A truly excellent bed and breakfast experience

Attention to detail, charm, friendliness, cleanliness, parking on site, garden, proximity to good dinner outlets.

One day shower will be upgraded but it was fine for us. Plenty of hot water but in-bath type. Slip mat was provided.

Bedford Lodge is centrally located, offers very comfortable accommodation set in a beautiful garden.

The room and shower room were very comfortable. The location was excellent - very close to the Chine, restaurants and beach. The breakfast was very good. The garden was delightful and the hosts very accommodating

If we ever go to the island again we would stay at the Bedford Lodge.

Breakfast was 1st class, we could have whatever we wanted. Hostess was kind and cheerful nothing was to much for her. The chef done a great breakfast. The grounds of the b&b were so pretty well kept lovely lights in the evening. Location was good not far from many places and there was a bus just across the road. Our room was so clean and the bed was so comfortable better than our one at home.

Loved everything about our stay. Not one thing to complain about.

Wonderful stay

The friendliness and welcome from Bedford Lodge. Everything was wonderful. Beyond expectation. The owners go above and beyond to create a great ambiance. Everything is catered for. Being gluten free is not a problem. Felt so relaxed

Very pleasant Isle of Wight stay

Lovely house, rooms comfortable and clean. Staff delightful. Garden beautiful. Location excellent. Breakfast good too.

Granddaughters’ room super. Ours was a bit small - but still clean and comfortable.

Exceptional

Lovely house and pretty garden. Very comfortable room with everything we needed. Good shower. Breakfast was delicious and catered well for our gluten free diet. Easy walk to beach, Chine and high street. House had a lovely atmosphere and Gilly was a good host. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Great.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Everything was perfect for what we wanted. Hosts were very helpful, gave lots of tips and advice. Breakfast was lovely. Would definitely stay again.

We'll be happy to come again, if Island Line can get their trains to coordinate with the ferry.

Meals, location, quiet area, friendly and helpful staff. comfortable room.

Nothing to do with the hotel, but the weather! ferocious winds, but it didn't really spoil our stay.

Exceeded expecations

There was a lovely from comfortable room. A very nice vegetarian breakfast was provided. The Manageress was very helpful about taxis, which take some arranging on the Isle.

A real gem in a great location.

Breakfast was great, loads of choice. Our room was really comfy and the owners really welcoming. The gardens are beautiful as is the communal lounge. As well as including breakfast, there is complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits in the afternoon, just help yourself. The location is great with plenty of pubs and restaurants within walking distance. If we return to the IoW we will definitely go back here.

There is limited parking which can be difficult to get into if you have a big car. That being said, we did manage to park every night. The owners are open to double parking as long as you are willing to move the car if necessary.

Lovely break . We felt well looked after by Gilly and her colleagues in a lovely part of IOW.

Friendliness, pleasant house and garden, quiet light-filled room with lovely view of woods.

Room was a little small and the shower was a walk-into the bath type (we booked the most economical room, ie 'standard' so that was fair at the price)

Perfect long weekend.

Bedford Lodge is a wonderful house in an awesome location. Gilly was a fantastic host and I would recommend staying here when in the Isle of Wight

Excellent hotel. Highly recommended.

Staff are extremely friendly and can't do enough for you. Rooms are recently decorated to a very high standard and extremely clean! Right in the village, but a short walk from the beach.

Lovely comfortable B & B - would definitely recommend

Great B&B in the centre of Shanklin. Perfect position for exploring both Shanklin and the rest of the island. Rooms were very clean and comfortable and so much choice for breakfast. A great touch to have afternoon tea and biscuits available in the lounge in the afternoon and a bar with an honesty box so that you can help yourself to a drink in the evening. Very warm comfortable atmosphere and lovely hosts.

Overall the stay was enjoyable and very good.

The breakfast was very good. Cereal, cooked English and toast. Tea and biscuits available in the afternoon. There was a very nice lounge area.

The room was small but then it was described as a small double.

I would be very happy to stay at the Bedford again.

Very friendly and welcoming - nothing was too much trouble - especial thanks to Gilly. Excellent breakfasts and service. Superb location with secluded gardens although only a few hundred yards to the Shanklin itself and the Chine Our room was very welcoming, clean and with everything we needed We left the Bedford after our 4 night stay wishing we had booked our entire 9 day visit to the IOW there.

As told by the Bedford before we booked. The Bedford had its own parking on site but the nature of the site meant that, at times, it could be challenging - none the less we always got a space. I accept that there is little that the Bedford could do to improve this.

This trip was booked on behalf of my parents for their 50th anniversary. They loved it! Beautiful premises, and wonderful location, with helpful staff.
