The owners were absent but contacted us in advance with good information about how to get in and different places where we could get breakfast so it all went very smoothly. It was clean and comfortable and in a good central location.
Perhaps useful to know what time th3 alternative breakfast options opened, but a very minor quibble.

We emailed the host the day before our arrival to let them know our time of arrival, however no one was there to check us in and there were no instructions sent to us with respect to how to access the guest house. I also emailed the host at the time of booking a month prior to the actual date of arrival to ensure my request for two twin beds vs a Queen bed and I did not receive a reply from The Park Guest House.

clean tidy rooms
close to town
smells from restaurant next door

Location for the ferry was perfect and it’s also in the town centre

The Park Guest House was closed for maintenance, so we stayed in our host's home, which is also a guest house. Our room had a view over their garden to the sea. Very quiet at night, the beds are clean and extremely comfortable. The breakfast surprise was a large bowl of fresh fruit salad (no tinned fruit!) - much more than we could finish! Roddy is a retired chef so the quality and presentation of our breakfasts were perfect! Our hosts were charming and very hospitable, advising us where to go, what to do and where to eat. We got 3 days of blue skies and the threatened gale blew over with no damage.
I can't think of anything we lacked, it was a perfect stay!
4.1
Good porridge and freshly cooked food
Perhaps the central heating could have been timed for a little earlier than 6 pm
4.1
Breakfast too expensive
Lovely building, clean and tidy. Good standard of room and breakfast
4.1
Ideal location for ferry but had to ring for access as key code on door took nearly 10 minutes before owner appeared and room was right at top up 2 steep flights of stairs. On a plus the shower and bathroom was excellent very small box room in loft
Stairs too steep I had all motorcycle gear to get down early in morning, owner did offer on way up to be fair but it was only one night and I had early start so wasn’t too bad but I wouldn’t stay more than one night
4.1
Good location, comfortable, clean, good breakfast
Remote control on tv not working so manual buttons used
4.1
Not clear room only and rather expensive breakfast.

Room was warm and clean with coffee and tea facilities.
We paid £110 did think this would have included breakfast but could be wrong. We asked and were told that is just a room price. We were leaving early for ferry not sure if we didn’t get breakfast because of this but there was no packed breakfast either. Saw owner on arrival when we rang as instructed on notice, didn’t see again after that, checked in at 4pm and left at 5.50am next morning.

Roddy was an excellent host and the quality of the whole house was superb. Breakfast excellent too. Highly recommended.

The breakfast is very simple actually - I had the Scottish breakfast, and it was satisfactory, and probably not worth the £12.50 charged. That is really the only thing that lets the side down. Everything else was really good.
4.1
Did not sample the breakfast. Location is quite central. Comfy bed and pillows. Well-appointed room in the attic space.
Cleanliness of the shower.
4.1
The breakfast was good, although not included in the price we paid for the room. Friendly staff and the room was comfy and clean.
I think £100 for a room is a bit expensive, and so I was expecting the breakfast to be included.

Great, central location and friendly welcome. Very comfy beds and the most beautiful en-suite bathroom I've ever seen in my life! I would definitely stay here again.
4.1
The location.
Two of our ferries were cancelled so we missed our booking on the 21st and did not arrive until 3.30am on 23rd. We received no refund, communication was poor in relation to the room we should go into when we arrived and we ended up sharing a single bed initially. Then we found the double room but the fan from the kitchen had been left on all night and we couldn’t sleep. Hence, we went a whole 24hrs with no sleep!
I would like information about whether we are entitled to money back.

Bathroom was first class, general all round good facilities and great location.
There’s really wasn’t too much to improve on.

The room/bathroom was very clean and tidy. Breakfast was very good. Covid-19 precautions were very good. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
The towel heater was connected to the central heating which didn't come on so the towels didn't dry very well.
4.1
The room was spacious and comfortable with plenty room for 3 adults. Area with beds and area with seats. Also had a fridge. Large bathroom. The room was out with the main building, round the back, with its own door. It was near to the street where we parked and was really easy to access for luggage. Not far to walk to get to the harbour/ shop area. The member of staff who was there when we arrived was pleasant.
We arrived at 9.45pm ( check in was until 10pm) and the only member of staff who seemed to be there was from the restaurant. He had to phone the owners to find out which room we were in. We didn’t see any other staff or the owners until we were packing up to leave 3 nights later, when they came to our door to ask if everything had been ok. However, we had been out a lot during our visit so maybe they had tried before and we weren’t there. No coffee, just tea, on the tea/ coffee tray. No information in the room re wifi, how to change towels, replenish tea tray, etc, although I’m sure if I’d gone to the main house I’d have got what we needed. More toilet roll needed to be left especially for 3 adults for 3 nights. Only 1 roll and part of a roll. Again, I’m sure it would have been rectified if I’d asked. No view from the windows although it was billed as city view- looking out into a pile of old roof slates, bins and a whirlie. We couldn’t get the windows to shut which wasn’t a problem as we needed them open as it was quite warm during the night. However, someone was outside our window ( which was in the grounds of the property) smoking weed on 2 occasions and unfortunately it wafted through our windows!!!

Location was good and it was useful having a restaurant at the accommodation.
Everything was fine, however, a small thing, the bed was squeaky and many places now offer king bed instead of a double.
4.1
Great central location, nice room and wonderful breakfast.
4.1
Clean, decent shower, near ferry
Cold room (apparently timed central heating: poor quality thin duvet), window overlooked, busy road.
4.1
I stayed in the annex, it was very nice and comfortable
the WiFi did not reach my room and there was some out of date milk in the fridge - some in date milk in the fridge would have been nice.
