We had a corner room with a large L shaped balcony on the third floor with stunning views over the sports fields, the wide rushing river, parts of the town, and the magnificent mountains overlooking the town. There are lovely parks either side of the hotel and others further away. There are three large supermarkets next to each other next to the hotel, and a great many other shops and facilities nearby. A short walk away is the market that is open all week, as well as the centre of town and the pedestrian walkway. The hotel has a huge heated indoor swimming pool 25 metres long, a sauna, steam room, jaccuzzi and a fitness centre, most of which are available to hotel guests at no cost. The staff are fantastic and so extremely helpful. Breakfast is included in the price and is either a buffet or a choice from a menu if there are just a few guests. I would live there if I could afford to do so! There are tracks up the mountains within walking distance from the hotel, and many interesting buildings to see in the town. There is a wonderful seamstress who has her premises in her house on the left hand side of the road leading to Hotel Sonata, and she has done excellent work for us over the past four years that we have visited Samokov. This area is a big Winter skiing centre.
Nothing at all!

All good, the location is nice near the river, all is good with the staff as well. We did had good time, they have spa that was actually very well occupied and we had great time there as well. Also we can recommend their restaurant.
Some of the spa features need extra fee and we didnt expect that. Also we can say that their WIFI wasnt good at all, we complained at the reception but we didnt really got any reaction except that they are sorry.

I liked the breakfast, the location, the swimming pool and the spa.
Noisy room, beds are not comfortable.

I liked the layout of the hotel and its location within Samokov, close to the center and still a bit further out to allow for a nice walk along the Iskar. The room was OK, with a very nice view of the Rila mountain and the surrounding plains.
The SPA closed rather early (about 8PM). The swimming pool had a bit colder temperature than would be comfortable for spending an extended period of time. In the morning we got to the restaurant 10 minutes before the end of breakfast hours, but the staff had already started packing so they did not leave us with much choice and hurried us up a bit.

I expected a buffet breakfast, but due to so few people staying there it was a set menu breakfast with a choice of certain breakfasts available. However on Friday quite a few people arrived and it did change to a buffet for the weekend. The staff were ultra helpful, and when they could not find a map of the town or area after scouring their reception and offices they produced a marvellous map all in English for us next morning when we went for breakfast! We loved the huge apartment with three balconies they upgraded us to when we requested a bath and not a shower. We also thoroughly enjoyed free access to their huge Olympic size indoor swimming pool and their sauna area. The views from our apartment and balconies were marvellous of the town and the mountains in the distance with snow on their peaks as well as all along the river. The apartment was beautifully warm. The restaurant was open all day and the food was good. There is plenty of parking available between the hotel and the river, and it is all paved. There was instant very hot water from the taps, and the heating via their central airconditioning was excellent. The cleaning staff attended to the room every day of the week we were there. The provision of dressing gowns and pool towels was much appreciated. As the hotel is right in the centre of town next to Billa, Lidl, T-Market and other shops, it is very easy to get to them all and to the market and other parts of the town by just walking there. There was ample wardrobe space as well as shelving and cupboards. The apartment had two toilets, one off the entrance hall and the other in the main bathroom that had a lovely deep bath.
The beds felt a bit lumpy as the springs tended to poke up in places, but that did not stop us from sleeping extremely well. The entrance to the hotel is at what one would consider to be the back of the hotel facing the river, and there is no adequate signage to indicate how to get to it when driving. My navigation device took me onto a cycle track that crosses the river on a narrow pedestrian and bicycle only bridge on the far side of the hotel! The actual road access is down the side of the T-Market building past their parking area, on past the multi sports arena building parking area, to the wall alongside the river where you make a sharp left turn that then takes you to the front of the hotel and the hotel parking alongside the river.

Location, facilities, rooms, cleanliness
the food at the restaurant was not so good and was a little pricey for the quality

The location is perfect, right next to the new city centre park and the three big hypermarkets, not 10 minutes to the bus station and central marketplace. The view to the mountains was exceptional, rooms were clean, wasn't crowded. Will visit again if I need a stay in Samokov
Had to have swimming hats for the pool
The pool had some weird spots near the vents, but it was clean.
