Great ocean views, easy access to the beach, quiet neighborhood. Only wish the pool was heated! Brrr.

Outstanding location and beach access, rental unit needs a deep clean and some TLC
Overall, we enjoyed our short vacation in this beach house.
The pros: this home was a perfect fit for our family of two adults, two grandparents, and two young children. The beach and pool access is about as good as it gets - the home is a very short (<5 min) walk to the beach and pool, and both were very secluded (we visited in mid September and basically had our stretch of the shoreline to ourselves). We're not golfers, but if you are, this would be a great location for it - the home overlooks a portion of Wild Dune's golf course. The screened back patio and second floor sundeck were comfortably furnished, and we enjoyed several evenings relaxing in the breeze with a picturesque view of the Atlantic.
Now for the not-so-great: the home itself was spacious and comfortable, but whoever is managing this property needs to put more effort into upkeep and ongoing maintenance. For the duration of our stay, the refrigerator wouldn't cool (and we lost some of our perishable groceries we purchased the first night). Wild Dunes staff sent someone to look at the fridge and - unable to repair it - brought us a replacement mini-fridge (which we used for the duration of our stay). Much of the furniture, linens, and carpets in the living area are stained and visibly worn. In the dining area, a chair was actually physically broken and could not be used. The entire home needs a deep clean and a fresh coat of paint; we decided to pre-wash all dishes we used during our stay, because the first few mugs and bowls we pulled from the cabinets on arrival were covered in visible food particles. The grate of the propane grill on the back porch was covered with baked-in food, and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in some time. We were pretty grossed out each time we entered our first floor bedroom and noticed the air return vent which was visibly clogged with dust, and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years.
Overall we loved Isle of Palms, and we appreciated the beautiful views and quick beach access this home afforded, but due to the lack of upkeep and cleanliness, we'd probably try a different home in this area next time.

Beautiful views - poorly appointed
Gorgeous views!!! furniture and carpets were worn and stained and need to be replaced - mattresses are old and lumpy. Not equipped with basics that make the stay more enjoyable (e.g. laundry basket, olive oil, trash bags, cleaning spray, Tupperware, plastic wrap). Has a lot of potential to be amazing if they put some more TLC back into the property!
