About this apartment rental
Large apartment in a renovated historic building XIX century located in the historical and tourist center of Madrid. Renovated and restored for four people, twoo of them in a large easily open bed safa. Located in Cava Baja street close to Plaza Mayor in the best tourist entertainment area: restaurants, tipical tavers, theaters, monuments and El Rastro flea market. It´s exterior, bright. Personal attention by the owners. English and french are spoken.

An apartment close to everything.
On the third floor with stairs
Host was very good.
We stayed 2 nights, which was a perfect location.
We were touring all day and apartment was suitable for this.

My husband and I had a great experience during our stay. José Miguel was very punctual. He told us he was going to meet us at 9:00am, and at that time he was there. He is extremely lind. He stored the luggage for us until check-in time. The apartment was very clean, cool, and very comfortable. We asked if we could stay in the same place at the end of the month, but it is booked. I can tell that it is a popular place. It is close to everything. Only five minutes walking to la Plaza Mayor. We would definitely stay at this place in the future.

Great location: very short walk to Plaza Mayor and to the La Latina Metro station. Many tapas bars and restaurants right on the same street as the apartment.
Entry and stairs: very secure main entrance door. Be aware there is no elevator and a 60 step climb to third floor apartment. This could be an issue depending on your luggage and fitness.
Wifi: very reliable and high speed wifi, but signal was very weak in the bedroom which was farthest from the router. No issues in main room.
Kitchen: well stocked. Microwave and stove worked well.
Washing machine: we used once and worked well. Apartment had washing detergent supplied. No dryer but supplied drying rack was fine.
Owner was very available and answered our emails promptly. He responded with recommendations about local eating, shopping and attractions.
Overall a very good property. We would stay again.

The helpfulness of our host and the central location of the apartment made our short holiday in Madrid very easy and enjoyable. The flat itself is small but has all you'd need for a holiday for 2-3 people. All was clean and comfortable and while there was a little noise from adjacent flats this did not disturb us and we slept well considering how lively the street was with lovely tapas bars. You can reach all the sights by walking or using the metro from La Latina. Thank you for a great stay in Madrid!

Amazing location on a vibrate street. Close and central we could easily walk to many of the sites. Being close to Plaza Sol it was easy to use the metro.

My husband and I went on our Honeymoon through Europe, and our stay in Madrid was the first stop. José’s communication was excellent, and upon arrival he was extremely helpful. The neighborhood of Cava Baja was absolutely perfect. There were so many amazing options for food and drink. We would absolutely recommend this apartment.

Lovely apartment with everything you need. Excellent location. If you are a walker you are close to all the highlights of Madrid. 60 steps up to the apartment but that will work off the drinks and tapas 😊.

The condo was perfect for father and teen visiting Madrid. The location is ideal with bakeries, groceries, bars, dining, markets, and metro all within an easy walk. Bed and sofa were comfortable. Also perfect taking off point for tourist sites like the big 3 museums.

We really enjoyed staying in this apartment. It is really close to Plaza Mayor and surrounded by best restaurants. Jose is the great host. He did everything so that our stay was enjoyable and easy. We felt like in a family there. We highly recommend this apartment to our family and friends and would try to book it again if we go to Madrid on vacation.

What a gem of a place. Located on the number one tapa hopping street in Madrid. Short distance from the Rastro. 5 minute walk to Plaza Mayor. Everything you need for your stay is in this area ie: hair salon, grocery stores, pharmacy and bars. Apartment was well maintained with some amenities. It was great to have a washer in the apartment for our month long stay. Apartment was bright and airy with a home away from home feeling. Quiet for the most part. If you are in the living room it gets a little noisy at night, after 8pm, but you just shut the sliding door and it is totally fine. Bedroom is located in the back of the apartment and was quiet all the time. There is no elevator to get to the apartment. There are approximately 60 stairs to get to the third floor with well lit hallway. Air conditioner in bedroom and living room was wonderful on the hot days. Jose’s communication and follow up with us was wonderful. We definitely would stay at this property again.

The property location is excellent. The host is outstanding. Very forthcoming, easy to communicate, very open, and did everything to make our stay unforgettable. The lady who was cleaning the apartment was the same way also. The apartment is located on the top floor with no elevator. So elderly and people with disabilities need to keep it in mind. For us it was great. We really enjoyed the stay. If we come back we would try to rent it again and we will recommend it to our children.

Perfect central location
Jose was very easy to communicate with. He was honest and accommodating. The apartment is small, but very clean, cool and centrally located. You are only a few small blocks from La Latina metro and Plaza Mayor. It is also close to many restaurants and cafes - including the oldest restaurant in the world - Sobrino de Botin.

Weekend Break
The apartment was just as we wanted, everything we could need for a nice long weekend break. It is beautifully kept, fitted with everything to make your stay comfortable. It is situated in a great location with bars and restaurants on your doorstep and very close to Plaza Mayor and the main shopping centre. The metro is just a short walk from the apartment and very easy to navigate around. Madrid is a lovely city and the people are very welcoming, with lots to see and do. Jose was a pleasure to deal with and very accommodating in allowing us to arrive early and leave late from the apartment. The only small item missing that we could have done with, but it was no great deal, was a bread knife to cut up our morning loaf. We would definitely recommend this apartment, and have already done so to some friends who are considering Madrid for their next weekend holiday destination. We look forward to being able to return to Jose's apartment at some time in the future. Thank you once again, Gordon and Linda

Great apartment, great location
The apartment was just as described/as it looked in the photos. It was bright and airy. The sofa bed was very comfortable, it had a deep enough mattress to feel like a real bed. The shower was hot and powerful. The kitchen area was well equipped. The location was fabulous, walking distance from everywhere, and on a really buzzy street - we didn't have to walk more than a few minutes to get great food and drink (recommend Pez for the tortillas, and La Concha for the manuelas!). Worth stating that it is on the third floor, so a bit of a trek up the stairs. Overall we had a great time and I would book this apartment again.

Perfect location and charm
Very charming apartment on a street with more hopping bars and restaurants than you could need, but the back bedroom is very quiet. Could not have a more central location, with a metro station around the corner. Our only very minor note is that, with two people, you need to make careful use of the hot water for showers. But Juan Manuel was lovely and the apartment is too. Excellent stay.

Great place to stay in Madrid!
First of all, I would like to thank José Miguel for letting me check in earlier then expected. He took the time to show me around the place. The apartment was clean and cozy. The water pressure was excellent and the apartment was nice and warm. If you don’t mind stairs, this is a great place to stay. Lots of places to eat and very close to Plaza Mayor. The Tirso de Molina Metro stop is near by. Thank you again José Miguel!

El departamento esta ubicado en una de las calles mas hermosas de Madrid y con mayor animacion.(Muchos bares de tapeos y restaurantes que trae aparejado algo de ruido todo el dia). Proximo a la Plaza Mayor, la estacion de Atocha, los museos y a unas cuadras del subte.
El edificio es antiguo pero el departamento esta totalmente renovado ( atencion es tercer piso por escalera algo empinada).Luminoso, confortable, bien equipado y con la temperatura regulable segun las necesidades de cada uno.
El propietario nos esperaba en el piso a la hora prevista, muy amable ( siempre se mantuvo en contacto con nosotros por cualquier duda)nos dio todas las indicaciones necesarias para que la estadia fuera muy agradable.

Perfect for Enjoying Cava Baja and Madrid Centro
This was my first VRBO experience and it could not have gone better! José Miguel is a wonderful host and met us at the apartment to give us a tour of the amenities and ensure we felt comfortable. There were 3 of us staying so my sister and I shared the bedroom and my dad slept on the pull out couch. We all slept well and were cozy despite it being the first day of cold weather in Madrid. The heaters kept the apartment nice and warm. Things like cooking tools, salt/pepper, oil, coffee, shampoo, body wash, hair dryer and towels were all available. The stairs are no joke but I like that since it felt more authentic. It’s a great location if you are looking to enjoy some of Madrid’s best places for a drink and some pinxos or tapas! Weekends are loud but again, that is a trade off for being able to walk out of your door and into all the action! We had no issues during our stay and if we had a problem I feel confident that José Miguel would have been available to help. I would definitely stay here again in the future and would highly recommend it for people looking for an authentic experience in the center of the fun in Madrid!
