Stay was great , it is an active dairy farm, which was great for us but should be taking into account. Mary and Gerry were great. We are in Ireland for 3 weeks and finding that is not long enough to fully enjoy each area

Old fashioned farmhouse in beautiful location, convenient for Comeraghs, Mahon Falls, Mount Congreve, Coomshingaun and other underrated sights. Mary and Ger were kind and generous hosts.

Location is perfect to visit the area. Ger and Mary are reliable and they do everything to make you enjoy your stay. They offer fresh milk from their cows if you like it.
We would really love to come back!

This unspoilt farmhouse is ideally situated for the greenway multi purpose track to Waterford and Dungarvan. The property has a hot tub which we used and loved whilst there. The double bed was very comfortable. Mary and Gerry were lovely hosts and made us very welcome. They were very helpful. We would highly recommend. Thank you

I stayed at the property with my three 12 year old triplets. We loved the property. The kids took full advantage of the hot tub almost every night. We all took advantage of lighting a nice fire nightly. The property was clean, plenty of towels were supplied. The front garden was cute, I sat and read my book listening to cows moooo. (lol) it did not bother me or the kids it is definitely an active farm. I would recommend the property and I would stay again.

Both Mary and Ger were welcoming and so accommodating to all our questions. We loved being able to see the dairy farm in action. A lovely stay and accessible to near attractions.

This was the highlight of our two week journey through the Country. Ger was quite accommodating in showing us around the farm, telling tales of the community and its history. The house was well appointed, comfortable and accessible. Hot tub was icing on the cake. Yes this is a working dairy farm with the associated sights and sounds but I believe that was a great deal of the charm. Would strongly recommend and will likely return

We had such a great time at Nell's and appreciate all of the warmth from Ger, Mary and Sinead, and the suggestions for touring and running were terrific. Wonderful spot and would happily stay here again.

Rustic Farm House not what's advertised
The house has all the character and style you would expect from a rustic farmhouse with some modern features such as a hot tub, central heating and WiFi. While they mention these upgrades, it was not what one would expect. The heater is on a timer and if you are older and have thin blood this is not for you. The shower mentioned for mobility challenged has nothing to lean on, it's an open area with a shower head. It's drafty - can't imagine using in the dead of winter. The back patio was okay, but do understand you can see one of the barns and yes you will smell the aroma of a dairy farm. Lots of flies as well.
The hot tub was not working - it would have been nice to enjoy.
It is a working farm and if you need something you need to call the owners. Which might be fine, if it was occasionally, but when we realized this would be a daily thing we decided this was too rustic and too unpleasant to stay.
The property was remodeled for use in 2009, but you can tell over time things have changed. Not sure but I think some of the cobwebs had been there a while. If you like fires and don't have allergies then this will be fun. You want off grid you will enjoy, but if you think you will have some of the basic necessities that you get in a home versus a hotel room not so much.
There needs to be a book of instructions on how to operate all the appliances, the heater, the showers and even the toilets. At every VRBO property we have ever stayed at there is always a book with instructions, phone numbers to the owners, plus other area numbers of importance.
Nothing to wash the dishes with, again dish towels are not the best option. No tissue – to blow your nose use toilet paper.
This location was such a disappointment we left after spending two nights there.

Beautiful Country Property, very happy holiday!
We had a fantastic stay. The property is a bit off the beaten track, but it is fabulous. We had some fresh milk from the cows in the yard & enjoyed the hot tub every evening. Mary is very accommodating & I’m sure if we had any problems (we didn’t), she would’ve sorted it out ASAP. Would definitely recommend.

Perfect retreat from the city
Coming back from a brisk walk to an open fire and a hot tub is the greatest feeling. Stare up at the midnight sky, free from any light pollution, and you can see the milky way. This was our second time at this exact property - thanks for having us again!

Irish Farm House
Located in a rural area about 20 minutes from Waterford this working dairy offers unique opportunity to experience farm life. We were able to go into the barn and milking parlor to get an up close view of dairy operations. The accommodations are comfortable and Mary and Gerry are wonderful hosts.
Our group had a wonderful time and recommend it for someone seeking a county experience. If you are put off by the sounds and smells of a farm this is not a place for you.

Wonderful!
Was a great experience! The home was clean, very comfortable and perfect location! Mary and Ger went out of their way to assist us and actually took us to a neighbor’s sheep farm as it was my interest! We can’t say enough about what great hosts and place to have made our home for 5 days. Highly recommend and we would stay here again

I would not recommend this house.
We arrived to the house late in the evening. The road down to the house is a very narrow, muddy carriage lane. Parking is in the muddy 10 ft area between the house and the barn where the cows are milked (another words, compacted cow manure). The owners live at the beginning of the lane in a newer home away from the actual dairy farm. I am sure that it was built away from the farm because of the smells. The property itself, described as a luxury home is an old, old, old house that someone has gone in and made upgrades. The problem is that the upgrades were poorly done. The house is not dried in well, so even the toilet paper had moisture in it. There was a huge hole under the toilet showing all of the plumbing going down into the floor. The shower in the twin room has no curtain or area to prevent the shower from getting the rest of the bathroom wet. The spray reached to the commode, no matter how careful you were, so you had to dry the commode off in order to use it. The wifi never worked, so the owner just took it out of the house. We had one role of toilet paper per bathroom among 4 people for 3 nights stay and had to call the owner to request more. We requested clean towels after the 2nd night of use and were required to turn over the towels we had in order to obtain fresh towels, which is not a big deal, but made me feel like the owner was afraid we would steal her towels! The oven would not work, so we asked the owner to help us, but she had no idea how to turn it on either. It was old and outdated. We managed to get it on by playing with the timer button, but we just got lucky. Finally, the house is not more than 10 feet away from the dilapidated barn where the cows are being milked. The house, the beds, everything smelled like cow manure and everything felt damp. I went back and reviewed the photos and they are very deceiving. There was scaffolding on the back patio and yes, the coffee pot was old, not clean and damaged, although it did function. I would highly recommend that you not stay here and find somewhere else to stay. The owners should not be charging people money for staying in this house. As for the review from the folks who turned around and cancelled their vacation after seeing the house, I would have done the same thing, but we were stuck with it in that I could not drive all the way back to Texas.

Mouse droppings and dead fly!
House was very hard to find and when we arrived we discovered it had mouse droppings on the settees and over the floor and in the drawers. Dead fly in the fridge too and cobweb full of dead flies on living room door. We refused to stay in the property and had to travel home which meant we weren't home until 4am exhausted and the break we were all looking forward to was ruined. I would not recommend this holiday let to anyone and advise people to stay away from it. It was a complete disaster. The owner didn't even contact us the next day to see if we'd got home alright or to apologise.

Hospitality, history and nature combined!
Nell's House is a great base for excursions all over the south of Ireland. We had two fabulous weeks of historical excursions, hiking tours in the mountains, seaside adventures and lots of other activities and always loved to come home to the lovingly restored and well appointed farmhouse, relaxed in the hot tub and enjoyed the fresh milk. It was interesting for the children to be able to see the cows and the milking process. Thank you Gerald and Mary for your hospitality and for sharing this gem with us!

Enjoyed our stay - the cottage was wonderful. The beds were comfortable. It was a nice space to go to at the end of the day. Also enjoyed the hot tub

Irish Countryside
Pros: Interior of the house was roomy and clean. This property was centrally located to Kilkenny, Waterford and Cashel. Gerald was very friendly upon our arrival and showed us what we needed to know to use the utilities. Quiet, secluded farm atmosphere. Also, Mary provided us with needed power adapters:) and was very responsive to any and all inquiries before and during our stay.
Cons: Not well marked--there is a place at the end of the drive where I believe a hanging sign used to be--it would be extremely helpful to replace this. Also the house is located a short distance from two numbered roads. If these two were in place we could have found the house on our own rather than losing over an hour trying to find it. One of the reasons we chose this property over several others we were considering was the hot tub. I know things happen, but it broke the day before we arrived and it was quite disappointing. We had hoped to relax a bit more at the house, but instead made plans away from the property.

Lovely time on the farm
We had a great time at the farmhouse. We were well taken care of and given great advice as to what and where to go. The house was comfortable and the hot tub is a nice bonus. We enjoy staying off the beaten path and meeting local people wherever we go. If that is what you enjoy, you will love this place. There are wonderful hiking trails all around the beautiful green mountains with all the lovely sheep. Can't wait to go back someday!

we had a very nice but brief stay. Mary and Gerald were great!
The farm house was clean and cozy. Beds were comfy and we loved the hot tub. Mary was very generous to give us a partial refund when we had to leave early. Thanks Mary, for your unexpected kindness! The farm is genuine and feels like experience we wanted of living in a working Dairy farm. Loved it!

Working Farm
We had a lovely stay at Nell's Farm House in Rathgormack. The owner could not do enough to meet our needs. He was most helpful although really busy on the farm. It brought back childhood memories of farmyard noises. Would like to stay again in the future.

Exactly what we were looking for!
Loved the away from everything location. It was a little chilly during our stay but that made sitting by the fireplace when better. Mary was so sweet. Since we were celebrating our anniversary, she left a little surprise for us in the kitchen. I would definitely stay here again.

Cozy country home and working dairy farm.
This home was a little hard to find but with our navigation device we found it. The house is what you would expect of a real Irish country home. We were comfortable and had plenty of room and comfortable beds. The kitchen needed some upgrading. The fresh milk was a wonderful treat. I had hoped to meet Mary as I had corresponded with her through VRBO but we didn't have the pleasure. Her husband Gerald greeted us during milking time and showed us around. We call our stay at Nell's Farmhouse " real Irish country living."

Very rural setting but comfortable. Mary and Nell were very nice and helpful regarding lost luggage
Extremely hard to find even with GPS. Don't know if I would have found it if it wasn't for a nice lady who knew them and showed us where it was located. Comfortable furnishings. Sorry we didn't get a chance to sit on the back patio and use the hot tub. Could use a few more amenities and instructions on using the shower, etc. Small road leading to the farmhouse was very narrow with ruts. My car hit bottom several times.
