Great property!
Motorcycle group. The road in was a small challenge but experienced riders will have no problem.

PROS: Once you find the home, it's the kind of place you would never leave. If you love to hike (and I do mean hike) then this is your place. Small plane crash hike is a must BUT it is very challenging. Great sitting around either fire pit outside or fireplace inside. Plenty of space for 9 adults/2 kids/3 dogs. The creek outside is spectacular! Full-sized w/d.
CONS: I would have liked more "extras" to be included such as some fire wood, Christmas decor, etc. without it costing more given the total price. Take your garbage into town (there's a drop off) or its $35 per bag that don't fit into cans (there are 2 regular-sized cans). Right after Christmas and cooking for all the family was a challenge to get into 2 cans. Thank goodness we made friends with the garbage man. Town is about 35 mins away (great Ace hardware and grocery store). It would have been nice to have some area information at the home (restaurants, must-sees, etc.) Everything we discovered was from the guest book (hard to preplan) or google.
All and all, you want remote mountainous home - this is it!

Spent the weekend here with my in-laws and all our kids and had a wonderful stay! The cabin is remote and well off the beaten path, which is exactly what we were looking for! Spacious and clean with plenty of hiking trails, and opportunities to play outdoors. Overall, a wonderful weekend!

This was a great house for our family vacation! It was a bit remote but that was expected. Great if you want to be out of neighborhoods and in the middle of nature.

What a wondertel 4 days here for my sons wedding. We were here in the fall and this is the most beautiful place to be for the fall foliage. This location is very quiet and peaceful. The house fits right in with nature. It was beautiful inside and out. Inside there is plenty of space. We had 13 people and a dog and there was plenty of space for everyone! Kitchen is well stocked with everything you would need to cook. Just don’t forget to stop at the grocery store and have your groceries before you get to the house because it’s a good ways back to the store. We loved hanging out on the deck and enjoying the view and the sound of the creek. There is a fire pit and hammock. We enjoyed all of our walks around the property. Can’t wait to come back here again! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Great place to relax and unwind with the sound of the creek right out the back door. Very clean and accommodating cabin. Gravel road access was not hard to navigate on motorcycles if you take your time and enjoy the landscape.

It was absolutely beautiful and the area was very quiet and peaceful! We loved our stay.

The cabin was absolutely perfect. You can tell the owners put a lot of care into the Creekside Lodge. We were here on a fishing trip so the cabin was more like a base camp for us. We enjoyed coming back every night and relaxing after a long day of fishing. We are looking forward to coming back again.

We had a wonderful time at the cabin for our first Christmas in the mountains! Too cold to do any exploration but the fireplace was cozy and we had games to keep us busy. Had no internet or phone service except for a couple of spots. Other than that, very nice and beautiful place to be! Everyone we met while we stayed (including hosts) were awesome! Shout out to Kenny on the property and Rob one of the neighbors who helped us get my dad’s truck started after it froze! We appreciate them so much! We will definitely book this place again in the future!!

After surviving hurricane Ian, this was the perfect get away while our home was being worked on. The melody of the stream can be heard throughout the entire home.

WOW. The cabin is secluded, gorgeous inside and out, and well equipped. Beds are comfortable and furniture is cozy. The many streams and trails are fun to explore. The Wi-Fi was spotty at best, but the owners are aware and working on a new provider. The only thing I would recommend to make the house perfect is adding some outdoor seating on the deck overlooking the creek. It was one of our favorite places to gather, with the rushing creek sounds and beautiful mountain wilderness views. However, there was only a bench against the house for sitting. As other renters have mentioned, the drive to the cabin is an adventure in itself! Also, one bit of advice for future renters: when using the hammock make sure you have bug spray on…😊

Great get-a-way for a large group
Top notch, first class accommodations, along side a creek, back in the woods. The Turner family has been doing this for years and their experience shows. We had one service issue, Frank was attentive and timely.
Don't hesitate on this property - they go fast for a reason.

Secluded paradise
Loved everything about our stay. It was even more beautiful than pictures show. But do be careful getting there. And bring everything with you because it's 40 minutes to the grocery store. But it was exactly what we were looking for. Our 5 adults and 5 kids had a blast exploring the woods, roasting marshmallows and playing games.

Wish I could box our whole experience here and take it home!!
Our experience started with an exhilarating drive up the mountain (30 minutes from the Ingles to the house) to our stunning rental property!! We rented the Creekside Lodge for a family vacation, ages ranging from 18 to 74 years young. There were 8 of us that comfortably shared this beautiful space. We enjoyed home cooked meals at the big round table. We hiked up to the plane crash. Which was amazing to see and the views were simply stunning!! We indulged in s’mores by the fire pit. And part of our group even played in the creek!! Don’t forget your water shoes!! We won’t forget the amazing, constant sound of the creek! Wish I could have taken that back!! We will forever remember this beautiful location!! And we can’t wait to return!! Thank you!! Jean and Steph

Wonderful private cabin off the beaten path!
Great property west of Robbinsville and 30 min from Lake Santeetlah, Fontana area, Joyce Kilmer, and Cherohala Skyway. We comfortably fit 4 adults and 3 children with extra bedrooms to spare. The cabin was clean, comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. Host and property manager were both very responsive. Great cabin in a beautiful, remote area if that is what you are looking for.

Fantastic Property!
We were a family of 10, ranging in age from 16 months to 67 years and this property was perfect for us. We all played in the stream most every day and used the fire pit every night. The furnishings were very comfortable as were the beds. Wish the Wi-Fi had been better but it’s very secluded up there so no surprise that Wi-Fi was slow. No big deal. People have commented snout the road to the house. We found it no problem during the day but I wouldn’t want to travel it at night. Lots of potholes do go slowly and be careful. The directions from the owner were great. Only thing I’d add was the convenience store is a Sunoco. You can’t see the name of it before you get to it so just look for the Sunoco and turn left. I highly recommend this house for a quiet time for family. We visited the casino in Cherokee (about 2 hours away) and went whitewater rarfting in Ocoee with Ocoee River Outpost (again, 2 hours away) and had a blast! We’d come back in a minute!

Family gathered for Wedding
We enjoyed our stay at Creekside Lodge. If you are looking for peace, quite, relaxation and enjoying nature, this is the place to go! Hiking trails, looking for crawdads in the creek and salamanders, etc., the kids and 1 big kid had a great time doing just that! Enjoying listening to the running water of the creek while sitting out on the deck was awesome. The only downside... the drive to get there. If you get car sick, take a lot of Dramamine. Twist, turns, up and down for miles. Takes along time to get back in there from Robbinsville. Stock up on food and necessities and stay in! We had a great time!

This property is truly remote. The creek roars and drowns out all thoughts of work and worries at home. My kids loved walking in the creek. The homeowners provided a couple of walking sticks that helped in the creek. So thoughtful! The weather was damp and rainy but that didn’t stop us from enjoying the place. We loved hiking some challenging trails and some easy walks right out the front door. We even spotted big foot in the forest! The home was spacious and comfortable for our family gathering. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking all our meals. Definitely plan ahead and bring everything you will need to stay put. The drive to the closest grocery is about 30 minutes one way.

Beautiful scenery and home
The home was perfect for our large family get away - it comfortably housed 6 adults and four children. We had plenty of table room for eating and board games. The kitchen was ample for multiple cooks at a time and they had a great variety of kitchen tools (was surprised at the hand mixer). The best part of our trip was the outside - open the windows to have a constant soundtrack of the rolling creek. Our daily hikes were great for all ages, and it was the perfect spot for constructing fairy houses and gnome homes :). We enjoyed our stay.

We all loved the property. The lodge was spacious and had everything we needed. The views were wonderful. Loved the hiking trails. I do have one sugestion. A more detailed trail map would be great including difficulty and hiking times.

Remote location on gorgeous mountainside creek
I was sort of scared with how far from town the drive was and the one lane gravel drive has a few spots that are hard to maneuver after dark....but if you are looking for a private location to get away from it all and spend time with family while enjoying the beauty of "God's country", it's perfect. The decor is really nice and the deck overlooking the creek reminded me of my childhood summers spent at my grandparent's mountain property❤️❤️

Wedding in Paradise
This property is amazing!! My wife and I brought our family together to celebrate our wedding. We rented all of the Huffman Creek Retreat properties, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The property is tucked away with amazing sights, sounds, and trails to explore. We will be back again and definitely look forward to it.

Wonderful Getaway
The description, "Luxury Lodge Over Rushing Creek - Private Hiking Trails - Fire Pit - Streamside" fits the home exactly. It is clean, well maintained, things are set up for an enjoyable stay here. Let me explain, at each adult nightstand there is a charging station for you phone or tablet, the bird feeders outside are stocked with seed, the furniture in the place is high quality, much of it new. We've stayed at other places where the furniture is a hand-me-down from the owner or the thrift shop. The owner is remote but has an onsite handy man to care for anything you need. On Saturday morning we awoke to "no hot water"; I called the on site around 7am; by 7:30am we were up and running! Things will always go wrong, it's how well the management deals with situations that makes for an enjoyable stay. We hiked on the property, saw the tree house, and the plane crash. As you lay in your bed you can hear the rushing water flow down the creek right next to the house. As the other reviews state, it is out of the way, if that's what your looking for this is a great place to stay!

Family reunion
We had a family reunion the week of July 4th at the Huffman Creek Retreat. We stayed at the Creekside, Homestaed, and Chestnut cabins. The property is very secluded and had everything you needed to prepare your meals. The town is 30 mins away and so it’s a good idea to stop there and pick up your groceries and ice! Everyone had a great time. The property manager Frank was very very helpful. We would love to return again!

Absolutely beautiful place and experience. Cabin was extremely well decorated and Huffman Creek cascades are within feet of the cabin providing a tranquil environment. Highly recommend and definitely will be returning soon.

The house is lovely, clean and well-built--not thin-walled or creaky! The beds were all super comfortable. There were a couple of mice in the house though. While the owners did send someone to put traps out later that day after we called, they suggested that it was to be expected since the house was in such a remote location. I've not found that to be the case in any of the other rentals I've stayed in though. The directions to the cabin are excellent. We had no problems finding the location, but as other rentors have suggested, it can be tricky in the dark! But worth it. It was wonderful to walk out of the front door and acres and acres of trails to explore safely. Great for kids to be able to play and enjoy! We did lots of cooking while we were there and found that the kitchen has plenty of cooking utensils that include measuring cups and spoons, a hand mixer, cutting boards, a can opener, and lovely dishes and flatware. If you need cookie sheets, paring knives, or large mixing bowls, bring your own. But, they even have storage containers for your left-overs while you're there! The appliances are wonderful and in great condition. Bringing in our own firewood was a chore, but keep your eyes open for "Firewood For Sale" signs on the drive in from Robbinsville. We found a local pile not far from the property that sold us wood for a good price. We thoroughly enjoyed the stay and recommend it for families looking to enjoy some outdoor time in a lovely location!

Wonderful get-away in the beautiful NC mountains.
Beautiful cabin. Everything is exactly as perfect and beautiful as advertised. Well worth it. Suggestion: Don't arrive after dark, as that makes it more difficult to follow the winding, gravel roads. Unable to make some turns when pulling a long trailer. That being said, if you enjoy being away from it all this is the most perfect place. We would return. Only 30 minutes from a grocery and great little restaurant called The Hub. 💕

Good Times
The road was a little tricky, but the destination was so worth it. We had the best time at the TREE HOUSE, so named by my granddaughter, who will turn three in September. She is still asking when are we going to the tree house. My kids and grandkids had a blast. I think they hiked every trail. We couldn't keep the grandkids out of the creek and the sound was just magical. Thank you so much for the great memories and sharing your home with us. I highly recommend it to all! I just have one question...when can I move in?

This is a jewel in Great smoky mountain! Very nice house and love the creek nearby
It took us longer than we thought to find the house, but it’s well worth it. New appliances, detailed decorations, and most importantly, the house is very clean. Owner is responsive when we have some problems getting in and equipped the house with a lot of useful information for local travel. We have almost everything we need, from BBQ to bond fire s’mores. The closest town is Robbinsville (1 hour away). Recommend stock up supplies on the way in. And remember to bring your water shoes, you can have endless fun in the creek with the kids. Will definitely consider coming back! Thank you for having us.

Disappointment for sure!!
This cabin is located in remote mountains of NC. No cell service at this location. The owners would not send the door access code/house details until 2:11 pm on the day of our 4:00 check in. During our entire travel to the location, we were not even sure we'd get into the place after repeated requests for them to send the door code. You are a good 30 minutes from any town at this house. The final 15 minutes on a dirt road to access the house is very narrow. If you are hauling a trailer with motorcycles or boat, this is not the location as you have to cross 2 wooden bridges to get to the location. This is a great thing to tell people BEFORE they choose this house. The poor people that show up after dark are out of luck.
THEN, once we got the door code/house details, it said the renters are required to strip the sheets from all beds and start the first load of towels upon leaving. I was on vacation and very angry to read they wanted me to start the wash before leaving.
Learning that this house is located in a dry county with no alcohol available anywhere in the county should have been mentioned days before our check in. Very aggravating. We were so disappointed with the lack of communication and house details, we turned around and drove home.
