated beautifully. Extra touches like an Apple TV and air conditioning were really appreciated. The owner was very responsive to all our queries. We would definitely stay here again when visiting Ceret.
