The location was great close to all the tourist hotspots, and it was close to where my conference was being held.

The location was great! I felt very safe in the complex and it was just across the road from a small, not very busy, beach and also within walking distance of Bridgetown. The property is on a main bus route , giving easy access to the costal areas and the airport. The room in the appartment was spacious and very tastfully decorated ... including some really lovely artwork by the Kristine, the host. In fact, I wish Kristine had had some prints available for purchase as, price permitting, I'd definitely have bought one!
The terrace was gorgeous, full of greenery, and I enjoyed spending mornings and evenings there with Pinky the cat, who was adorable! I saw monkeys, listened to birds and had (what I feel) was a true and unique Bajan experience in my brief time there. Also, my flight was not until late in the evening and Kristine was kind enough to let me leave my luggage there while I spent the day exploring. Thank you Kristine.
Although it didn't bother me too much (as I am used to midges in Scotland!), I did get bitten a bit during the night due to the open nature of the place. For me that was a small price to pay and in no way outweighed the positives ... but information for those who may not be able to cope with this.
Again for information (and and this is not intended as a negative as it is such a lovely place) but please be advised this is a room in someone's appartment. Kristine is very discreeet and welcoming but you will not have the appartment 'to yourself'. I mention this as I booked via my phone and it wasn't overly clear via the booking.com phone app. It didn't bother me in the slightest but again, hopefully useful information for those who want something solely to themselves.

A nice Airbnb type place with a friendly host. On the main road near the coast with smart hoteks nearby so places to eat. Ok for an overnight and a quick trip to the airport.
I do like an aircon room in the tropics and would certainly expect one at the price. There is fan so if this suits you that is fine. There were little details the host could fix such as a new light bulb in thr main light and a door into the front room that closed properly.

You could make tea and coffee in the kitchen and sit on the verandah. The windows were slatted so you felt were sleeping in the outdoors. You could feel the history as it is an old military hospital. It was beautifully adorned by lots of the owners colourful paintings. You could walk along the beach or road to some fun and lively restaurants, bars and cafes.
Pinky the cat made us feel very at home.
Some spaces were shared and we weren't sure if we were intruding. Don't expect pristine, hotel style cleanliness. Be careful when walking along the pavements at night. In the front and rear of the property, the monkeys, birds and singing frogs may keep you awake but also add to the charm.

The property is a seperate flat in a house. It lies in a quiet suburban area less than 10 minutes walk from the beach. City centre is another 10 minutes walk. The flat is very clean, quiet and have a high standard. Just like an upgraded hotel room. Friendly host does not live on the property, but will arrange taxi to airports etc.
There are no supermarkets og shops in the area. Some small kiosks selling coke, biscuits etc. and a couple of take aways.

My newly wedded wife and I are locals and headed directly from our wedding reception to the apartment.
Because of our work and family commitments we couldn't travel, our "honeymoon" had to be on island and unfortunately brief. We chose this location because it checked all our boxes. Easy transportation if needed and alternative routes, close to food venues, beach access, lovely scenery, recessed from the main roadside a hideaway feeling, best of all and what we mainly wanted was peaceful, quiet, shady and cool.
Combine all of that with a most pleasant and friendly hostess and our two day stay was all too short.
Thank you Kristine,
And hello Pinky [who knows knows for the others go find out]

There was no breakfast. While there was no breakfast, it would have been nice to have a kettle and some tea or coffee for the morning! I was also very interested with the history of the building, the architecture, and the grounds!

The location.
The pictures shown online are different in reality. Our room was part of the house next to the living room of the owner. Not a private apartment at all. No access to the balcony or kitchen at all. The sink water came out in the shower which is gross.
Also the hostess wanted us to pay in cash which we did not know and we had to get money out of the ATM which cost us exchange rates and bank fees.

The place is one of a kind, very arty and peaceful. The beach is only 5 minutes walk, the kitchen is shared with Kristine but there's private bathroom. There are no windows in the room but shutters, you can hear birds all day long and enjoy fresh air, I loved the place :)
The only downside was uncomfortable bed, but it was enough to get some good sleep, so I wouldn't get stuck on that. Enjoy the beautiful place!

Quiet. Near beach, has Netflix
Mattress/bed was way too hard
It needs a mattress topper. 27 stairs up to property
Some toiletries would be nice
Very noisy all night from croaking frogs until sun up, then some hissingsound for awhile.
Not noisy neighbors, tho. Windows can not be screened. Fans only, no a/c.

Nice; old looking; room almost at the beach. Has a very old English/colonial kind of atmosphere. Also a bit of beach house /surf ambiance. Loved the stay. And loved the hostess for making me feel at home.
