People were very friendly and helpful, good food, the spa was amazing with a great Ayurvedic doctor. The best place I've ever stayed so far.

The locations was excellent with a nice beach without a crowd and with a view of Le Mourne. We thought that the facilities were great as well with the exception of the creaky wooden floors. The patio and plunge pools were beautiful. The restaurant was adequate with some variety acknowledging that we are both picky eaters. The staff was consistently nice and competent.
The only significant complaints we have are that the wooden floors were creaky in the room to the point we were concerned we would wake up our significant other if we got up in the night. Bug control was an issue to the point that we would not spend time on our beautiful patio without a significant dousing of repellant. They could have done better with milk alternatives, as none were available, which really limited my wife’s eating choices.

Great and friendly staff and service. Particularly Olivier, Wessley and the beach team.

The staff is wonderful - very attentive, kind, responsive to any needs. Spa is also great. The food was tasty and reasonably priced; the surroundings are nice and well kept.
the property shows signs of ageing - it needs renovation. The breakfast selection is poor considering that it is a five star resort.

We have just had the most wonderful holiday at Maradiva Villa! Our villa was outstanding, spacious, private and with the most wonderful outdoor space with private plunge pool etc. We have stayed in some of the best hotels on our travels but this was exceptional in terms of space, ambience, and amazing value for money! The staff went out of their way to make our stay special and we would like to say a really big thank you for the effort they made to do so! We had some fantastic meals and the chef went above and beyond to prepare us the most delicious meals. The spa was also excellent (award winning), brilliantly run by the wonderful Dr Nair, who is also an Ayurvedic Doctor with extensive international experience at leading spas/ retreats, and we felt very lucky to have this world class experience on our holiday. We would highly recommend Maradiva Villas and we were very sad to leave and will return.

Great facilities. Super private. 5 star luxury.
Great restaurant options - Tapinyaki was our favourite!
Thank you to Leonardo in the bar, Rishi in the coast2coast restaurant, Kishen and Kenny, Joanne in room serivce and all the other friendly staff.

Firstly, we loved and enjoyed our stay. the staff were extremely kind and welcoming as well as helpful if any issues arose. Also, the facilities such as the gym, bikes to rent, spa, beach, tennis court were all perfect and not crowded. We also enjoyed the breakfasts as there was an amazing selection as well as Mauritian options which introduced us to local culture.
One night, there was a buffet for dinner and we were not informed about the price. at the end of dinner, my 10 year old son was charged the equivalent of 60 euros for dinner. Furthermore, there were two instances during our stay when the food was either poorly cooked or cold. the staff were quick to fix it when we mentioned it.

The staff were amazing! The service impeccable. The bedrooms are beautiful and the rooms are very clean. We also loved our treatments at the spa. After being disappointed with the restricted choice of foods on display at the restaurant we ordered breakfast to the villa. what followed was a feast. We ate breakfast at the villa the next few days.
Beautiful bedroom but the new cushions etc shown on the photos on Booking.com never made it onto the patios and pool areas,we had a snoop around and this was the case for all the villas we passed walking different routes to the pool and restaurants. It was disappointing that these were placed on photos for advertisement purposes only. We have stayed here before and looked forward to the external areas being upgraded since our first visit about 10 years ago which they were not. The view from the villa was extremely sad. All the grass was dead and the area outside the room and pool was barren. It looked more like a desert than like a tropical island. Four other luxury resorts in the same price class were lush with well maintained green gardens. Some ares around reception were well maintained and watered. It’s a pity that the same was not done to improve the areas around the villas. Placing plants in the empty pots around the villas would have helped to distract from the very barren, dead, dry landscape. Breakfast at the restaurant was a huge disappointment and come down from JW Marriott, Lux Grand Baie, Sugar Beach and the Oberoi where we stayed before coming to Maradiva. The owners should scout out their rivals to bring the gardens and breakfasts up to the same standards as these other hotels of which some are in the same price bracket and some much cheaper. Maradiva is a beautiful resort with fantastic staff. The resort is run down if you look at the painting of the exterior of the villas, the state of the roofs and the state of the gardens outside the villas. The staff are performing incredibly well to make up for these shortfalls in the surroundings.

This was our honeymoon and it was perfect. The room, the food, staff,... Everyone was super helpful and friendly. It was amazing.

nothing.
everything. the Orientation felt like prison. it didn’t feel good telling me that I’m only limited to 3 bottles of water even thou I won’t use them probably. the staff wasn’t nice at the cost to cost restaurant and have no minimum standards of service what so ever. the quality of food is not good and I didn’t feel welcomed. I’m sad to say I wasted my money when I could have started at the four seasons for the same price.

We loved every single thing about this hotel. Its amazing. Everybody smiles, food are good, there are many options for the high quality activitiea and resting your mind is so easy. They even provided a privacy net around our villa as we asked.
Water activities are free, coast is long and calm, they take care of personal needs.
I definitely reccomend this place and will be back for sure.
Its stg too spesific but the only thing here that we didnt appriciate much in this hotel is the drinking water. They give only 1 bottle of water everyday and they charge you for the extra bottles. They charge 200 Rupies for a bottle of water they refill theirselves on the superb dinners they give for free and it doesnt make any sense. I just cant understand why a facility with 500 USD+ per night price would go after a 200 Rupie water. I would have rather paid 505 instead of 500 and wouldnt bother my mind with this water issue:)
But anyways thats a small issue and compared to how great everything is in that hotel it doesnt even count as a negative thing. Just a small feedback for the hotel.

Staff were very helpful and friendly. They let us use the villa on the last day as a full day which was very helpful as we could shower and change before our flight
our villa pool was not useable as it was not heated .

villas are amazing
the Price of beverages are excesive.

The resort is quite small which meant it was
quiet and felt and the staff could give more of
a personal touch. Our Villa was absolutely
stunning!!! Loved the turn down service each
night. We loved our couple’s massage. The
location is good for exploring the Black River
area.
The restaurants were ok, not amazing and it’s
too far away from other places to go out for
dinner easily. There wasn’t a lot of sun on our
terrace as it was blocked out by the trees, so
you have to go down to the beach to
sunbathe.

Breakfast is fresh and well-prepared, with a lot of variety. The Indian Restaurant dinner is a great experience and highly recommended. The beach is kept clean and very enjoyable to walk along. The rooms are very large and well-furnished, as are the verandas. Lovely to have my own plunge pool.
I would have preferred more fruit and juices to be available, especially at breakfast. I was surprised by how long it took to get my tea served at breakfast. My aircon conked out while I was there and could not be fixed. However, I was pleased with the transfer that was arranged because it involved an unxpected upgrade.

Excellent resort, loved the private pool and service with great halal food. Could get a buggy ride to the different locations and staff were very helpful.
Had to keep requesting an iron and an ironing board, we'd have expected to have them permanently in the villa especially in a 5 star resort
