About this apartment rental
Our apartment is on the ground floor at the beautiful and quiet Bloemgracht (Flower canal), in the Jordaan. The Jordaan is the most beautiful neighborhood right in the city center of Amsterdam.
With it's 2 bedrooms, both with there own private bathroom, the place is excellently fitted for two couples or a family.
If you are a family with up to two children you find in BLOEMBED an excellent location.
There are no cooking facilities but a Nespresso coffee machine, tea facilities and an egg cooker are at your disposal.
A supermarket, all kind of restaurants like Mediterranean, Indonesian, Chinees, Thai and even Dutch cuisine, are all within walking distance. (and than we mean, no more than 5 minutes walk!) Also all kind of little shops and a laundry are around the corner.
Our apartment is close to some interesting spots:
- Anne Frank House (4 minutes walk)
- Rijksmuseum (20 minutes walk)
- Van Gogh Museum (22 minutes walk)
- Red Light District (15 minutes walk)
- Heineken Experience (26 minutes walk)

Pleasant area with canal at front door. Clear instructions about check in /out. Good restaurant recommendations.
However, overall adequate rather than comfortable place to stay. Noise disturbance from rooms above in the early morning particularly.

Overall everything was great! Vrbo was as expected.
Location was awesome and close to everything.
Clean and comfortable. Great communication with hosts. Nice bottle of wine on arrival.
Highly recommend better couch and chair for living room. Front bedroom needs better blinds or curtains to block out sun. These are purely suggestions to make the location even better. Again we loved staying at this VRBO!

We had an issue, we tried to communicate with the owner and got no response. The location was nice, away from the central part of the city. There are 4 twin beds. The outside windows open, but there is a smokers bench right outside of the windows. The showers were very small. Also, probably needed more bed pillows.

Amazing location and very clean. It’s a basement apartment with “Laverne and Shirley” windows in the front. No windows in back bedroom/bath. Front bedroom can hear all street noise but back bedroom is very quiet. Beautiful street on the canal.

We stayed in July 2024 for 3 nights with two adults and our 17yo son. We also had his 18yo friend with us for one night. (This was a graduation celebration trip for both of them, and Amsterdam was our last stop. The friend left our trip to meet up with his family who was also visiting Europe.)
Host was communicative. Check in was easy. Bottle of wine was a welcome surprise!
We were able to drop off our bags early, which was very helpful. A friendly neighbor secured a shoulder bag we had accidentally left on the bench outside the apartment when we left on a sightseeing outing.
The second bedroom lacks an exterior window and can get stuffy during warmer days. There was construction/remodeling going on in adjacent apartments that caused some commotion on the street, but did not interrupt our stay.

Cannot stress enough how great the location was! The down side: the apartment above is doing construction and began working before 7 am on weekdays. The WiFi was out for 2 days and we messaged the hosts with no reply, the WiFi never did come back. For international travelers, this can be a huge issue. Would have liked the hosts to at least acknowledge that the WiFi was out for 2 days. One last inconvenience - for the price, would have liked better pillows on the bed. Would agree with a previous review that photos were a little outdated as compared to the condition of the unit today. All that to say, the location was amazing - would recommend this listing if you don’t plan on being inside much/can chance having the WiFi go out.

We loved it! Great accommodations in a wonderful are!!

This place was exactly what we were looking for - a simple but comfortable spot to stay while we got out and explored all Amsterdam had to offer. The place was just as described. It had a wonderful neighbourhood feel, but was super-close to so much by foot, and lots more by multiple trams minutes away. We loved the city this spot as our base for exploring! The only negative was that because it is on ground level with such narrow streets, you could really hear all that was going on outside, but it's generally not a busy street. If this won't bother you, stay here!

This apartment is in a perfect location and the pictures are exactly what you get. There are 2 very large bedrooms with 2 good sized baths. We were greeted with a great bottle of wine, which was so appreciated after our long travels (Thank you Daan!)
We had an issue with no hot water and a broken hair dryer (which we were alerted to by Daan). The hot water was fixed relatively quickly (needed a new part), and the hair dryer was replaced that same day. Later in our stay, the heat stopped working, but with a call to Daan, it was restarted and heating again within 3 hours.
Daan was SUPER responsive, and he has a nice team of helpers to address your every need.
There are shops and restaurants close by, and the apartment is in a great location for shopping, and tourist attractions.
Our only issue was the noise related to the gutting and rebuilding of the apartment above us. The workers began their drilling and sawing at 6:30 AM!!! After a few days, they delayed their start until 8 AM.
We highly recommend this apartment and could stay here again if we ever come back to Amsterdam.

Lovely apartment in a great location for visiting Amsterdam! Very clean with comfortable beds. Perfect for two couples. Quiet neighborhood most of the time (except we did hear some loud voices on Friday night for just a short time as they passed by; but that was only the exception).
Host/hostess was very responsive.
We would definitely choose this apartment again!

The property was as advertised. Daan and Danielle are good communicators and made check-in and check-out easy. We enjoyed our stay.

Perfect size for a family of 4, great location in the Jordaan neighborhood within walking distance to the the Anne Frank house and so many great restaurants and bars. Easy walk to the Tram to explore the rest of the city. Host was super helpful and responsive. Check in/out was a breeze and host left us a nice bottle of wine to enjoy along with coffee for nespresso and tea as well. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a place to stay in Amsterdam.

Outstanding apartment on the bank of a beautiful canal in a great neighborhood. Communication was great and the beds were very comfortable. Highly recommended and would love to stay here again on a future trip!

The apartment was exactly as described an in a great location. What really set it apart was the responsiveness and helpfulness of the hosts.
4.8
Great location. Fine dining options. “Damn Boat guys” gave a perfect evening canal cruise. Convenient to Anne Frank museum. Accommodating hosts.

We really enjoyed our location and were pleased with the prompt responses we received from the owners any time we had a question. The apartment was very clean and looked just like it appeared on the website. A slight musty odor in the front bathroom was unpleasant and the fan seemed inadequate to remove it. Overall, we would definitely recommend this apartment to others. Thanks to Daan and Danielle!

We loved the location of this property and found the host very responsive. The welcome bottle of wine and basic supplies (coffee, tea, sugar etc) were very much appreciated. The apartment is very comfortable and met all our needs.
4.8
Everything was perfect and especially some little attention from the owner.
4.8
Apartment was very comfortable and well located. We enjoyed our stay.
4.8
We enjoyed walking around the neighborhood..an excellent bakery for croissants 2 blocks away, a number of restaurants, and close to the tram.
Basement apartment was surprisingly light and quite comfortable. Stairs in might prove a challenge for someone with limited mobility, but fine for us. Appreciated the espresso maker and tea that was included!
4.8
The apartment is located right on a canal, close to everything you will want to access. While the photo's are accurate of the space and amenities, the living space and kitchen are small, which was not a huge deal as we were out and about. All was clean and stocked as promised. The plumbing broke on the second day, with the toilet backing up into a bathroom sink. While the landlord got a plumber out to look at it, it could not be fixed until at least the next day so we moved out and were only refunded 2 nights of rent, none of the fees. If you have a problem when you are renting anywhere, get a hold of VRBO so you are not negotiating solely with a landlord.
4.8
The location was excellent and within walking distance of all major attractions. Our hosts were gracious and had a bottle of wine waiting for us when we arrived. We’d definitely stay here again.
4.8
This location was absolutely perfect- walk, bike or tram to everything in this city but just set apart enough we were on a quiet street with a quaint canal just steps from our door. The accomodations are basic, but everything we needed for our family of four. The descriptions were all accurate to what we found. Daan and Danielle were responsive and helpful at every step of the way. I would not hesitate to recommend this place. We had such a lovely trip! Thank you.
4.8
The unit is very claustrophobic. If something would happen, the back bedroom has no way out.
The stairs getting into the unit is unsafe.
The unit is also pretty dark, no natural daylight will come in. Maybe a check for safety is necessary!
Can not believe this unit is approved for renting
4.8
It’s all about the location with this apartment. It is close to everything! With tram stops close-by, even the too far to walk spots are just an easy tram ride away. The 2 bedrooms were perfect for our family of 4 and with some many restaurants within a 5-10 minute walk, it was a pleasure not to have a full kitchen! We were so busy we forgot to drink the wonderful bottle of wine the hosts provided but NEXT TIME! Stay here if you want a beautiful location, close to everything and on a canal! Can’t wait till we can return!

Two bed/two bath = perfect for two couples. The location is great - right on the canal. It's an easy walk to restaurants and the Anne Frank house. Tram stops are close by as well, and the tram system is very easy to use. As a starting point for exploring the city, it's exactly as advertised. We had a great time.
4.8
No one to meet and greet us. Instead, email instruction on how to access key: up a set of stairs to a lockbox, enter code, press buttons, take single key to street-level door, down 4 steps with no handrail to floor level. So, hard for older persons with mobility problems. Also, having only one key for 4 individuals very problematic. These potential issues need to be mentioned to would-be renters. Our stay was marred by a water leak from the apartment above us, which damaged our property and disrupted our vacation. The hosts twice assured us via emails with "reply" links that led nowhere that we would be compensated for the disruption. Nothing has come of this promise, and neither we nor VRBO has been able to make any contact with the hosts. So, this property's living quarters are quite satisfactory, but accessing them is a challenge, and discussing any issues that may arise during or after staying there appears simply not to be possible. Given our group's experience I believe my rating is more than generous. I urge the hosts to rectify the deficiencies mentioned. It would enhance the pleasure of staying there immeasurably.

Dana and Danielle were very responsive and helpful. They made good recommendations and provided great information about Amsterdam. The location was perfect and close to everything. We found the bedroom that faces the street to be noisy from street noise and people above. You can also smell smoke in the apartment from people sitting in front of your door smoking. The unit is well maintained but is starting to show its age. Overall an OK stay for a few nights.
4.8
A comfortable flat in a great location. We walked everywhere and only took the tram to and from the station. We slept well with ear plugs and eye masks (there’s a little street noise in the front bedroom and the curtains let in a lot of light). The towels were very small. A good base from which to explore lovely Amsterdam.
4.8
Excellent hosts, great communication and very understanding. The VRBO was in an excellent location, walking distance to shops and cafes, Chinatown and the Red District.
Place was spacious and clean. Will definitely come back!
Thank you so much Daan and Danielle!

That was a really great time in the apartment in Amsterdam. The location really couldn't be better and it is very enjoyable to enjoy the evening sun on the bench in front of the apartment.
4.8
The apartment was conveniently located, and the owners provided all the information necessary to access the apartment easily. We slept very well!

This was a perfect place to stay in Amsterdam. Close to the canals, anne frank house and flagship amsterdam canal ride stop, bike rental, food hallen, 9 streets, small supermarket, museumplein, and the tram. The below street place itself fit our needs, with two bedrooms (one in front with upper window and one in the back with no window). Daan and Danielle gave great tips, and we did our own research as well to take advantage of the location.
4.8
Dana and Danielle were very helpful and responsive throughout the entire process! They shared recommendations and advice on how to navigate the city!
Would recommend staying here!

Our family of four (two teens) loved this spot for our week long visit to Amsterdam. The owners were great and quick to respond to our questions and this was the perfect location from which to explore the city,. We easily walked from here to all of our destinations. The kitchenette was nice with the coffeemaker and mini fridge to hold all our snacks (without the pressure to cook anything, haha). The weather was cold, and a little rainy, but we still had a marvelous time and this apartment was a great warm and cozy retreat at the end of the day.
4.8
Lovely apartment. Great central location - easy walk or tram ride from all the attractions. Only minor point would be that TV would be better in a communal area but not a major issue.
4.8
Very friendly and supportive owners host this two bedroom home sandwiched a short walk between the museums and downtown shopping and sights. Great restaurants, cafes, and coffee shops are all within 15 minutes or less by walk or Uber. The home sits on a cobblestone street overlooking a canal in a lovely quiet neighborhood just a few blocks from Anne Frank’s home (for location reference). Try Kafenion Amsterdam just one block away to start your morning. We will be back!

Great location and perfect for 3 days in Amsterdam.
4.8
Although basic, this property is perfectly situated for the beautiful area of Jordaan and close to boutique shops and restaurants. We loved our stay.
4.8
The owners responded quickly any time I had a question. They provided plenty of helpful tips and information. The check in and check out process was very easy. The apartment was in a great and quiet location. It was perfect for two couples. The two bedrooms and two bathrooms still allowed us to have privacy. There is only one TV in the apartment. I would have liked a second TV, either in the common area or the second bedroom, but not a big deal. It was clean. One of the bathrooms could use a coat of paint on the ceiling.
We have a excellent visit and would recommend this location to others.
