We had a really lovely week at this lovely hill top home. Whilst the drive up was a bit scary the first time as great views means a climb up . this was a small price to pay for a great place. Very well equipped and comfortable. We stayed here as a family of 5 with kids 12 to 19. Highly recommend

The house was exactly as shown in the listing and spotlessly clean. Communication with the owners was excellent and everything that we needed was in the house already. Being able to stream music to the sound system was very handy.

An absolutely stunning villa which has everything you need for a beautiful holiday. The pool and poolside are beautiful and you could spend all day here without needing to leave.The view is exceptional - I never tired of taking photos!!
The area is also amazing with beautiful beaches and towns within a short drive. Begur is around 2-3km away - we did walk on an occasion but you need a car.
The communication with Lali and Stephen was first class - and anything I asked was answered straight away.
My 3 teenagers loved Mirtilo - and are already asking when we can return. The house is fully equipped with everything you need.
I would highly recommend this house for an amazing family holiday.

We had a wonderful fortnight at Mirtilo. The villa is beautiful inside and the pool area is bigger than it looks in the photos and the view just stunning. In fact every room in the house has the view and even the washing up didn't feel like a chore when you could look out over Aiguablava! The pool was beautifully warm and we found it hard to tear ourselves away from the house which we didn't feel we had to having visited Begur before. Everything you could possibly want is provided and more. Communication with Lali and Stephen was excellent - Lali in particular was brilliant with recommendations and when we had a medical issue. They were also very flexible and understanding given that our booking was originally during Covid - at one point it felt like we would never get there, so it felt so good to finally arrive. A couple of points to note - the road up to the house once you leave the main road is quite long and very, very steep. Also only 4 of the beds are really for adults, although the others would be fine for smaller adults. We had a 6 foot 2 inch teen in one of the smaller beds which wasn't ideal, but he was perfectly OK and it was a small price to pay for the chance to stay in this amazing house. It was so peaceful and relaxing there and we hope to return in the future. Thanks so much Lali and Stephen for allowing us the opportunity to experience your wonderful villa.

The view from the pool and terrace is just exceptional and it was a wonderful place to eat our meals and enjoy the sun. A very easy check in process and a lovely stay all round!

Beautiful Property
The house & location is amazing. The village of Begur & the beach just minutes away. As an American I enjoyed visiting a place that was not touristy at all from a North American perspective.
The photos from the VRBO listing do not do it justice. Unlike some rental properties (which can feel cheap/done only for renting) everything is done top of the line in this house & feels like luxury.
There was a bit of construction, but Stephen communicated proactively & made sure to make arrangements for us due to the road being closed one day.
I can’t wait to visit the beautiful Costa Brava area again.

Beautiful Villa
An absolutely stunning property located overlooking Aiguablava beach. The villa is apportioned with everything you could want from a well functioning kitchen, a beautiful pool and spacious deck, roomy master bedroom and bathroom, and nice décor touches throughout. Lila and Stephen are wonderful hosts and I would recommend Mirtilo to anyone wanting to enjoy Costa Brava.

This place is just amazing. The view is breathtaking. The house is beautiful, clean and luxurious. The pictures represent the house spot on. Communication is perfect and fast. Everything you need is in the house.
Only thing to look out for is the very steep and narrow drive to the house. But after a few times you get the hang of it.

The middle room ( bunk beds) is a little smaller than the image shows but for kids it’s perfectly fine. You do need a car to get around but beaches and good restaurants are easy distance. The owners were brilliant in communication and on the detail. This was like being in a hotel as they literally thought of everything you could need, from small weights if you like to do little fitness, yoga matt, robes and slippers in rooms, coffee pods, many diff tea’s, milk & cava on arrival, Netflix on tv ( if you decide you need 5 mins out the sunshine ) you name it they thought of it. To top it off a fully equipped kitchen and bbq. Oh and the water pressure in shower is a winner too. If I was to be really picky, and I mean really picky, only two sun-beds have comfy cushions for them and it would have been nice if all of them did. Overall 20 out of 10. Would definitely go back.

Great location - great view
We enjoyed our stay here and would love to stay again. Beautiful house with spectacular views; unfortunately construction noise detracted
This is an absolutely beautiful house in a perfect location. The views are as good as it gets, the pictures can’t capture how spectacular it is. The pool and patios are wonderful. The house is very well built with lovely kitchen and baths, high tech entertainment system, and everything you could ask for. The only negative, which was not insignificant, was that during our stay in early July, there was a lot of construction in the area, including the house across the street. This lead to intermittant periods of construction noise that did detract from the peaceful ambiance the setting called for. The owners were very responsive when we complained and did try to have the construction postponed, but in the end there wasn’t much that could be done and the construction continued throughout our stay. Absent the construction noise I would certainly have given this property 5 stars. Once the construction is finished, I am sure it will merit a 5 Star review again.

This home is exactly as it is portrayed. It is worth it just for the view. It is well laid out, clean and has everything you need close by. We travel to Europe every summer and the whole family rated this house as one of the best for relaxation.

The owners of Villa Mortilo have made a beautiful property at the top of a hill overlooking the beautiful bay of Aiguablava. Both the inside of the property and the infinity pool and decking area have been furnished with the highest quality of fittings throughout. The bedrooms are very comfortable, with the master bedroom being stunning with a good sized en-suite with a Jacuzzi and extra-large shower. The kitchen is filled with high quality equipment, plenty of crockery, cutlery, glasses, etc. The dining and living room has two leather sofas, a 55 inch Samsung TV with British TV channels, a home cinema with CD, DVD, Wifi and Wii console. One could sit all day beside the salt water infinity pool looking out at the properties below the house and on to the Mediterranean blue sea and the bays. The sun shines down all day and into the early evening. A full range of towels, water floats and equipment, games to play for all ages, are stored in a large cupboard behind the pool.Begur, the nearest town, is only a few kilometres away from the villa. Begur is a colourful and exuberant town, with narrow streets of Moorish and Spanish architecture topped with a crumbling medieval castle that has views along miles of coastline. The town's most stunning neoclassical mansions were built by local merchants returning from Cuba in the late 19th century. The town centre is filled with plenty of restaurants and street side bars.Highly recommended and we will be returning in 2018.

Absolutely wonderful on every way
My family enjoyed a wonderful two week stay at Mertilo. We spent a lot of time either on the deck or in the pool just soaking up the amazing view, and yes it is as spectacular as the pictures suggest. During our stay we visited Barcelona, Girona, Figueras, to see the Salvador Dali museum, and Montserrat, as wellas the many lovely local beaches and coves.

This is the second time we have stayed at this beautiful villa and yet again we had a fantastic holiday. The villa is modern and contemporary and very well equipped with everything you will need. The outside area is very spacious with a lovely infinity pool.
As it is in a hilltop location the views are stunning, overlooking Aiguablava Bay and the sea beyond. We spent many a night soaking up the view with a glass of bubbly. Overall an exceptional villa.

Simply stunning!
We were staying in Aiguablava for our son's wedding and decided to extend our holiday by renting a villa, as we hadn't visited this part of Spain previously.
Villa Mirtilo seemed to fit the brief, being perfect in size for our needs, beautifully furnished and equipped and having the most sensational of views. We weren't disappointed when we arrived, after an interesting climb up the hillside. The attention to detail was immediately obvious and the villa was impeccably maintained. We have rented villas of a high standard all around the world for many years and can honestly say that this property ranks amongst the highest.
The view over Aiguablava is breathtaking, the infinity salt water pool perfect and the terrace furniture comfortable and relaxing. We shall return!

Stunning views of Aguiablava
We, 4 adults, stayed in Mirtilo for a week in mid June with perfect weather. Once you have negotiated the steep road to the villa, the position is idyllic with spectacular views of the cove of Aguiablave below. The villa was immaculately clean, very well equipped and had a very comprehensive guide to local amenities and activities. The infinity pool was stunning and very well used by us during the week. The outside areas are spacious with comfortable seating of various different types and we found ourselves drawn back every afternoon to enjoy the ambiance.The supermarket at the top of the hill on the Begur road provides everything and even had English papers and fresh croissants if required. The property agent who met us on arrival was charming and helpful.
The Costa Brava is a wonderful holiday destination with plenty to do for all ages. I thoroughly recommend this villa.

The villa is situated at the top of the hill over Aiguablava creek and offers incredible view over the sea from the infinity pool and from every room.
The house has been renovated with top quality materials and is very well taken care of.
The equipement is high level and you'll find in the house EVERYTHING you need for a perfect vacation (appart from a bluetooth adaptater for the home cinema system)
As some guests allready mentionned, it was a pleasure to deal with the owners.
There are many places to go in the surrounding (Pals, Begur, Tamariu beach or Callela de Palafrugell) where you'll have great time and good meals.

Stunning in everything!
This house is a perfect choice to have an extaordinary vacation. This property is spotless clean and well kept. The stunning view is everywhere we look! The pool is a dream, and the setout of the terrace kept us outside even with a rainy day. Just go and experience by yourself. There is a lot of nice and interesting villages to discover all around, Begur, Medieval Girona and Besalu, We booked a holyday to enjoy and rest, but there is a lot more to do around if you want to.

Although it looked impressive on the website, it was even more amazing to see it for real. The views are staggering. A beautiful property - spotless inside and out with fantastic facilities all round.
Communication with the owners was excellent. They were thorough and ensured we were well informed prior to our visit and also during our stay - a pleasure to deal with.
They had thought of everything even down to tennis rackets, which we used at the nearby tennis court, as well as snorkelling equipment which we all enjoyed using at the local bay - a great experience!
This is an ideal location to explore the beautiful town of Begur as well as the local bays and surrounding areas.
We all had an amazing time here – the perfect setting for our family holiday!
